I own a 2000 BMW 528i with a manual trans in very good original condition, that I've had for many yeas and love driving it - perhaps the last "5-speed" I'll ever own. Recently, it's been unable to pass smog due to the check engine light being on. I took it to several BMW "Specialists" who had diagnosed it with several ailments, including a failed "DISA" valve and the estimates to "fix" the check engine light ran into the thousands. One guy suggested that I send the car to the wrecking yard (YIKES!). Based on all of the good reviews, I brought it to JMC and Manny was awesome! He immediately found out that the car had been mis-diagnosed - the DISA valve was fine and all that it needed was a minor solenoid/valve. Also understanding that spending thousands on a 27-year-old car wasn't going to work, he fixed me up with a used part and my $300 repair turned-off my check engine light and got the car to pass smog! Very bad service. The guy messed up my car more than it was in the first place. He knows how he tried to scam us and change prices and all that. He did something to my BMW. He can respond to this if he wants but he messed with the wrong person because I am reporting him to every business I can. He is wrong for what he done. I didn't get that 5 star service. I'm sure he has to take parts from some cars in order to fix others so he picks who he will scam. I do not recommend this place. No receipts, you might have your car parts stolen or broken on purpose. He might even promise original parts but the parts are from other vehicles that probably are left there when the client just can no longer pay for repairs. You can't mess with people lives like that. Great service!!! I needed to get my battery replaced on my BMW. I called Manuel up one afternoon. He showed up the very next morning with a BMW factory battery that was even higher capacity than my existing battery. He was on time (even a little earlier). He texted when he left with an ETA. He was in constant communication with me via text and explained his process to me in detail. He hooked up his laptop to my car, checked all of the error codes (even texted me pictures of his computer screen), replaced my battery, and coded/registered the new battery. Manuel (Manny) is Awesome. I got his number from a friend, and called him asking how much it would cost to replace all of my window regulators on my 540i E39. He gave me quote, and said hat he's mobile, so he was able to come to my house. Mind you he lives in Hawthorne, and i live in Atwater Village, that is a crazyyyy drive during the weekdays. Since it was a multiple window job, he brought a tech with him, i showed him the parts, and they started. They completed the job within an hour and even gave me a discount. One of the regulators wasn't OEM, and his tech says, "Want the truth about this part?" I say, "yeah." he says, "You got this from Ebay, i can tell. Honestly its a crappily made part, and will probably give you about 300-400 clicks (window clicks). Im sure you will call us back in a few months, and bring us an OEM part to install. Is that ok with you?" me: "Yeah man i know. BMW didnt have this part, but i need it fixed for now. Ill order the OEM part just in case this one craps out." and 400 clicks later... the part died. HE CALLED IT!!!!! So i call Manny, and he invites me to his service location to replace the crap part and put in the new OEM regulator (the IG picture i added on here). He fixed it, gave me all the tips and tricks on owning and maintaining these types of BMW's, and even gave me a discount. Manny is cool as hell. He's real with you. You just have to understand the car that you have, and how much maintenance costs. I went to Manny's shop with some concerns about my +200,000 mile 2008 BMW 328i. I was worried it was my head gasket (very expensive repair) but right away he knew the problem was actually a much less expensive repair. With good diagnostic tools and years of experience he was able to fix the problem and point out some other issues with the car. As it turns out I have researched and worked on E90 BMWs for more then 5 years. Every recommendation he made was on point, he made all the repair for a good reasonable price with a 1 year guarantee and did a great job.
