Went back to Jo Hibachi and got refund for sushi rolls, they were big and smushy. Lady im assuming was a (sushi chef) there said she was from Hawaii and did sushi for years and every sushi chef makes them different. Im from Orlando, Fl and purchased sushi for years, I never experienced that with sushi. I will not be purchasing sushi again from that restaurant ever again. I posted pictures of there sushi and the sushi place I always go to.

I've been coming here for at least 10 years and have never been disappointed. The food is always great and the staff is always nice. It can get pretty hot inside during the heat of the day, but I'm not sure if there is much they can do about that. We go about once a month and will continue to do so.

First time here. We were lured in by a the incredible prices on a menu we pulled up online because they don't have a website. We were surprised when we got here that the prices were a bit higher. HOWEVER...the prices are still good, given the fact that you get a lot of food for your money. So much so that even with just ordering their bowls, we had to take half of our food home. We ordered a chicken and a veggie (yummmmm) hibachi. They were both delicious. We also ordered the side salad, which comes with two containers of really delicious, ginger dressing. I would recommend this place; probably for take out though. It's a small place and A LOT of people. Easy to see why; the food is great and they have extremely fast service. In other words don't come here expecting to have a nice, quiet, romantic dinner. Be prepared to order your food at the counter first then grab a seat. I will say I had the most incredible Pepsi from their fountain. Likely it had just been refilled but OMG was it good! Also yum, is their Yum Yum sauce. Sooo good! I have taken a picture of a current menu (taken July 2023) so you have accurate menu prices. Also a couple pics of of meal.

This place is great. Simple dishes, cheap prices, and great taste. The only reason they get 4 over 5 stars is just due to the average wait time for your food, which is understandable due to the sheer popularity of this location. Give it a try when in the conway area! You will not be disappointed.

This is a nice American Sushi/Teppanyaki that uses an ordering style more familiar in Japan than…read moreUSA. The food is Japanese cuisine adjacent. You order by checking items on a laminated wipe-off page and it is brought to you. Don't order all of your dinner at once, take your time starters, soup, salad first. You may order as much as you want but it's considered exceptionally rude to waste food. Think of it as a buffet but instead of walking steam tables, you select what you want and it's prepared and brought to you. If you don't know what you like, try from 1-2 piece selections first. Pay attention to the * on items. There's a clear warning that raw and undercooked dishes have some risks. If you have weak tummy or immune, don't eat those. Also use caution if you have strong allergies - especially shellfish - as that's a common worry with any sushi/sashimi place. These dishes lean "California Style" but cover most diets. You will have a much better experience if you don't over-order any round. It's not expensive unless you've never eaten in the Grand Strand. Especially buffet style. There is no buffet that allows you to share a plate or take-home free. This IS a buffet just with a different food service model than most are accustomed to. It's also not a place for kids unless you know they eat this menu. They'll complain and you'll pay too much for it. Ambiance can be very nice and borders intimate. It's not Tokyo authentic but we're not in Tokyo. We (4) ate on Memorial Day Weekend '26 evening for just about $40 per seat. We all enjoyed our own preferences of Sushi, Sashimi, and Hibachi. We also all ate our fill over two hours. We'll be back, it's in our rotation. Wheelchair accessible with NO obstacles. Very attentive servers.

The spread is legit impressive with tons of options and the portions are generous so you don't feel like you're hunting for the last piece of everything. I went straight for the sashimi and honestly crushed it. Every single kind I tried was super fresh, great texture, and actually tasted really good. Nothing fishy or off about any of it. The rolls were solid too, however we didn't try their hibachi so I can't say anything about those items. For the price, the quality is honestly hard to beat around here. We've got a few sushi spots nearby but this one is quickly becoming one of my go to favorites in the area. If you're in Conway and craving sushi without breaking the bank, do yourself a favor and hit this place up. We'll definitely be back!

This evening was a very good experience, mostly. Let's get the less than positive out of the way. We made reservations for 5PM. We were out and about and got there about a half an hour early. Walk in, spoke with the hostess and explained we knew we were early. (By the way, there were very few people in the restaurant at the time). The Hostess, an older female with longish greying hair, huffed then showed us to a table. She at least took us to an outside table as we requested. She never identified herself. And honestly we felt as if we were bothering her. Ok, enough of that. Now the positive. Our server was Taylor. This young man was awesome. He was upbeat and personable. Very pleasant and wanted to communicate, not just serve us. My wife and I asked for water, and ordered an appetizer of their Mac and Cheese balls. They were awesome. Hot, fresh, stuffed with pasta and warm flavorful cheese. Next we ordered cocktails. My wife ordered a Painkiller. Me an Old Fashion. Taylor recommended I try their version, New Fashion. Made with their mix of a house Bourbon. Man it was good. And the Painkiller? Let's just saw I held my wife hand, and guided her to our vehicle. For our main courses, my wife had the chicken and sausage pasta. I had the Bison Ribeye. Both we would order again without hesitation. The pasta dish was huge. With two breasts and numerous pieces of sausage. Over Fettuccini style pasta, with a lite and flavorful red sauce. It tasted fresh, and rich. She could only eat about a third of it. The rest came home. I ordered my Bison medium rare. The Chef hit it perfectly. Beautiful red meat in the center, nice and warm. So much flavor, and tender. With it I had the potato of the day. They were mashed with the skin. Full of butter, milk, and seasoned. In addition I had a side of creamed spinach. Very rich and deep. The cream tasted similar to a cheese sauce. So good. I brought nothing home. Finished the entire meal there. In addition, because it was our anniversary, the gave us a very nice card. And a piece of cake for dessert. Champaign was offered, but neither of us drink it, and didn't want to waste it. If you haven't tried Crooked Oak Tavern, you are missing a very nice experience.

The host very kindly escorted me there & what a great surprise! The Tap Room host, Joanne, saw me looking a bit lost & greeted me. I didn't want to take a whole table as I was just there for a cocktail. Joanne suggested one of the leather lounge chairs & got me settled. She made me feel very comfortable. I'm old school enough that as a woman I felt awkward being in an unfamiliar town in a bar full of strangers. Joanne reassured me & checked on me throughout the evening. I had a fabulous Old Fashion, enjoyed the multiple TV's & ended up conversing & laughing with a whole family who were also visiting. All around, a great experience that all started with Joanne taking me under her wing & making me feel comfortable. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in Conway!
