He promised that a team would be on site every day, and my project would never get paused/put on the back burner until it was done, and that is what happened. We had a sprinkler valve that a plumber thought was not working properly and pumping some water out briefly when the sprinkler is shut down. A plumber recommended replacing the sprinkler valve, but Machtinger Landscaping came out and saved us from unnecessary repairs as it is working as it is supposed to and explained why. I now know to trust Machtinger Landscaping as opposed to a plumber who isn't qualified nor licensed to work with sprinkler systems. Earlier this year, Machtinger Landscaping installed a French drain around my house. They did a fantastic job so I contacted Noah Machtinger again, this time to help me with landscaping. My yard was in awful shape. It was an unsightly patch of mainly hard, brown dirt that wrapped around the perimeter of my house, punctuated with mounds of loose dirt kicked up by gophers. I wanted to transform my yard into an attractive garden but didn't know where to begin. Working with Ben, a landscape architect Noah recommended, we came up with a beautiful design that worked within our budget. The plan called for, among other things, installing a new irrigation system, a small lawn area, several trees, dozens of plants, and a pathway that wrapped around the yard. The project took four weeks to complete, and my wife and I are elated with the results! We now have a beautiful, inviting yard. Even our neighbors have offered passing compliments. From the very get-go, we had no doubts that Machtinger Landscaping would do a stellar job (as they did with our French drain). During the project, Noah often came to our house and briefed us on the progress, answered any questions we had, and made sure his crew had all the necessary tools and supplies so that there would be no delays in the work. Noah was awesome. I had a sprinkler valve that wouldn't turn off. One company wanted to trench the area around the sprinkler valve box and install 3 new valves and pipes for $200. Noah came out, removed the top of the valve and solenoid, inspected them, reinstalled them, and that fixed the issue within 15 minutes. If that didn't work, he would have replaced just the valve. He could have charged me but he didn't. He was super easy to work with, responded to my call quickly, and was easily accessible and accommodating when I had to change the appointment time. Noah and his team completed a 1-week job in our yard to improve drainage. We realized during last year's rains that we had some drainage issues and we wanted them address before winter. Noah's crew connected our downspouts to an underground drainage system (perforated pipes, NDS flo-well system, ...). We had one medium rain since the installation and the new drainage system seems to be working great. We really appreciate Noah's professionalism and follow-through. The crew had to break through a small band of concrete and we were not satisfied with the initial patch work, so Noah sent the crew back to fix it within 24 hours. The only way to fix it was to break the new concrete and start again, which took them a few hours, but the results are amazing. I definitely recommend Machtinger Landscaping and we will definitely work with them again when we have new projects. Noah's crew was very professional. They always left the work site clean at the end of each day and made sure everything was working (notably the sprinklers) at the end of the job. We had a really great experience with Noah and his crew. We asked them to build an enclosure for our backyard paved area, with raised beds and irrigation, since the squirrels in our area are relentless. We also asked to replace some of the plants around our yard that were not doing well or not very convenient. We got an estimate from Noah, along with a design for the yard and a few rounds of choices for replacement plants, as Noah got a sense of what we were looking for. Once the team started on the project, they were impeccably professional. The foreman, Ernesto, was really kind and willing to make last minute changes when we asked (for example, when I asked to move the netting to the inside of the enclosure door, after it had already been set up). The small details really mattered - for example, the team hooked up the irrigation to the central system as a separate zone, so we could water the raised beds a different amount than the yard plants. We asked for a small area to be cleared and covered with mulch as a play area, and they covered the ground with a cloth to prevent weeds from coming up under the mulch. And they set up the raised beds with drains to the sides, so that water coming out wouldn't stain the paving stones underneath.
