The fireplace is double sided and the focal point as soon as you walk in. The main source of the leak was fixed but we were at a loss trying to get fireplace companies to help us remediate the lines to the fireplace. One of them recommended Hamblen & Sons and we couldn't be happier. He didn't tell us no or insist we decommission our fireplace. He was up to the challenge! He completely re-did the work all without the need for massive destruction to our walls or floor implied by another company. He was very communicative and let us know his thoughts on how to approach the tricky job, options as to what we could/should do, and recommendations for maintaining code/troubleshooting in the future. drew did a great job on putting in a electric hot water heater, went to turn on water main and the handle was broken, we had no water, once he finished, he replaced the old handle with a level and it only takes a half turn to turn it off an on, drew is a very knowledgeable and capable man i would highly recommend him , he is very reasonable and a kind person i will not look around he will be my go to man read more

Water heater blew out on Easter and called Hemblen for service the next day. They were out 5 hours after I called with a new tank. Company that installed furnace did shotty work and left valves and piping hanging off furnace so water heater couldn't be removed. Hamblen took apart furnace plumbing and vents and redid them properly to remove tank and included in cost. Cleaned up tank piping and properly hung improperly installed pressure tank (by another big furnace/water heater co.) Appreciate attention to detail and the best price I found in my area. read more

This review is well overdue! Recently found out that our water heater was on its last leg. Contacted Hamblen & Sons and spoke with Tim. Explained to him what my HVAC guy said and Tim was on the job. He had me text him some pictures of the model I currently had and how it was setup. Within the week Drew was out installing the new water water! We did have a small hiccup due to me wanting a unit with a longer warranty. And even that wasn't an issue. They worked with us and made sure we were well taken care of and satisfied. Our home on Camano Island had some propane water heater issues, and I thought it needed to be replaced. Called Hamblen & Sons. They came the same day. Drew inspected my water heater, and informed me it only needed to be flushed out and have a new anode rod installed. This was relatively inexpensive; a small fraction of the cost of a new water heater. I was impressed with Drew's honesty, initiative, and excellent performance! Just had Hamblen replace a water heater in my townhouse. If you are looking for a professional gas service & heating provider, Hamblen is the one to consider. Tim and his son are very professional, fast, accurate and do beautiful work. I just had an AO Smith Hybrid system installed which works great and the all of the work looks neat, clean and well done. Hamblen worked with me to figure out the best, least costly options for some of the minor details. The end price was very accurate with their quote and was quite reasonable compared to other heating companies that I had contacted prior to choosing Hamblen .... primarily in that Tim actually answered the phone and called me back. Several of the other local firms that I contacted have yet to call me back after almost a week to even provide me with a quote!! I highly recommend Hamblen & Sons for any gas service related needs that you have and I will be contacting them in the future when I am ready for an upgrade of my HVAC system. Oh, and for those of you considering going to a tankless water heater, I highly suggest considering the AO Smith Next Hybrid unit instead. There are a number of added costs and details that can increase the cost of installing a tankless unit that do not apply to the AOS Hybrid, namely the BTU gas flow requirement and the ability to provide more hot water on an hourly basis (for multiple uses). read more

We decided to have a gas stove and oven installed in our kitchen, and had to have the existing propane line extended and an LP conversion kit installed. I moved into my new little house in 1989 and the water heater had a hamblen and sons decal. When the water heater failed after about 17 years we contacted Drew at hamblen. I was surprised at his care with clean dolly wheels on my carpet. And he did a difficult installation on a pedestal in a stairwell.So I called Hamblen again2013 for my new house with new carpet and was super pleased again. Again a difficult installation as I drew the plans and the dry wall positioning could have been better and the pipes were less than ideal placements and the drain pan had to be shaped. But Drew was a miracle worker and it fit. Today 2020 only cold water so I called Drew. With the heater out of warranty I totally expected to buy a new heater. But then Drew talked me thru a reset button and, although it didn't notably click or anything, the hot water was back 2 hours later. So Drew's consult saved me from buying a new heater--for now. Our gas fireplace insert went out in December. H&S were able to squeeze us in right away. They were up front about their pricing (which was reasonable) and what the appointment would entail. After they fixed our fireplace they took a look at our water heater. H&S explained the "general rules" for when to replace water heaters (ours was okay and didn't need to be replaced yet), gave us pricing information if we ever decide to replace, and explained upcoming regulation changes that could impact pricing in the future. Our water heater control box died, so I called Hamblen & Sons the next morning to get it repaired. From the serial number of my old tank Tim was able to tell me that it was almost 10 years old and that it might be a good idea to replace the whole heater rather than spend money on a unit that didn't have much life left. Tim and his son Drew got together and figured out that my water tank was not leaking, even though there was water on the floor underneath. As it turns out, the integrity of the shield for the heat sensor was broken, causing water to leak out of the control area of the heater. We hired Hamblen and Sons to install a gas line to our new stove, fix our fireplace and replace our furnace. All I can say is, they are wonderful. Both Tim and Drew were incredibly nice, and professional. They even took the time to replace our compression tank on our water heater. Now, we have an awesome gas stove, heat in our house (YAY!) and a fireplace that you can light with a press of a button via remote control. i was getting ready to go out of town for a pleasure trip in Sept 2016. I had recently had our gas furnace inspected when I noticed that our gas water heater was leaking. I knew my wife would not want to deal with this in my absence so I called our local appliance expert Judd and Black in Everett to get on their schedule for service. They informed me that they did not service gas appliances and recommended Hamblen and sons in Marysville. They specialize in gas appliances and water heaters are a major business focus. Within a day, Tim Hamblen was able to get me on their schedule and his son Drew arrived on Wednesday afternoon to install a new Rheem water heater. The install was uneventful and I could not have been more pleased. When I returned from my trip, I had the Snohomish County Inspection department down to sign off on the install. No problems! All has gone well, and I am now comfortable that we will have many years of service from the new unit. In August 2016 I had Hamblen & Sons extend my gas line to the kitchen for the range and the outdoor patio for a grill. A week later after my range was delivered they returned to install it. In April 2018 I had them return to hook up my new grill. Each time they were here, they were professional, on time, knowledgeable, and provided great service. We've used these guys twice. They ran a gas line in our old house, and when we moved, we called them up to do it again for the new place. Options were discussed and agreed upon before and during. The only issue we had was when we decided to do the fitting ourselves, but couldn't get the caps off (we tried so hard!). There was a hiccup in communication - where we couldn't get a hold of anyone for about a week - but as it happened over Thanksgiving week, I think we can brush that off. They offered to come out and take off the caps / do the fittings, and they did at no charge. Will definitely use them again, if and when. read more

I recently had Drew install a new gas cooktop. I am updating all appliances and everyone was a month out. Fortunately, Drew was able to come install my cooktop within a day of having the granite installed. The other company I was waiting for was going to be two weeks just to come out and look at the cooktop to tell me how much it would cost to install it and it would have been another month for them to install it. I was so grateful to be able to use my cooktop and not have to wait a month! It only took Drew about 1-1/2 hours to install.
