I asked for extra sauce which I feel made it perfect. The bread was toasted perfect. The onions and meat on the sandwich were also cooked perfect with good flavor. I also had a Ruben sandwich. The meat was so tender and perfect. I again asked for extra sauce which again made it so delicious. The bread was toasted perfectly. The cookie was pretty good, not my favorite cookie but def not a bad cookie. The cookie was soft and the chocolate chucks were very thick and good. The employees were so nice and welcoming. May be meaty but has a few healthier choices. The prices are okay but have gotten higher. Better places to get this kind of stuff but for around here it seems pretty good. It's got a pretty big menu. The majority of it is meaty items but not everything though. A lot of hot dogs. There's Chicago style, chili cheese, and Polish sausage. Also there's burgers. Even get a triple cheeseburger if you're an eating machine. There's of course the famous Italian beef sandwiches. Also grilled sandwiches like poor boys. They have salads, mostly topped with meats of course. A lot of other things to get besides. It's about $10 for the Vegetarian Wrap. Healthiest thing to get on the menu. I like this place alot. The best way to describe this place if you're from the south side of Chicago is that this place feels like the former Dukes Drive - In at Bridgeview. This place is huge! Every time I order through the drive thru- the person taking my order is always in such a rush that they confuse and mess up my order. For instance, I ordered a Super Burger with EXTRA mustard and EXTRA pickles. When I received my order and drove home, I found that the burger was made with ONLY mustard and ONLY pickles. Through the intercom, a lady kept cutting me off while I was speaking. I couldn't get my full order out without her saying "is that all" "would you like anything else with that" "that comes with ..." I understand that the worker wants me to acknowledge the full extent of the menu and perpetrations of the food; however, it was very rude how she did not let me finish talking. The drive thru workers need to learn to listen then speak. If I wanted fast food, I would have gone to a franchise. As of lately, the hospitality of Babe's has been on a decline. The quality of the food has remained. As summer came to an end, and with all the student workers returned to classes, the older workers have been picking up more shifts. Those workers who have been picking up more shifts are agile and gloomy. They may smile and "put up an act" but their actions bleed through that façade. You wouldn't think much of this place driving up to it. Visually it looks like an old repurposed fast food joint. Don't let looks fool you. This local place has food that is out of this world. I got the jumbo chili cheese dog with fries. Tye wife had a kids Cheeseburger meal and my daughter had the nugget meal. The fries are hometown fries and we dipped them in cheddar cheese, which does not taste like the thick cheese you may get at a ball park. This was thinner and pretty darn tasty. The hotdog was ok at best, but the only thing jumbo was the diameter. When I think of a jumbo dog, I think longer. The fries had no seasoning, very little if any salt, thus barely any taste. There were a lot of older people, so maybe the taste catered to them. I also think they get a lot of residual business because some have been coming here for a while.
