The team asking for money on top of the insurance before the work is done rude customer service couldn't explain I was paying for was told I had to pay before making the next appointment. Already billed the insurance company $5k and still wanted money from me then turn very rude after I asked what am I paying for. I Payed a down payment anyway t was told needed someone there to be with me doing the surgery I brought my husband. I had my insurance company to order a to and from ride. They tell me they won't do the surgery because my husband did not drive me. The dentist said he could lose his license because my husband did not drive me. So you needed someone there to help me the perfect person who can handle things when someone else is driving. So he is supposed to handle things and drive at the same time. Not a good dentist at all. I've had ongoing issues with Smyrna Dentist Office dentist office for over four years. Even though the owners have changed, multiple problems still continue to exist. Previously the problems were with an incompetent dentist, poor quality materials - products snd poor record keeping. SMYRNA DENTIST OFFICE repaired the same crown 4 times, did a root canal, then ended up having to pull the! During the extraction I felt like I was going to pass out. I kept telling Dr. Yada that she was hurting me!! Her words were, " I'm almost done! " Now the problems are with booking of appointments, lack of open and honest communication, tying up my finances and insurances without solving the problem and not taking patients seriously!!! Last week I arrived at an appointment 10 minutes late, due to the traffic and I was informed that I was 45 minutes late. This is not true according to the time that was given to me by the scheduler! So I rescheduled Today I arrived 35 minutes early for my 4 o'clock appointment and there is no one there. When I called the emergency number to find out what the problem was I was informed that I was the 2nd person to call regarding the doors being locked and the office closed! I was also told that I was not on the scheduled even though I called Monday of this week to confirm my appointment for today at 4 PM. Two nights ago my gum hurt so bad I could not even sleep so I had to take medicine to sleep. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!! I had an appointment on the 18th of January for a simple cleaning. I came to this office as a new patient based upon a search via what was in-network. Another appeal was that I was five minutes away from my apartment. I should have known things would have went down hill when I entered to an empty front desk for over ten minutes. The customer service was subpar which includes the medical assistants and the dentist. The assistant took an excessive number of X-rays, until another young lady came in to correctly utilize the machine and capture what was needed in one shot. In between attempts at scanning my mouth, I'm having to awkwardly place a device which left me feeling sore. I make it to a back room and sit in a chair to and the young lady that struggled to take the X Rays couldn't find the scans she JUST uploaded. This means we go BACK to take MORE X- RAYS. Finally, when scans are captured, she DROPS the device that goes into your mouth on the floor and DOES NOT clean it off. She also cusses and jokingly says to not report her. I finally have go into a room to have my cleaning and while I'm reclining in a chair with goggles and a paper bib around my neck, the front desk assistant comes in with an iPad to explain my benefits, cost, and to virtually sign a form. That is a great time to go over paperwork from the literal dentist chair! I came into also have my crown re-cemented on. Simple enough, as they explained. The crown came off within HOURS of me leaving the practice, in which I came back the NEXT DAY. Overall, the first visit for a simple cleaning and recementing was about 3 HOURS of a torture visit due their HORRIBLE time management. When I came back in the next day to have the crown basically glued back on, it came back off the SAME DAY!.. YET AGAIN! After visiting another dentist office, the NEW dentist within minutes realized my teeth moved too much and a new tooth was required. My replacement tooth has been successfully cemented back on with no issues!! it feels better than the original :) However, this was from a dentist that was over 30min away. Lesson learned; I will travel for great service than down the street for horrible service. This was the biggest waste of time, money, and energy! I should have known something was up when the dentist was casually texting with the door open to her office as though she was in her cubicle listening to music. Thanks, but No Thanks! read more

I have been in pain for my teeth for a long time. When i finally got insurance and I made my appointment a month in advance. March 8, 2022 was my appointment. I arrived early the business was closed. There was no note on the door, I received no phone call or email. I spent hours trying to find another place to go so I could be treated. On Thursday I called into the office explained my frustration and said I needed a note from my job. I was told I could not be provided for one. Listen if you want to go to an office where staff is texting on their phone, gossiping about their co-workers, long wair times,horrible customer service and unprofessionalism well you have found your place. I rarely write reviews, but this place pushed me to write one. I tried this office for over two years because it was a great location for me. During that time, I found the whole office very unprofessional and disorganized. Once I came in to pick up a mouth guard at the scheduled time, and they weren't prepared for my arrival. I left and had to pick it up another day. Another time, I came for a cleaning. After waiting 20ish minutes in the front, I was taken to the back where I waited 20 more minutes in the chair. After cleaning my teeth, the girl said the dentist was "running late with a meeting out of the office" so after having my teeth cleaned I waited 30 more minutes. Finally, I left and paid without seeing the dentist. The final straw was a few weeks ago when I had to reschedule an appointment time -- I set everything up for the new appointment time, but the morning of my original appointment they called to see where I was. The professional equipment in this office + location is what kept me coming back, but I need an office I can depend on. Expect to wait when you arrive for your appointment. Also, the personal touch present at some dentist offices just isn't present in this one. Sadly, totally don't recommend. read more

The dentists may be fine; however, the business portion of this place is wretched. After they tried to scam me into a procedure that I know I did not need, I made four calls requesting to verify the price of a different procedure, only to be placed on hold for 15 minutes or more EACH TIME and never actually get to speak to the person who could answer my question. I was promised multiple times that I would receive a call back, which never happened. I requested my x-rays be released to my new dentist and that never happened. I made a call and spoke to a nice woman who assured me I'd get them by Monday morning. Never arrived. Called her back only to find out she worked in another office and couldn't help me. Drove to the office to get them in person, only to find out they were CLOSED. There was no notice they would be closed and not even a sign on the door. I recently went in for a procedure which was ok. No issues when I arrived they told me what my part of the procedure I had to pay. Which I've done and told me that my insurance part would be taken care of. I'm thinking everything is fine. I received a bill from my insurance company advising me that it's not paid . Due to Smyrna Dental not coding the bill correctly and not advising me of this from the initial visit. My insurance company is now trying to say it may be my responsibility. REALLY.. I had very severe oral pain just before the Memorial Day holiday. I had previously come to Smyrna Dentist in 2018 and didn't plan on going back however they were the only one able to squeeze me in for an emergency appointment. I had to have 2 root canals which they started that day and placed a temporary cap. Issue 1: My appointment to complete the root canal was literally TWO WEEKS LATER. Issue 2: the pain medicine prescribed was so inefficient I drove myself to the ER at 3:30 am because I couldn't sleep. Issue 3: When I showed up to complete my root canal I was informed my out of pocket bill had increased from what I was previously quoted. Issue 4: I was also informed I would have to come back in a week to get the permanent crown because apparently they no longer do same day crowns (at this point it will be 23 days to resolve my issue) Issue 5: one of the temporary crowns feel out not even 4 hours after the root canal was complete. My numbness hadn't even worn off completely and this issue could have been avoided had they placed my permanent crown that day. Issue 6: I show up bright and early the next morning to get the crown replaced and I'm informed my options are to wait around for some unknown amount of time for the dental assistant to see me OR wait the SIX DAYS until my permanent crown schedule. I have never been to a dentist and waited over an hour and half before even getting my teeth cleaned. Then when I asked how long it will be for my cleaning, they said it would be another hour and a half!! So that would of put me at 3 hours in the dentist office!! I will not be back. Office closed with no explanation, multiple calls to their answering service only to get told they are changing "Providers", which means they are changing dentists for the 4th time in 4 years. This office has had good dentists, but they can't seem to keep them. The management of the office is a mess. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Wells at Smyrna Dental was lacking on all fronts. Although the office managers and dental hygienist were great, I had no such luck with Dr. Wells. My experiences with her were very unpleasant. She made me feel like there was nothing she could do for me--I actually felt shunned. After not being treated with common courtesy, I'm done. I had the worst experience in my life Dr Williams (oral surgeon). He showed ZERO compassion. I have anxiety with needles and shared that with him and his assistant (white male) in the beginning. The white guy who assistant begin to speak down to me saying well don't be "grabbing at us, kicking, etc". I told him I wouldn't and that I had been thru this. And he went on to say"I've been doing this longer then you've been alive". As a professional, who chose to become a dentist you would think that you would have more experience with asstanting patients thru tough times. But NOPE!!! For the first time I am re-writing my review out of fairness to this office. I submitted a much more caustic review before when it seemed the recommended treatment plan which has been validated in some parts by visits with 2 other providers. There is a wider issue with transparency in the dental profession that social media helps but does not solve. Unless you have the Cadillac of dental insurance plans (i.e. you will owe nothing after whatever the dear Dr Williams suggests), be super clear about what's covered vs what's not, what's required and what's a nice-to-have. With that said, this is a common issue with any medical / dental profession as the provider seeks to solve the problem they are presented with, as they see it and based on the training they received. read more

Just terrible!!! Like another reviewer I went because it was convenient to where I live. Very unorganized, long wait times. They didn't even inform me that the dentist I was supposed to continue my care with had left the practice. After sitting in the chair they tried to push gum implant surgery from a dentist I didn't even talk to or meet yet. I left out knowing that I WAS NEVER COMING BACK!!!! I started going to this office a year ago. I actually have really bad anxiety with dental care due to a traumatic event 10 years ago. With thy being said I could not take the staff in the front they are not very friendly but they weren't the ones working on my teeth so I decided to stay with them. Fast forward to now I had appt with the office. They called me Friday to confirm appt and told me I needed to confirm to solidify appt. I call back the morning of because I was out of the country and the girl who answered was not friendly. I asked her since I didn't confirm is my appt canceled she said "Your appt is scheduled for 11am". I said ok because the lady who called me Friday made it seem like that so to confirm for future appt I stayed is that not the case. She said "your appt is at 11". She said it as if I'm stupid but I called straight off a plane with Jet lag trying to give them a heads up and see if I could still make it. This office needs training on customer experience. I was there for an hour and 15 minutes before they started cleaning my teeth. I was also "informed" or "advised" by the Dental Assistant and Hygienist that based on my numbers around my gums and recession, I may need a deep clean. I am in my 40's and have never been told that before. Also, I was told I have or must have had periodontal disease and that my recession was due to this. I have never been told I had periodontal disease. Then I was told I needed to meet with a benefits coordinator to review the plan and the cost. We have government insurance and I had already verified my insurance coverage before making the appointment and my cleanings are always covered at 100%. When the dentist was made aware of my concerns he addressed them in a very arrogant way. In the end I did not need a deep clean and left after almost 2 hours. read more

This is by far, the BEST dental office in Atlanta. I moved here a few months ago, they excepted my insurance so I decided to try them out. They were able to get me in the next day. The front desk was extremely friendly, the office is very modern, very clean and comfortable. Dr. Johnson was so helpful, he explained everything to me. They even offer very flexible payment plans and were able to fill my cavities the same day. Angelica took my xrays with care and concern. Erika assisted Dr. Ambrin with gentleness and reassurance. Nikki and Jenn handled the paperwork with astounding aplomb. Their smiles -- alone -- could light the Las Vegas Strip all by themselves. While I will require extensive work, for once, I am gleefully lQQking forward to it as this is the hands down best dental appointment I have ever experienced in my lifetime. I absolutely love each of the professional and sweet members of this dental team. Dr. Fathima is so careful, kind, and gentle!! Really never had a dentist be so gentle, thorough, and still FAST enough that I can come and leave within my lunch break. The X-rays are digital, so I don't have to worry about too much radiation exposure, especially if I am pregnant before I come back. Each dental chair is in its own private room and each chair has a flat screen with cable tv! Such a nice perk. Even if this office didn't have all that, Dr. Fathima constantly asks if I'm okay, if anything hurts, and that kind of bedside manner is KEY for me when it came to choosing this same-day-dentistry approach, after a lot of googling! I visited the Smyrna Dental Office earlier this year. It was a painful and very unpleasant experience. For starters, the front desk staff is surfing the internet nonstop on their cell phones... Not a good sign... Then the time management in that office is a mess ... There is a good chance you spend an entire afternoon there while the dentist (Dr. Mantique Johnson) is multi-tasking patients. I needed a crown, but must say the procedure was extremely painful ... at some point I just about jumped out of the seat... Once it was all done, the fitting and the margins on the crown were just horrible ... the surface of the crown was not smooth as well ... and felt very unnatural ... I contemplated to go back to get it all re-done, but that thought crossed my mind about a second before I reminded myself how painful (literally) the visit was. I will NEVER go back. They are the worse. All the previous reviews that stated they take forever and are arrogant were absolutely correct about the service they render at this location. The front staff is dismissive, and once you get to the back, they continue to be rude despite the fact you're expected to pay them hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Having tvs in every room and looking "up to date" doesn't cut it. Customer service and true care for patients matters more to me, and it clearly doesn't to them. First visit, had an appointment, they saw me 2.5 hours later. 2nd time, called in day of, waited 2 hours and ended up leaving because they were both rude and, as I saw a previous poster post, the things the dentist said needed to be done and why ended up not even being true or correct to address my needs and the actual tooth I needed when to be done on.
