I have been a Joann shopper since middle school. Sadly, they have gone downhill in recent years. Today I went in for 2 items. There was no one at the register, but was a button that said push for service. I waited 5 minutes (pushing often). Finally when more people were behind me someone came. I made a complaint and got platitudes and doublespeak from store manager. The thing is they seldom have enough help, even when they are to be found. I often wait in a long line. I do paper crafting and needle arts (in addition to sewing) and the sections are pretty bare. I have always liked Joann better than their competition, but lately, the competition has done a better job on both service and selection. read more

Such a disappointment! I feel like I am screaming into a vast empty space when I say this, because I've said it many times before and nothing has changed, but here I go anyway. I was originally near the Joann's in Lakewood Colorado. It was small, cramped, and always a disaster. A few years ago I moved to Parker and I loved this location. It was big. It was clean. It had stuff! Lately, though, it's become dirty, disorganized, and empty. It's a wonder when I buy online to pick up I often am told the item actually wasn't in stock. I most often frequent the yarn section. The yarn section is vast, because some yarn is on end caps, some yarn is in center isles, and some yarn is in boxes where ever, as well as in its regular place. Most of it is empty. I'm not sure if it's because there are mounds of yarn in bins they don't belong in or if it's because the shelves are just empty. Today I came across a shelf that was full of random yarn, but I think it's supposed to be Lion Brand Mandala. There was blanket yarn, Big Twist, Bernat, baby yarn, cotton, Christmas.... It was stuffed to brim with yarn that didn't belong there. I also had to use the bathroom. It's because of bathrooms like this one I hate using public restrooms. It doesn't look like it's been cleaned in a while, it smells that way, too. The white tile is so dingy it's turning black. The floors are cracked. There is more product on the floor than on the shelves. It's a pretty big disaster. Which is why I stopped shopping at the Joann's in Lakewood. I haven't been in that store in ten years or more. I'm not fond of customer care, either. Last time I found a Christmas pick that didn't have a price tag on it. The kid immediately looked at me and told me I couldn't buy it because he didn't have time to find the price for it. I was pretty angry and put out. Recently I ordered a bunch of yarn online. I got it all except for one. All I kept seeing was the the item was still in process. After about a month I was about ready to contact Joann's, but I decided to really dig and eventually found that the order had been cancelled not a peep from Joann's. I can see why Joann's is fading. Don't treat customers well, can't buy online to pick up, can't buy to ship, and the store looks like a mini tornado ripped through it. I thinks it's time to just let go of Joann's. I'll buy from Hobbii, across the pond, before O step foot in Joann's again. I'm sorry to say it, but I'd rather go where I am appreciated and have lots of wonderful yarns to choose from and I'm sure to actually get. read more

This is my go-to store, so close to where I live. It must be going out of business. It's filthy! The floors have not be cleaned in months! I mean months! Merchandise is scant in many of the craft aisles. I'm really saddened to see this store in such bad condition. read more

I like JoAnn as they have a wonderful selection of fabrics and crafting items. Whether you enjoy pre-made home decor or create your own, JoAnn has so many templates that allows one to unleash endless possibilities. I ventured through the baking aisle to grab up what I cannot find elsewhere....countless options for cake decorating. Sprinkles, sugar sheets, even decorating pens. The fabrics choices are wonderful and aside from the traditional McCalls sewing patterns (dresses, tops, special occassion) they also have Cosplay Costume Patterns! Perfect and just enough time to plan for Halloween. Sign up for their customer program to get promotional emails and the occasional coupon. Be aware of their pricing and doorbuster advertisements. What am I doing in a fabric store you might ask?!! Well many times I need something for a project... Don't judge! Ha. The condition of this store demands a review. Slow. Not helpful. But here's the kicker. Have you ever cared about cleanliness? So it's not a restaurant but still. This might be the single dirtiest business I've ever been in. Just look down. The floors and around the shelving units. WITHOUT EXAGGERATION I DONT THINK THEY HAVE EVER CLEANED THE FLOORS PROPERLY. It's not possible. Every single corner looked like a furry little animal had died at sometime in the past around the wheels and corners. It's a fabric store. I get it. But really? I was the first costumer of the day.. I practically live here. I know the lines can be long but they do their best to get you checked out with the staff they have. They are always super friendly and Linda is the sweetest. Their sales are awesome and I've definitely know what coupon to wait for when I need something expensive :-) They have 80% sales on certain items and I have found so many amazing things for sooo cheap. Took two quilting classes from this store, the basic quilting class and the quilting binding class and had excellent instruction both times. Highly recommend taking the quilting classes at this location if you want to learn how to quilt. This store is very clean and bright, but if it's busy, you can expect to wait at the fabric cutting counter and at the registers. The Jo-Ann store off of Alameda/Exposition is closer to me, but this store is so much nicer, it's worth the extra time and travel to go here instead read more

I went into this store today so get some stuff to make a birthday cake for my daughter. The had the stuff to ice the cake but I was hoping to find a Winnie the pooh cake mold there because I've seen them at other places but their selection of cake pans in minimal. I think they had maybe 5 different ones. When I went to check out the lady asked me if I had any coupons and if I was on their mailing list and I said I wasn't and she said that when you sign up you get a booklet once a month with a 40% off coupon so I signed up and she gave me the 40% off on the spot and saved me 6 bucks. This isn't the type of store I frequently shop at but if I need anymore cake decorating supplies this is the place I will go. read more

This store is kind of out of the way for most people (not far from Southlands mall, so definitely my neck of the woods). It's a nice store, has a good selection of stuff. Only problem I have with it is the service there. Sometimes I get somebody that's really awesome, but a lot of the time I get somebody that's barely paying attention to me and doesn't seem to care a lot. Skip the dirty floors, the employees who don't want to cut more than 2 fabric pieces, the coupon bait-and-switch and head on over to Michaels at Southlands. They'll let you have 40-50% off coupon on any full priced item. Telling me I could save 40% off $1.29 item was an absolute slap in the face. Why bother having coupons at all? read more

Went to very fabric, there was a customer getting several types of fabric cut so i take a number and feel free to look around, as the sign says. I hear something and so peek around to see that another clerk is at the cutting desk and instead of calling numbers she helps someone who just walked up, not me who had been waiting 5 minutes or more at this point. I finally get helped after at least another 5 minutes,and I tell the clerk I took a number and nobody called numbers but instead the people who had just walked up were served. She really didn't care very much that I had just been ignored for 10 minutes. I will not shop at the store again. read more

The fabric selection, that's the entire reason for enduring this place. I went at 2:30 in the afternoon and a weekday, knowing that getting fabric cut isn't for the faint of heart. I wonder if they're about to go out of business, a huge section of the store right at the entry point is just empty, with dirty floors. It should have been a warning to all who enter here.... Here's why I'm giving 2 stars - the customer service. The employee's aren't rude, they're just oblivious and seem dead inside. I got my stuff that needed to be cut and dutifully went to wait at the 5th circle of hell known as the cutting table. There was a woman (customer 1) getting 5,000 yards of fleece cut and then a confused man (customer 2) asking questions that the teenager employee couldn't answer. She left to get the person who must be in charge. They returned and the manager/person in charge/person with presumably more experience got sucked into the vortex of sewing machine minutia while the teenager looked at me for a moment then left. Fleece lady looked nowhere near done and I elatedly spotted the "take a number machine". Alas, it was broken. I stood waiting. The manager looking lady returned and engaged in a lengthy and detailed discussion with another customer (customer 3). She then called for another employee to help customer 3. The employee pointed out that the customer wanted to do some crazy coupon mojo that she didn't think was allowed. Manager lady told her quietly, "do it anyway". I started to feel giddy inside thinking "ah, my turn next". Alas, another customer (customer 4) who had previously been nowhere in sight came up and the manager looking person opened the fancy broken number machine, noting it wasn't working, and handed her a number. I lunged forward like a lunatic and said, "this thing wasn't working, I've been waiting over 10 minutes." It seems my invisibility shield was working, so they ignored me and I took the next number. She called on her headseat to another employee saying the machine was broken. He came from the back area, said it wasn't, then left. Two other customers rolled up (customers 5 and 6) and took their numbers. The employee cutting the fleece had clearly noticed my pacing and called for back-up. Two employee's came from out of the back. One started helping customer 4, who had shown up after me, the other employee looked around and then went back behind the silver door gateway to the magical back area of the store where customers are to be avoided. Manager lady had been heavily involved in chit-chat with customer 4 and 2 during this time and then walked away from the area. The teenage daughter of customer 1 (fleece lady) looked at me, smiles, and started dancing. Seriously. Minutes later, manager lady came back and asks me if she can help me. I give her my thing and ask for 5 yards. While she's cutting my stuff, she's engaged in more chit-chat with customer 4, because I'm invisible. The whole thing took over 20 minutes of standing and waiting. Then we get to the front to stand in line to pay. Lucky for me, fleece-lad and her dancing teenager, along with coupon-rule-violating lady are in line in front of me with what must have been complicated check-out transactions requiring calculus. There was only one employee operating the check-out lanes. I guess the two employee's that I knew were in the back had serious inventory duty or something. I haven't had such a frustrating experience in a store in as long as I can remember. read more

This is my most favorite Joann's! They everything here and in such a great assortment of things! I've always had so many associates here helping me out and making sure if I need something they will get it for me. I really love their large collection of frames, and they have a lovely collection of fabrics. (Trust me when you go into a store looking for a *cupcake* fabric with no pink in it you're basically praying for a miracle from the moment you come up with the need... BUT THEY HAD IT! and they had a full 8 yards just like I needed! I love the specials they run before the holidays! $1.99 for Simplicity patterns! YES PLEASE! I also love how you can buy Thanksgiving and Christmas things and they are already 60% off before the holiday! I have also purchased many of my cake pans and brownie pans here before as they have the Wilton brand and I don't feel like I have to go to walmart for the pans I want. I love being checked out here as if even the smallest amount of a line starts to form they always promptly call up more cashiers and I'm through the line in record fast time. I wish as a whole that Joann's was open a little later, because I'm a late night craft person but I still love going to this Joann's and I enjoy all the associates and how clean the store is (I really love how clean the store is) and I love being able to get lost in racks and racks of beautiful fabrics. I hate craft stores. And most crafts. But, I do at-home preschool, and that requires at lot of "crafty" things, so its great to have this place nearby. I am writing a review simply because the customer service is so incredible. They always notice my "I'm lost and I hate this crap" face and lend a helping hand to get me out of the potpourri and acrylic paint haze most efficiently...AND without making me hang my head in shame for being a mom and a mid-30s woman that hates all things involving hot glue. They always hook me up with coupons and deals for the things I end up having to buy, and laugh at my complete unwillingness to dive into their pool of scrapbook paper and embellishment blindly. Minimal staff and a crap shoot on who is helpful or cordial. Coupons can be challenging on checkout on your phone and not all cashiers are helpful in pointing out an available coupon. My lesson is to hold up the line and take my time in ensuring I have all the coupons. Will not be shopping here unless I need something not available elsewhere. read more

Good luck getting help in framing: they may advertise deep discounts but there's no staff to actually sell you the products. Bathrooms perennially dirty. The girl at the frame counter was rude and had a very know-it-all-attitude. Also, the lady at the fabric cutting counter did not understand when I told her what project I was doing, but needed to scale the measurements up, because I was doing the project at a size 4x larger than the measurements provided by an article I found on Pintrest. So, I will need to go somewhere else to get my frame done and have to go somewhere else and purchase the fabric....AGAIN, because I only got a quarter of the amount of fabric that I needed. read more

having several items to sort through, I placed some upholstery fabric on the cutting counter and informed the employee I needed a second to grab some webbing. It appeared she had not been using that counter the entire time I was in the store. When I returned to the counter another person was in front of me and the employee shoved my upholstery fabric to the side and then expresses a big aggravated huff.
