Old world charm, rustic and friendly. Great place to get in the vacation mood while tasting alligator or fry bread. Grouper taco's were also good. Nice selection of beers and drinks.

Joanie's Blue Crab Cafe 3-23-25 I was down in the area and had to stop by this place. Walked in right after they opened on a Sunday. Just a couple tables were busy, so we found a table quick. You must do what I call the 3G's when you walk in 1 Grab a drink 2 Grab a menu and 3 Grab a table easy peasy. Our waitress Lana was very friendly and answered any questions we had about the menu. We ordered the two Crab Cake Sandwich & Fries, She Crab Soup, Grilled Corn on the Cob, Swamp Dog & Fries, Cheeseburger & Sweet Potato Fries, Chicken Strips & Sweet Potato Fries, Coleslaw and Key Lime Pie for Dessert. Our appetizer grilled Corn and She Crab Soup came out first. The Soup was very good, and the Grilled Corn was amazing. Our main orders were delivered shortly afterwards. The Crab Cake Sandwich was very good and large enough both of us could not finish all of it. The Swap Dog was a Foot long and just packed with toppings. It was so big it was hard to finish. The Cheeseburger and Chicken Fingers were excellent. All our Fries we very good and so was the Sweet Potato Fries. Even the Coleslaw which was home made was very good. The Key Lime Pie was some of the best I had in this area. All our food was hot and very tasty, and I was amazed just how good everything was. No complaints from any of the seven of us. The waitresses Lana and Lisa were on the ball and checked on us a bunch of times and kept our tables cleared when we finished a plate. I loved the decor of this place as I take to the old Florida theme. One thing I will add the Men's Restroom you may not want your youngsters to go in as there are pictures of topless women all over the walls, now that's old school. Seriously this place has a very cool factor and some of the best food in the area. You get this way you must stop here. I give this place a 5 out of 5 stars for the great food, good service, coolness factor and such a great vibe with all the waitresses. Follow Me On Fb For More Reviews Gulf Coast Terry

Great spot! Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. It is small so don't go if you are in a hurry. The service was super friendly!

This is a fun touristy place to stop on the Tamiami trail. It's got a kitschy fun feel to it, with a big interior and a nice porch in the back I sat at. I felt out of place going in as a vegetarian who doesn't normally frequent this kind of restaurant, but I ended up having a good time! I also got to try a local beer from the cooler. I wish they had some sort of entree/sandwich for vegetarians. However, I ordered 3 things that were all decadent and yummy: hush puppies that were just the right crispiness with a softer interior and very flavorful spices, corn that was way tastier than any other place I've ordered corn at, and a good slice of key lime pie , which is normally one of my least favorite kinds. Good memorable place to go while traveling through to sample the area's specialties.

Went to Joanie's on my way through the Everglades with my son. Gator bites were really tasty and this place has a great atmosphere. Great location and very good setting for lunch in the Everglades. Service staff are local, extremely friendly and informative. Great conversation and information about the area.

Key lime pie, comes with 2 forks. Waitress said 2nd fork should be used to stab the hand of anyone who tries to take any of my pie!!

Been on my bucket list forever. Flew down from Asbury park NJ and finally went to Joanie's. Very cool roadside food shack. Old as dirt and just awesome. Our waitress made the experience awesome. She was just the nicest friendliest lady you could ever meet. We got some basic food, burgers and fish sandwich. Burgers were a bit over seasoned compared to what we choke down up north so that might just be some down home Everglades awesomeness we weren't ready for, grouper sandwich was ok, food won't blow you away but if you are hungry it will do just fine. Go here if you have never been. I'm trying to squeeze in a second trip here before I fly home.

The best spot in the Everglades to grab lunch. Fried everything as you would expect. Standard fare, but well executed and generous portions. Fun staff and quick service. Great for families.

Excellent pulled pork sandwich and mahi-mahi tacos. I liked that the salad had fresh mango pieces.

Service was a nightmare. Waitress was frustrated and beyond overwhelmed. Food was mediocre at best.

It is a casual seafood restaurant located on the Barron River which connects to the Gulf. There are a few parking spaces in front otherwise it's free street parking where you can find it. There is a school across the street so parking can fill quickly. Most of the seating area is outside so you enter and then find an empty table. Menus are on the table and then a server arrives and takes your order. If the weather is right sitting next to the water is a nice calming experience. I sat in a screen enclosed covered patio. My order was for the fried grouper sandwich with french fries and cole slaw for $27. Yes grouper is expensive. The meal arrived about 10 minutes later. The fried fish fillet sitting in on the long bun was HUGE and it looked delicious too. I was very happy and then I started to eat it. Everything with that sandwich was excellent except its taste. It was the batter for me. The taste wasn't bad at all but it didn't stand out to me. Whatever batter they use to fry with is not my favorite and that is the only reason I don't give a 4 score here. The french fries were excellent in taste and showed me that Triad's puts effort in making them. Also the slaw was cool and a nice palate cleanser. The table service was friendly and attentive. I like Triad's and would be happy to return. But I would probably try something else on the menu that isn't fried. The batter taste is my opinion and I'm sure others will disagree. Another fact about eating here is that they charge 3.5% more for credit cards use. With an iced tea, tax and tip, my lunch cost $40...kind of expensive for Everglades City, FL.

We also had planned to go back with a group later this year. First, even though we asked to be seated indoors, they insisted we sit outside. There were only two others at the restaurant. The inside was empty but the owner later explained they were cleaning it. I thought the prices were high and they offered no lunch specials. But, going on prior Yelp reviews, I was led to believe the food was above par. Sadly, the food was OK but not great, and not worth the price. To top it off, they automatically add a 20% tip. I know restaurants do that with large parties but certainly inappropriate for a party of two. Service was good but I don't like to be forced to pay an automatic 20% tip. Tipping is done based on how good your service is -- so I would get stuck paying 20% even if service was awful? What I found to be off putting were the responses from the owners to reviewers; particularly, on Google. They accuse everyone who posts a bad review of posting a fake review and/or they got extremely defensive. Wow! How about a little humility and attempts to fix things. Sure wish I had seen the Google reviews prior to making my trip to Everglades City. I chose this place due to the great Yelp reviews I read. I should have checked all of the reviews because the bad ones were way more accurate.
