This is my third and most likely my last attempt 1st time I really just wanted fries but decided I would try the hot dog as well I was informed of their 2 dog special but was also told I could get just one ( didn't know she was charging the same either way ) so I took that then after leaving I realized I had been over charged 2nd time the food was rushed to be cooked ( my fault didn't realize they were closing soon ) now on to tonight 2 ribeye sandwiches one plain one with mayo lettuce and tomato I felt it was a little overpriced but what isn't these days I get it home 2 blocks away and open almost immediately what a hot mess I should've realized when I saw the girl wrestling the meat what looked like to stay on the flat top I was not gonna be happy I'm sure there are good things about this place unfortunately I will not be trying anything else read more

Recently learned about this hidden gem. Tucked into a small strip mall, this wonderful place has ample seating in a classic 50's theme diner. Parking wasn't an issue at dinner time but might be at lunch. Got a tip to try their Italian beef, so a hot dipped it was. Great chew and beefy flavor. Perfect heat on the giardiniera. Really good fresh cut fries and great cheese for dipping for just a buck. The meal deal was less than $15 and you can get double meat for a buck and a half more. No way I could finish that. Regular size left me stuffed. Great staff and the place was very well kept. You will find classic RC at the soda machine. Looking forward to exploring their menu. Next step, smashburger. I did stop by on a Thursday for the gyro meal deal. I like the smaller chunks vs long strips. Really good tzatziki sauce too. Stopped in, great ambiance, 50/60's style decore with checkered floor, Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe pictures , music instruments old arcade games as well as a friendly staff. It was my 1st time here so I asked for a recommendation, I was told the Italian beef was popular so I went with that. The beef was soft and delicious! Fresh cut fries were absolutely delicious. So, while at work, I was looking for a place to get hotdogs for lunch. There was a place across the street from where I was, but they were outrageous on their prices. I googled hotdogs in joliet, and Jody's popped up. I figured that I would give it a shot. The prices were definitely a lot better. The hot dogs were awesome, but I was not impressed with the fries. They looked over cooked and tasted a little off like the fryer grease was way past, needing to be changed. The decor was cool but seemed a little clutered. If it wasn't for their fries tasting exactly like my late mother's, I'd never touch this place again. Their phone system sucks, and every gyro plate with fries on the side, no tomatoes or onions somehow ends up with no gyro sauce. Every single freaking time. This place is more disappointing than finding out Santa Claus isn't real. Remember that feeling as a kid? That's every time I order from this place. Unless I go there in person and double check every single item in every single bag. Calling the order in makes it more screwed up, and sending someone else makes me just throw the Food to the dogs. No seriously. I've probably thrown about $100 worth of food on the floor from this restaurant for my dogs to eat because they don't do stuff right when I order delivery. And the kicker is they decided to become a chain so they can spread their disappointment all around the Joliet & Morris area! If fries aren't your thing, go to Mr Sub instead for gyros, or Hey Hot Dog for Hot Dogs. heck, anywhere else for that matter. Because this place hasn't improved, their delivery sucks because you have to rely on using their phone system, and door dash charges a premium to deal with them. read more

Ordered a BLT and it was made poorly. I wouldn't have given it to my dog. I was very disappointed. I initially ate the half with the bow dollar size crumble of bacon thinking ok I won't complain. But as you see by the picture I opened the other half and was even more disappointed. I returned the other half and got my money back. One of the managers present assisted in the refund but did not have time to remake my sandwich and asked that I come back Thursday. Delicious! I ordered a Greek salad with Feta and gyro meat. Literally the best salad I've had in a really long time everything was fresh, crisp and flavorful. Jody's was an unexpected pleasure. I recently moved nearby, and the first day in my new apartment I figured hey, why not give it a try? Prices were decent, and it seemed to have good reviews. I started with the gyro plate which is MASSIVE. Seriously, it must be at least 1/2 pound of meat! Next time I am going to ask them to put it on a salad versus a pita as another reviewer did. I generally low carb, and that's more or less a perfect meal. The homemade soup I tried was good, but too salty for my tastes. Of course, I am also salt-averse somewhat. The fries are hand-cut and very good. My friend ate all mine, and they had no complaints. I tried a chicago dog (sans bun) and it was delish, as well as authentic. This place is not Portillos; it's quite good, and everything is visibly hand made. Give it a shot once. I think most of the enjoyment of Portillos is more nostalgia. The food is great there too, don't get me wrong, but it's not zomgamazing, really. Delivery to my apartment nearby was also super fast. They told me 20 minutes for an order one time, and they were there in six with all the food super hot. Every time I've had delivery it's been spectacular. I put in my order for a hot dog, small fries, and small coke at 7 pm. The location is 13 minutes away from my location, and they said they would be here within 30 minutes, it is past 8, so I figured I would call. I call at 7:57, and they tell me "he is leaving now", well, it's been an hour, and he isn't even on his way yet? This is my first experience with them and I'm not liking it so far. Better hope the hot dog tastes FREAKING AMAZING. Update: received my food at 8:17; the hot dog is pretty good, however the fries are hard and cold, and the ice in my coke has melted so it tastes like water with a gross taste. My family has been going here for decades. It was Sam's Hotdogs, then Porky's (with two locations at that time), then because Judy's, then the owner of the pizza place bought it, named it Jody's, and now it's on the current owners who've had it since like 2011. The new owners are great, the menu has much more variety. As others have mentioned, the fries are hit or miss, ask for them for well done fries, it strangely get's the sogginess to go away. The dogs good, gyro's are my favorite anywhere in the city. I like my beefs dipped, and theirs fit the bill perfectly. But my ABSOLUTE favorite! My mother is handicapped and we live very close by, They normally deliver only for lunch, but for her, they will deliver dinner if I have to work over and can't make it home in time for dinner. THAT is above and beyond service, So even when the fries are a little off, I overlook it, because they treat me like family! In fact, I just purchased 50 of their groupon's to give out to friends and family to support this place! read more

My biggest complaint is that it seems to me that this place is trying to showcase a 1950's atmosphere, but it doesn't quite pull it off while they play music from today's artists. Play more era appropriate music.....Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, Frankie Avalon, any number of Doo Wop tunes. Also, a vintage Juke box would be a great addition to this place. I stopped in there last night around 8:45pm to pick up 2 hot dogs and a cup of cream of broccoli soup. When I got home to eat my dinner, I found that the "Cream of Broccoli Soup" was more like canned cheese with broccoli pieces in it, like they were trying to make it go the distance and needed to add the cheese rather than make another batch of broth. Then I opened the first hot dog and found that the "bottom" of the bun was hard...had to pull it off so I could eat the rest of it. When I opened the the 2nd hot dog, the same thing was wrong. My dogs were able to eat the hard pieces of bun as a treat!! It may have been because it was so late so I will try it one more time during the daylight hours to see if it's any better. Otherwise I don't recommend stopping in later in the evening! read more

If she didn't understand you she is going to say "what" with an attitude. She sincerely sounds miserable.
