Stone crabs, crab cakes and sides
    Pam M.

This was exactly the on the water vibe we were looking for. The stone crabs and crab cakes were excellent. Our server Shaina gave wonderful fast friendly service, but not rushed. Even though we stayed beyond closing time. The homemade pecan pie was also very good Currently not open for dinner but perfect for a late lunch. This review would have been 5 stars but the 6% fee for credit card bumped it to a 4

    grouper finger basket $26.99

Back again for a great meal. Ordered a Grouper Basket Fried just like last time. $26.99 Menu doesn't say Fillet or Fingers, Your choice. Before it was a fillet. SURPRISE.. Today it was Fingers. Still really good. I asked the server why the change. Said people complained when they got a fillet so they made the change to fingers. Would make more sense to give a choice. Still it is worth the drive if you want to take a road trip just to get away.

Beautiful area and seating. Waitress was pleasant as well. Food was okay, would probably try something else next time but my table got some other items that were good. Prices were on the higher end, about $35 for my drink and meal

This is a great place to stop for a casual lunch before or after going on one of the nearby airboat tours. We had some stone crabs, fried green tomatoes, a grouper sandwich, with macaroni salad, hush puppies, and French fries on the side, along with cold beer. The food was great!

Great food! Had the large claws and gator bites! Service was phenomenal! Laid back old FL restaurant! I'll definitely be back our next drive through to the keys!

Take a ride through the Everglades and find your way to Triad seafood, one of our favorite places to visit. Beautiful setting with tables right on the water. Food that is ALWAYS on point; perfectly fried green tomatoes with feta cheese, delicious conch fritters, medium claws are an all time favorite and the side dishes do not disappoint (I have a hush puppy addiction!) Wrap that up with some great service and a refreshing beer...Sundays never felt so good . Ps...they do close at 4:00 on Sunday so don't be late!

Stone crab!! Delicious but not cheap.

If you make a trip down to Everglade City, I think Triad is worth a stop. We found it when visiting the area last year, and enjoyed it enough to return on our visit this year. This is a small fish market, and back home we would call a place like this "seafood in the rough". There are outdoor picnic tables, some covered and some seats overlooking the river. Fun to watch the pelicans and other wildlife. You are also permitted to throw your stone crab shells over the railing into the water. Not sure if the birds are interested, but there were quite a few pelicans! We came for the stone crabs and as expected they were fresh and delicious. The only pain point is the price. Stone crabs are expensive and it seems the price goes up every time. As it was lunch, we ordered one plate and split it for a very light lunch. Hush puppies and sweet potato fries were delicious. Coconut shrimp were OK, not among the best we've had in the area. Key lime pie was delicious! They seemed understaffed and service was slow. If you pack a cooler you can stop in the fish market and purchase some to bring home.

Fresh seafood. Every bite delicious. I had fried shrimp. Partner had the crab. Friendly server. Rustic and Right on the water.

Where the locals eat!!! This place was recommended to us by several locals. And, oh man, it delivered! Excellent seafood!!! The biggest Stone Crab I have ever had! I have had Stone Crab all over the country, and the price point is about the same and the size of the claw is about the same. For the same price point, Triad gives you a bigger claw. I guess that is the advantage of being a local, they have the pick, so to say....... I also got the soft shelled crab, locally sourced and the best soft shell crab I have ever had. Sitting out back, in the screened area provided a shaded view of the water. We really enjoyed our visit and the service was excellent.

Crab cakes are very good! Worth the wait. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Our son loves the cheeseburger and my wife's grilled shrimp were perfect!

I came into town for Thanksgiving and my boyfriend decided to take me to go on an airboat tour to see alligators in real life! I noticed that next to where we were at for a boat rides, there was a place that sold stone crab. I told him I never had it before, but my mom said that her friends loved it. Stone crabs happen to be in season now. After going to see the animal sanctuary, we decided to try to find a place to have stone crab to share for the sake of having it at a place where it would be very fresh. Google maps took us to some café where he asked for a recommendation. While he was in there, I looked up triad seafood. When he came up came back out, he told me that the lady in the café recommended triad seafood as well. We then went on over. There was no wait, luckily, when we arrived. Within a few minutes of our arrival, all of the tables in the back patio filled up. We had waterfront dining and ordered a large order of stone crabs plus a slice of homemade Keylime pie. The freshness was undeniably present. I loved our sides of coleslaw and sweet potato fries. There was no better place to have Keylime pie then so close to the keys. While we placed one order to share between two people, we were very for the end of our meal. Highly recommend coming here. And if I'm ever back in town, we'll be here again.

    What is stone crab season?

Fishing companies can only catch Florida Keys stone crab between October and May each year. I was here in January and the stone crab claws were available.

Andres, our server, was attentive, knowledgeable and kind. Honestly, he was the main reason we decided to stay and have a proper dinner, not because he pushed us, but because he explained everything with such detail and found options for me (allergic to shellfish and everything that swims) and my husband, who is a vegan. We ended up having the veggie platter and the chicken platter- that chicken breast was delicious, so tender and juicy. The black beans and rice with maduritos were heavenly and the homemade tres leches...gosh! Andres told us that his father, Captain Morgan, was the chef and owner, that his mother helped cooked, and that his uncle helped. They all came to the table, and gave us so many tips on what to do in the area. The restaurant was immaculately clean and with a great temperature given the heat. Island Cafe had several cars parked in front so I thought that was a good sign. This is a table service restaurant and I ordered the fried scallop dinner with a loaded baked potato and salad for $25. Then entree arrived about 15 minutes later. The salad had a little cheese on top of the greens with ranch dressing on the side. It was a good salad. The seafood came with several fried scallops and a couple of hush puppies along with a small ear of corn and the baked potato. What was missing was the cheese and bacon for the potato. The waitress disappeared so I wasn't able to get the missing bacon and cheese and had to make do with some butter for the tater. This was disappointing. The scallops were decent in taste but I couldn't get anymore cocktail sauce because of the missing waitress. This meal was substandard and I felt underwhelmed by the entire experience. The food was ok in taste but it didn't stand out to me and the table service was non existent. Perhaps Island Cafe is better than this but giving a 3 score is generous in my opinion.

The restaurant feels like a colorful, garden‑style hideaway, full of charm, warmth, and the delight of discovering a true local gem. The café is tucked away along the back roads of Chokoloskee, surrounded by the kind of old‑Florida scenery that's becoming rare. The food was outstanding. We started with tostones (fried plantains with garlic), then enjoyed the pork sandwich with chips and the pork plate with rice, beans, and two perfectly cooked sweet plantains.
