Stopped in with my wife and teenage daughter on a road trip. Restaurants, even fast food ones, were few and far between as we travelled from Yellowstone NP to Provo, Ut. Jody's was an oasis of tasty food! Between the three of us, we had a pastrami sandwich, steak salad, and a grilled cheese. The star of the show was definitely the onion rings. It was quite busy, and there was a little bit of a wait, but the staff worked their butts off to make things go smoothly as possible. Just passing through. Waitress took my order and 35 minutes passed, no one checked on me until I asked someone for help. After ten more minutes, she brought the (incomplete) order and said nothing. This corner of Evanston doesn't have too much besides the RV park and Jody's. We had to wait for a table for breakfast but the service and delivery of food was prompt. I had a short stack of pancakes and DH had the full breakfast with biscuits and gravy. We each had enough for another day. Welcome to Jody's Diner the appeal from the outside sure hides a secret on the inside. We seat our selves and our server quickly appears Dusty has the privilege of serving me today. There is an eclectic mix of old fashioned diner tables neatly organized about the room there is the local children's artwork on the wall, it's very welcoming with a very homey feel to it. She orders the Jody's breakfast with 2 eggs over medium, hash browns and patty sausage and sour dough toast with coffee and milk. I have the Huevos Rancheros eggs scrambled medium and sausage patties on the side. The table top has a great selection of Hot Sauce with most of the Cholula line well represented there is an assortment of jelly and jam, coffee creamers and various sweetness as well. It's 8:30 am and the place is filling with the locals the atmosphere is very pleasant almost jubilant I see the couple from our last nights visit to another eatery who waited a long time to be seated for a disappointing meal. They appear pleased with their decision to come here this morning just like myself. Our breakfast menu s complete the portions are good and the sausage patties are much larger than I expected very pleased I did request some more of the salsa used in my dish and was really impressed to find the use of the green chili pepper instead of the traditional jalapeño. I am in my happy spot I am full but will not leave the last two bites on my plate it's not often a meal is so well prepared. It was a nice surprise to find the owner Ms Jody presented and actually preparing my meal, it's nice to see the owners taking a part in the day to day operations of their business. Dusty has been a great server and a real joy to talk with. In closing, thus has been an awesome experience and while I am now disappointed that I walked past it last night I am very pleased to not make the same mistake twice. The owners and management of the Tumbling Tumbleweed should certainly spend some time over here and learn how a well managed business is operated. I've had a great experience here. Decent food in this local diner. Food and service was great. Not many choices in Evanston but this hit the spot for lunch.

This place was recommended to us by the hotel desk clerk. She said that the only downside was "it was clear on the other side of town". If you know Evanston you know that's not a big deal. We tried it! Most bigger, fancier restaurants could take lessons from this modest family dining spot. Not fancy, but cool. Fun mural on a big wall. Servers were pleasant and helpful. Food was very good and moderately priced. In fact, at the price it's a great value! And, this place is clean!! Don't have anything negative to report. The sweetest bunch of people there. Ten minutes before closing and we were on an RV trip and have been driving a long time. asked if we were too late and they welcomed us in. We were a group of Seven and they took order and had appetizers. They were great mozzarella sticks and Mac n cheeses balls. We were there about 45 minutes. A 5 because there is no other place as good as this in Evanston, Wyoming. The place is super busy, but there's a reason! It's damn good! It's diner food that is made to order and they do a great job for as many people they get. Holy cow! We had a great breakfast - Eggs cooked to order were just as we asked for, and the pork chops, sausage, and everything else was just right. One thing I noticed is that the temperature of the food was perfect! I was half expecting it to come to us cold because it was SO BUSY, but voila! They were on top of it! Returned to Jody's after a long siege of COVID and were not disappointed at all. I had the Fried Shrimp dinner and got enough for two meals. 10 good sized shrimp, a fresh salad, and plenty of fries. Saw the desserts on special and was wishing I had saved room for dessert. We were pleased with the prices considering the price increases of other establishments. Even though we arrived at the height of the Sunday lunch rush, we had only a short wait for a table. This is clearly a locals' favorite. Friendly and attentive service. I ordered the "Greek" spinach salad with grilled chicken added - great salad! Although it initially looked quite small, it was just chock full of fresh blueberries, craisins, mandarin oranges and walnuts and topped with a nice-sized chicken breast. Legit breakfast spot along the I-80 corridor and worth stopping for. They have lunch and dinner items, too, but when you find a great breakfast, why stray? Biscuits for the B&G are homemade and weigh about 15 pounds a piece. You'll need a food coma nap shortly after eating them. The sausage gravy is an "A" as well, I only needed to add a little pepper to make it freaking awesome. I had the Jody's Breakfast which is the staple of eggs, taters, meat, and toast. But they were all done perfectly. Eggs were exactly as ordered, potatoes (hashbrowns) were great and cooked amazingly and when I opted for the sausage patties, sheer nirvana ensued. Hit this place on the way home to Utah from Afton,Wy. Such great food. The diner is in like an old gas station or something, but has great service with nice wait staff and a nice local down home feel. I heard all of the workers calling patrons by their first names and they were very attentive to all our needs. I had the roast beef melt, it would have been a tad better with an aujus to dip it in, but still was very tasty. My hubs got chicken fried chicken, and he said you could tell it was homemade and fresh. The kids both had grilled ham and cheese sandwiches with cottage cheese. I've stopped here many times in the past and Jody's is very consistent and top notch in both service and quality. The only complaints I ever have here is when I'm passing through and they're closed. So traveling thru to get to Winter Park, Co we stayed overnight in a hotel and wanted dinner. Not many choices here but picked this place. Well because it has the same name as me which is not a real common name ( hahaha) but also due to the reviews. Not even sure where to start. No mask's here on anyone, a typical diner look. We ordered Mac and cheese bites for appetizer. I asked if they were homemade or frozen and of course she said frozen. Should have stopped there and go somewhere else. I ordered the hamburger steak and it was not good. No flavor except coming from the burnt edges. Salad was ok. Fries were the best part of the meal. Husband had chicken fried steak and he said it was just ok. He thinks also a frozen entree. I do not know why so many good reviews. Should have went where my hubby wanted to go instead.
