My response to JLS Paving's comments of my review: I did not lie about anything I wrote and I still stand by the review I wrote because it is TOTALLY true. I also stand by the emails I sent because at the time I wrote them, I was under the impression that Jack the Jerk was the person that I thought he was where he came to my condo. I also do not deny one single word that is in the emails between me and Rachel. Jack was everything I said about him when I met him. He appeared to be genuine and he was funny. However, I was explicit and crystal clear with Jack and Rachel regarding what I needed, a WRITTEN estimate and a proposal, not an off the cuff figure of "about $3000" given to me over the phone after waiting to get the write up that Jack told me he was going back to the office to do! So no, I chose NOT to do business with a company that employs a person such as Jack turned out to be. He did not have the decency to tell me himself but he had the gall to relay it to me by Rachel, while I was on hold! The reply, that she said came from Jack, is what I received! He knew very well that I had NOT asked him to "start" any kind of work without first getting an estimate and proposal. Only an idiot or a fool would do that, and I can assure YOU Mr. JLS Paving that I am neither. You are just trying to cover up for Jack so that what he LIED about does not smell as foul as it was! I do NOT care how long he has been in the business, he lied and did not have the decency to own up to the REAL reason he would not provide the written estimate and proposal as he told me he would. If that is any example of how your employees conduct business, I'm glad that it was exposed beforehand. You can say or post every single word of every email exchange between me and Rachel because when I wrote them I was telling the truth the same as my review of what Jack said but didn't do. Yes, I was contacted by someone who said that he wanted to make "things right" but sorry, I was not interested in more lies. It is said that you only get one chance to make a first impression, well Jack made that first impression for you. You can post my email, my name, whatever you want to use to make yourself look like an upstanding business person. Go ahead, I have nothing to hide and did not make up one single thing that I wrote. So if anyone is at fault or trying to sully the "good reputation" of a business that you worked to build over however many years you put in your comment, then YOU need to address that with Jack, the person your company sent to provide me with a written estimate and proposal. He knows that I DID NOT ask, imply, or send him subliminal messages that I expected him to begin working on anything BEFORE I had gotten what I needed if I wanted to move forward. No one else had any problem giving me written estimates and proposal, not some glib response over the phone. If it's not in writing it's not acceptable, or binding, like the when Jack said that he was "going to go to the office and write it up, then I'm done for today." I do have an excellent memory. I have one thing to say about the ethics you are attempting to portray about my review. There had been a glowing review posted here when I did my first review. It was posted by someone named "Rachel" with the initial "S". It's been a while but I'm 99.99% sure that it was. Why was it removed? Could it possibly be that this "Rachel S" is the person that I had been talking to by phone and sending my misguided emails to? Hmm! No need to reply but THAT is EXACTLY the reason it was removed. So do NOT go getting all self righteous about the TRUTH I posted because I was fed a bunch of lies by Jack when the person who posted that glowing review works for you and if I recall correctly, I do believe the "Rachel" that I had been talking to and emailing said she was your wife! I wonder how Yelp found out? People in glass houses should be careful before they start throwing stones. read more
