This review is to express our total satisfaction with Mr. Jose Soto. He not only gave us a very reasonable price (the lowest out of three quotes), was responsive even when we asked if the price were negotiable, and behaved with professionalism and courtesy throughout, but also did a very neat job on the old pine tree we asked him to remove. The tree itself had several branches that potentially threatened the roof, and he carefully trimmed and thinned them, including the removal of two very large limbs. The job took him two sessions and we were so happy with his work that we gave him the original quote. Strongly recommend that anyone who needs a tree trimmed or cut use JMS in the future. read more

I am so pleased to be the first to review Jose Soto's JMS Landscaping Maintenance & Tree Service. I call Jose the guy that made our garden dreams come true - he saved our bacon the very first time we met! We'd made a costly investment with another landscaper and had $1000 worth of plants delivered to our house. The other landscaper backed out on putting them in the ground, and we thought we'd lose them to the heat for sure. A realtor we knew gave Jose her highest recommendation and told us to call, saying he'd saved many a homeowner before. Fortunately Jose and Lupe were able to make some time that very day, showed up and did a fantastic job finishing our project in less time and much less expensively than the other contractor, with a minimum of hassle. I hired him on the spot for our monthly maintenance and it's been a great decision. Jose is super comfortable to talk to, knows about every kind of plant and tree, is very easy to work with, and spends time with you to understand what your goal for your property is. Then he goes out and without any hassle, fulfills everything you ask him to do and more. As Jose is a licensed tree trimmer, we asked him to trim and shape our back hedge that had grown wildly out of control. He came in under spec, and he and Lupe made the hedge a thing of beauty. They worked on it for hours, caught and disposed of all the branches as part of the service and wore cheerful smiles throughout. You can tell they really love what they do, and with fifteen years in the business, actually know what they're talking about. I can't recommend Jose Soto and JMS highly enough. Jose has been a delight to do business with. Him and his employees have been maintaining our yard wonderfully since January of this year. At the very beginning of the year we had our sewer line replaced, which meant a big huge chunk of our front yard had been completely dug up and ruined whatever grass that was left. He offered a great deal to go ahead and even out the whole front yard, providing fresh mineral-rich soil and beautiful green layers of grass. He grooms our bushes well and even made our lemon tree look cute again, like it belonged in a French garden somewhere. It's always a pleasure to see his positive attitude and admirable work ethic, knowledge of land grooming and 'scaping in full effect. He mentioned to us, he is a great go-to guy if we are ever considering selling the house. He does great landscape designs similar to staging to up-sell the value of the house and reel house buyers in quickly. All around great attitude, competitive prices and wonderful job on our yard. Jose and his crew are extremely professional, efficient, caring and reasonable. We needed an area at our house landscaped a week before a party at our house. Jose and team have been taking care of my yard maintenance, but I recently asked them to take on a big job thinning out and trimming two very large redwoods in my backyard that had become overgrown. They had comparable pricing to some of the bigger companies, but since they've done a great job on my yard maintenance, I decided to move forward with Jose. They did a professional job protecting the landscaping/hardscaping and understood the importance of maintaining good relationship with the neighbors. They removed the criss-cross growth between the closely spaced trees, lifted the canopy away from the roof, and thinned out branches from top to bottom. I am a repeat customer. Jose appeared at the appointed time, gave me an estimate to trim a very tall tree. The estimate was very close to what I paid him 3 years ago for the same job. His team showed up a couple of days later on time and before they started Jose showed up to make sure that we were all in agreement on what needed to be done. Jorge, the head of the team listened to my concerns about respecting my neighbor's properties and he personally went next door to ask for permission to enter my neighbor's yard to clean up. The workers did their job efficiently and carefully and cleaned up everywhere when they were through, including blowing the sawdust off my neighbor's car and cleaning his driveway, my driveway and walkway as well as the street and my back yard and my neighbor's back yard. He and his men helped me move the patio furniture back into place before they left. I called the payment into their office as soon as they were done and Maria in the office took care of everything - I had an electronic receipt within 5 minutes.
