This is a three star diner with five star service. We were stuck in Evanston waiting for I-80 to open and needed some breakfast. Super cute place with excellent food and service. Such a wonderful stop along a long road trip. They handled Covid guidelines and cdc recommendations exceptionally well and the bathroom smelled like straight bleach. They have been cleaning cleaning cleaning!!! Found Evanston Wy local's favorite, Jody's! This diner is classic small town Americana diner. Delicious piping hot comfort food. Great characters who serve, refill all with smiles. You may even overhear some local town gossip. Well, it's like all the other 18 regular diners continue to give this place a 5 star rating, because NO. They all turned around and stared at us, long and hard, as we walked in. We selected a formica table, one of a kind- they all are. Nice waitress. Huge menu. Meh food. Worst biscuits and gravy ever. Low price, low quality, large portions. But, you can buy a lottery ticket. We found this place a couple of years ago while riding our motorcycles from CA to Wyoming and HAD to come back! First, let me tell you the staff is incredible! Greeted with a friendly "hello" & a perfect cup of fresh brewed/fresh ground coffee & a carafe of water. Our server Kathy made us feel welcome while assuring all the guests felt like family. My cup never got cold or empty! Absolutely fabulous breakfast! Eggs cooked perfectly with crispy, thick sliced bacon and hash browns that were browned to a crispy golden! I usually share my bacon with my husband but not today! It's ALL mine! This place definitely a gem... take the business loop off I-80.... you will not be disappointed! read more

If you ever pass through Evanston, Wyoming like I did today... go to Jody's Diner! It is such a gem! The food was wonderful - great home cooking, and the service was amazing. Shout out to Diane! My table's order includes the Hot Hamburger Soup (Yumm and so creative), grilled cheese (yummy bread), and beer battered fries (Wow!) They even have a special sauce for the fries that was delicious. We were in the area on our latest journey when we happened along this "old fashioned diner" ... oh my what a find! A comfortable clean welcoming roadside site. We were greeted by our server Diane & told to choose from the menu or daily selection board. When asked if "substitutions" could be made (like onion rings instead of fries etc.) we were told any preferences would gladly be met as part of the order ... WOW ... been a long time since we've heard that! The quality of ingredients & flavors in each selection, as pictured, were perfection. The servings were VERY generous & the cost VERY reasonable. I've never had an omelet that could compare to this one ... When we pass thru Evanston again we most definitely will stop in & try other menu items! Jody's Diner not only serves some pretty awesome food, but the people who run the place, and the whole vibe is just very homey. The wait staff, especially our waitress, was very sweet. She was calling everyone "Darlin" and "Dear". it was extremely cute. On each table they are comedy books Ben Goode, which are extremely funny, and it was the perfect way to pass the short time it took for food to arrive. I ordered the Philly Omelet, It came with hash browns, and your choice of bread. The omelet was freaking huge, and stuffed to the max with steak, cheese, peppers, onions, and mushrooms. It was delicious and massive. I chose a scone as my bread option. It looked more like a fritter, and the upside down cup full of butter was a nice touch. A little too much butter for me, but damn it was delicious. The restaurant is in Evanston, so pretty much right at the Utah/Wyoming border. Come here when you're looking for great food, and a great atmosphere. read more

If you're from out of town, DONT bother coming here. We came in at 11 am on a Monday morning. They looked at us in the face when we walked in, and didn't say a word. Regular customers came in the door behind us and they instantly started helping them. The regulars PUSHED us out of the way and we STILL didn't get addressed. We had to speak up and ask what the wait was. We were told 20 minutes so we walked out. RUDE, and not worth your time. Drive up the road twenty minutes and check out Sandi's instead. read more

We were headed up to Evanston for the horse races, it was early and breakfast sounded good. A quick search on Yelp revealed there weren't a lot of options for breakfast in Evanston, Jody's seemed to be the only real option, it had several reviews most very good. Jody's appears to be a converted gas station. Seating is one large room with about 20 tables of different shapes and sizes. When we first got there we followed in a family who got inside the door and waited, so we followed there lead and waited. None of the workers engaged us or the other family, after several minutes we finally asked about seating and were told we were free to seat ourselves. The only option available was a two person table that was next to two other like tables, the far one occupied by a couple of guys and the middle one holding all the condiments. We made ourselves at home and sat down, kinda sitting with the two guys we did not know, a little odd but it worked out OK. The breakfast menu had the normal options breakfast meats including chicken fried steak, eggs, omelets, pancakes, waffles, etc. What I really liked was the fact that they offered a lot of options for "toast" including biscuits and gravy, scone, pancake, etc. all at no additional cost. I got the chicken fried steak with eggs, hash browns and for "toast" I opted for biscuits and gravy. The wife got a similar meal without any meat and she opted for the scone. The eggs were cooked as ordered, hash browns were good, shredded and cooked appropriately, the Chicken Fried was tasty, a good portion and not greasy or chewy like some. The biscuits were good, obviously homemade, the gravy creamy and flavorful. The scone was what you would expect except no honey butter, but they did have honey on the table. Overall the breakfast is good, service is good but it is a busy place with minimal staff so that impacts the service, the decor is highly lacking, the seating is confusing and cramped. For a good breakfast at a reasonable price without any frills Jody's will take care of you. read more

Passing through town and stayed one night. We wanted something more than a continental breakfast at our hotel. Saw this place and we decided to try it. 15-20 minute wait due to COVID but it smelled too good to leave. Accommodated the 6ft social distancing, wiped off the table and waited for it to dry before seating. They wiped everything down thoroughly. The food was really good. Simple, fresh and tasty. The scone was unreal and the sausages were large and flavorful. Cute little place and a must try. Prices were great! Would have taken pictures but we ate it all before we could. read more

This Diner is still a GREAT Homecookin place & theee place to eat in Evanston in my opinion. I was out here almost 3 yrs ago & nothing has changed for the worse, still great fresh food & service. The Chicken Fried Steak is "cut with a fork", & good portions will hold you for the day. This place is very busy in the a.m on weekends., so early rising is recommended or wait till about 11a.m. Great food made right here in the U.S.A! To add convenience to eating at Jody's, Motel 6 is right across the street & is the cheapest place to stay in Evanston & is always clean rooms, haven't had any problems both times I stayed there for work while in Evanston. read more

When we were DENIED service @ the Best Western Dunmar ( that place has gone way down hill)...so we came for breakfast and lunch at Jody's. This place is always crowded when we come home for a visit but let me tell you, you get great service they make you feel at home and the food is damn good! This is an authentic diner. Everyone seems to know each other, the service is fantastic and the food is excellent. I ordered the chicken fried steak. It was well-battered and the gravy atop was so good. Also I'd highly recommend the beer-battered fries. You're clogging your arteries already so you might as well do it right. Also ordered a kids meal for my son. Macaroni bites. He loved them. I was impressed that his portion size was nearly the same as mine, and for only $3! Another find by Siri. I am so spoiled after this breakfast. I hate to think that I would have to drive all the way from Eden Utah to have a breakfast it's good but it's looking like that. It's located right off of I 80. I ordered Jodis breakfast. It came with eggs, a huge pile of great hashbrowns , three large ,Banger- like sausages called "Pappy's Links" and your choice of toast something else or an amazingly huge pancake that filled an-entire plate. I added a side of hashbrowns which was large also and ....excellent! The table is filled with condiments from different hot sauces to real honey and maple syrup. When food is this good you want a lot of it and they don't disappoint you. Service was fast. And pleasant. This is a real no-brainer fine. It's deserves is five star reputation. This is a sleeper you would drive right past, but don't, you will miss a treat. Bless you peeps who live here! Hardly any buildings with addresses! But what a find!! Torie was our server and Jodi cooks in the kitchem, so there really is a Jodi. When there's trucks lined up and parked out front you just know the food is good. Everything on the menu looks good but huevos ranchero and a side of hash and the sausage egg biscuit with sausage gravy were the rib sticking breakfasts today. Great food and prices. Awesome staff.
