This had to be the strangest interaction I've ever had. I had a book I wanted to purchase that was from the clearance bin. The price was marked on the book with a sticker. The bar code wouldn't scan. She tried to scan a different clearance book and it also wouldn't scan. She takes the book away from and tells me she can't sell it to me. What?! I used to work for a Joann's a few years back and know for a fact this are generic department numbers you can use for these situations. I ask her if she can do that and she says no. read more

JOANN Fabric and Craft Stores Methuen do better. I was so excited to go in shopping to get the material for a project that I wanted to do over vacation but I had to listen to the store manager bash teachers the entire time I was in there (about 20 minutes) I was so disheartened and defeated. I couldn't listen to her anymore so I went up to her and said" That is simply not true...any of it". She just looked at me and shrugged, so I just put my stuff down and left. I will tell you all the truth right here. I am not a craft-er or a sew-er by any means. I can sew a button or sew stitches in my arm, but I am not crafty. I needed an iron -on patch for canvas as squirrels chewed a hole in my campers canvas and I needed to patch it up. Jo-Ann's had it. The woman working there was friendly, direct and knew just what I needed. They have craft materials, glue, tons or fabric, buttons, pins, clips, and decorating be-dazzle this and that. I was here yesterday for curbside pickup. I called the number on the door three times, and the phone rang and rang then disconnected. So I got out of my car and went to the door. An employee suddenly came out and barked at me to get back in my car. I told her I wouldn't have gotten out if they'd answered the phone. She said the phone had issues, then got the person behind me's order first. My order was missing an item. I called the store. They picked up this time and said they were out and the receipt reflects the refund. I didn't get a receipt. She said it was emailed. I never received an email, and my credit card was charged for the missing item. read more

I've been to a lot of Joann fabric stores. In a lot of different states, so feel that I have at least a reasonable basis to judge this one. It is satisfactory. You can generally find what you generally need, but it does not get stellar performance for a range of interesting fabrics at a range of unbeatable prices. Their notions section is spare, and the craft portion of the store is meager. A bright spot, however, would be their very helpful and seemingly dedicated staff. The ladies in the store are always willing to help and seem to be attentive and on task. You will not stand at a register for very long at all before someone appears out of nowhere to help you out. Bottom line - if you're looking for something relatively standard, they'll probably have it. But if you enjoy browsing for that perfect fabric, you might leave empty-handed. read more

Went into the store to buy a Cricut press Mat, I couldn't find the item in the store so I asked a rep for assistance. The rep confirmed that they had the item in stock, but she refused to look in depth for the item. She then told me to give her my contact information so I'm a few days she can give me a call to come pick up the item, the item was on sale for that only. I have recently started to quilt again so have been to this store a half dozen times in the past couple of months. I have gotten some good deals using coupons, all the staff has been friendly and helpful, and I have even returned a few items, with my slip, with no problems. I can only assume that there is new management here , based on the previous reviews I read. With the shortage of fabric stores these days I am thankful to have this store nearby. read more

This place has everything you need for next project. I love the patterns on fabrics very cute. I come here to get fabric from glitter to gold or any funky designs I use it as background for my pictures items I sell on eBay or PoshMark I like the pictures to be perfect! The place is clean the only downfall is that I have to ring a cow bell, yes cow bell for when I need assistance to checkout. I felt weird ringing it but I was waiting a bit and no one came over until I rang the bell. read more

I ordered online and indicated curbside pickup. Well, they do NOT have curbside pickup. No one picked up after numerous phone calls so I had to go inside, wait on the same line as people purchasing (Should have a dedicated line just for pick up but they don't!) and when I asked if I had gotten buttons I ordered, she said, "Yes" but they weren't there in the bag. When I told her that there were no buttons, she again looked at the sheet and so "No, they are not in stock" and I have to wait for the email to check a receipt to see if I was charged for them. I AM NOT HAPPY. The store does not have enough staffing to do curbside pickup since I only saw one store employee. I wish Hobby Lobby would open a store in this area. At least they would have some competition. read more

If you need any help at all, avoid this place. The staff are unpleasant, unhelpful and slow. Selection is not bad but when I visit I have to psych myself up for an errand I dread. Also, be prepared to wait a long time to check out, even if there is just one person ahead of you. Cleanliness is also an issue. Very UNPLEASANT shopping experience! I enjoyed crafting and knitting in particular. I have been so many Jo-Ann fabrics store in other town and other state. The store MANAGER will not accept the coupon I down-loaded and printed out from the web site nor they provide printed store flyer with coupon. Go some where else for craft supplies. read more

Wow, I can't believe this store stays open with such rude employees. I needed an item that was supposed to be in stock, according to their website. After getting a lecture about moving one of their stepladders, I told the associate what I needed and that a quantity of 11 were supposed to be in stock. She pointed to an empty shelf area and told me obviously it's not. Couldn't be bothered to look in the stock room. No apology, no offer to locate at another store, no offer to re-order it and have it held for me. This girl needs a lesson in customer courtesy. I go to Joann Fabrics a lot to purchase fleece material. I have had the most pleasant encounters with a gal named Karen at the cutting area. The material was a Patriots plaid and she made sure that the piece she was cutting was even from end to end; making sure that the plaids matched. she has cut for me a couple of times. I really appreciate that as I tie the piece to a solid color and sometimes I have to cut the team fabric. To me if I have to cut the plaid it is a waste of money. I usually end up having several team bolts cut at one time. Karen takes her time and she is very pleasant to talk to. Thank you Karen for all your hard work and I will be seeing you again real soon. I have shopped at this store many times at varying hours and on varying days. My experience has always been the same. The store is perpetually disorganized and understaffed. Don't go if you're short on time. The line to have fabric cut is very long and slow. The line to check out is even worse. Whenever I can get my materials elsewhere, I do. When I absolutely must shop at Joann's, I prepare to be frustrated and annoyed. read more

Return policy is not clearly stated either on the back of the receipt or up by the register. Would have been nice when I was looking for a sign about cut fabric to know that even if I purchased a whole bolt I could not return it. read more

Undercover Boss needs to do a segment on their business and particularly this store. Lesson learned don't buy anything from Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft unless you are certain it is what you need.They will find any excuse under the sun to not except a return. The store was understaffed and I waited a long time in line to make my return. I had a receipt that clearly stated what the item was and that it was purchased from Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft. The Store Manager said the wrong codes were on the item. So it was technically returning something without a receipt and they could only offer me 50% of the purchase price. That just did not seem right so I called their Corporate Office and spoke to Customer Service. I had to listen to a lecture saying that the stores had to assume that customers making returns were cheating them so Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts had to operate defensibly . He also said that I had to return merchandise to the same store it was purchased from because not all the stores carry the same merchandise. I explained that I had made the purchase from a store 30 miles away and it was not practical to go to the same store. He suggested that I call the location where the purchase was made and ask their permission to return the item to another location. This feels like a very poor way to do business. read more

Absolutely awful experience here recently. Insanely rude cashier named Audriana, gave me such a hard time and was sooooo disrespectful. When I had enough of her rudeness, I politely asked another person if I could please speak with a manager, and both in store managers declined to come up front. A sweet girl from the fabric cutting department came out and listened to my complaint (regarding the very offensive cashier), she even took my name and number in case the managers wanted to talk with me. That was about two weeks ago and they didn't bother to call. Absolutely insulting cashier and dreadful customer service, not to mention their price for fabric is higher than online. A typical Jo-Ann's store. I found an unusual size of knitting needles that I was looking for (that Michael's didn't have). However, the whole store seemed a little disorganized, but I guess that's expected a few days after Christmas. Went in to buy fabric which I had looked up online and loved! I was having some difficulty finding it in the store so I asked one of the ladies working of she could lead me in the right direction....she pretty much just pointed out a vast, general area in which I had already looked and said it was there somewhere! (Soooo helpful) I even over heard another customer asking for help with crotchet items and the lady working said "you'll get a better answer on Google!" Is this really what customer service has come to? Google searches? not impressed at all read more
