Been coming to Jody well before she opened this storefront, and she is AWESOME and perfect at what she does. Kind, honest, and always gives me confidence by cleaning up my little brows and making them look perfect and full (which is crazy, because i do NOT have nice brows). The 4 stars is for my last visit. Did a full face and eyebrows are included- i have not ONE clue what happened, since clearly our eyes are closed and we can't monitor what's going on until everything is done and we open and they tell us to check, but my brows got EFFED up. She threaded off MY REAL HAIR from the front AND THE TAIL END. She got scissors and starting cutting off a LOT and my brows look like a toddler got scissors and just cut me up. Yeah, i'm pretty upset due to HOW BAD this eyebrow threading turned out and nothing can be changed, but be warned, the newest lady (who is VERY nice and kind always) may not know what to do with your microbladed brows. Im SHOCKED at how terrible my brows came out and I have an incredibly important event this weekend. I see why many say do not do any cosmetic procedures when you have something important coming up. I'm hoping my hair grows back fast because i look RIDICULOUS. I will ONLY be going to Jody. I am truly SHOCKED and upset at how much of my real hair was chopped off and threaded off. This is crazy. I don't normally write reviews, but felt I needed to share my experience here. I literally came here because I needed to get my eyebrows done last minute for my Graduation and did not enjoy the experience. There were so many great reviews I figured why not? I requested Jody because the sign in sheet showed she was often requested, I waited a few minutes for her to finish with her client. When she saw me in the waiting chair she asked, "are you waiting for something?" ????? Why else would I be the chair? She then called me over to sit and she wasn't even kind. She tapped on my forehead for me to place my fingers then would swat my fingers out the way. Very very rude. She finished my eyebrows in like 3 minutes and completely change the shape of my eyebrows! All she needed to do was clean up my brows. They were previously arched now they are rounded! All before graduation day! Would literally never come back or recommend to anyone. After the service, she told me I was done and didn't even say have a good day or anything. I just found it strange that she was very kind and talkative to the client before , who seemed like a regular, and the gentleman after me. read more

Loyal customer been coming for about 7 years now. They started getting busy and after Covid I feel like their customer service went down. They never greet us when we walk in. They don't really care and always rush the process making my eyebrows uneven and thin. The third lady was counting money as I was sitting down and didn't sanitize, went straight to my brows! I recently started coming here because I commute a lot from Oxnard and I needed a place to go when I am in the area. I read the reviews on Yelp and decided to try this place out. I told both of them how I wanted it and they listen which made me happy. I did see some reviews that were not so great, I'm guessing if you want your eyebrows thick you have to make sure you are very specific on what you want, but for me I like mind medium more on the thinner side. The only reason why I didn't give 5star is that they do multi-task when they do my eyebrows (like talk on the phone or other around them) and I get ever anxious about that. I had to tell one of them to please get off the phone because I mean business with my eyebrows. But other than that they are great. read more

less than two mins on a serviced ON MY FACE ,, no greeting as you walk in ... didnt even asked me what I want,, which was thick and just cleaned up .. thinned out one of my eyebrows smh and didnt even brush my eyebrows when i spoke up she said they dont do that its aginst the rules for like 15 years ( shes a LIAR) the rules or however she worded it and i said really your trimming my brows and brushing them with your fingers and my face was dry so so it wasnt a great experience ,, this lady Mutka was not friendly,, she was rather rude smh NOT COOL... now im upset because this will take some time to grow back read more

tldr; quick, cheap, brows on fleek! This is my go to place for threading my brows and upper lip. However, due to COVID-19 concerns, I've opted for only doing my brows. Currently they are operating with only one salon chair outside are accepting cash only, so be prepared before you go. They are observing county health guidelines and wiping down the seat after each customer. I personally only trust Jody or Mukta with my brows; they are usually there on weeknights and weekends. They are super quick and leave your brows looking fleeky. I've had maybe one or two other people do my brows outside of Jody and Mukta, but I've honestly been the most satisfied with Jody and Mukta (one of the other ladies left a small hole in my brow ). A brow+lip thread is only ~$10 or $6 for brows alone, which I think is a steal compared to most other places. I only docked a star just because a few times service wasn't A1-once it took about 10 minutes for them to come out from the back when there were two of us waiting (in the middle of business hours), and also sometimes they talk on the phone while threading, which doesn't bother me too much since they still get the job well done. Overall, this is a great shop to become your regular brow place. They get the job done for a decent price and get you in and out pretty quickly. read more

As far as price goes this was the cheapest henna i have found and by far the best quality! While waiting, we watched Jody perform threading and even though we didn't get it done she is amazing! If you're looking to keep your thick eyebrows, don't go here. If you like your eyebrows thin, this is the place for you. I've given this place two tries and both times I've come out angry and beyond disappointed. I asked them to not shape my eyebrows, keep them thick, and do slight clean up only. I've shown them where I want it cleaned. Yet both times I've walked out with thin eyebrows .. maybe they don't understand the definition of thick? Regardless, this isn't the place for me. read more

Jody did my eyebrows really well the first time I came here. I highly recommend her! The second time I came here, the other lady (the last station closest to the wall) was here and, although she did a good job on my left brow, she botched my right one. It's so sad how noticeable the bottom brow hairs are not even in line and it just looks really jagged. Shame because I never had a botched brow job before. I wouldn't recommend her for a brow job, but she does an amazing job for the upper lip- not as painful, fast, and gets every speck of hair off! read more

I've been coming to Jody for the past decade and to this day, no one shapes my brows better than her. My brows themselves are a bit uneven (no one has perfectly matching brows if you ever plucked them yourself) but Jody does a great job at cleaning mine up so they're easier for me to follow the shape. Even as the years go on, she's still quick, efficient, and immaculate in her work. And her prices are so dang cheap!! Tip: my skin is very sensitive so after getting my brows threaded, I go home and usually douse them with cold water and apply aloe vera gel to help with the rash/itchiness. This helps calm the irritated area and I make sure I don't have plans the next day to give it an extra day of breathing room. read more

I waited and sat down for over 20 minutes and still didn't say nothing . I proceeded to grab my stuff and was about to leave and she tells me come on sit down , she did my eyebrows in less then 2 minutes, she rushed on my eyebrows and now both of my eyebrows were thinned out after telling her I wanted them clean and thick . I feel sad writing this because I have been here many times and I have never experienced this before, the lady who did my brows completely messed them up. I expressed to her that I only wanted a clean up and to not leave them thin. She went super skinny and bit a whole into my right brow, plus left it super skinny. She was on her cell phone. She left the other eyebrow shorter, I told her I was unhappy she said that was just my face shape. I did not want to argue, I never got an apology plus she cut my upper lip. She was in such a hurry to get me out of there. I'm sure the conversation she was having on the phone was more important than my concern. Found Jody's via Yelp after very much needing a nice cleanup for my brows! It's been a while since I've done any maintenance and my usual place is in Irvine. However since I was near Little India, I figured I'd just get them done there considering there were lots of threading salons to choose from. Jody's, a shining star in this area, did not disappoint. For a mere $4.99, my eyebrows were threaded nicely and in a jiffy! The lady who helped me was quick, like hella fast. Maybe too fast HAHA. Got me in and out of the store within 5 minutes. But that's not to say that her work was poor as she got all the stray hairs without compromising my usual shape. Definitely the fastest eyebrow threading session ever but it was very effective. Overall it was satisfactory though the one thing I'd wish is that they provide hand sanitizer prior to you placing your hands on your face. But if anything it's a quick fix - simply wash or hand sanitize your hands prior to visiting and you should be good to go. Please be careful when getting waxed here. I've been here twice to get a Brazilian. The first time the lady was way to harsh. I understand it's painful, but I've been waxed for years now and she for sure did not care. The second time I went today since I needed it done & this was the closet place to me with good reviews, so I decide to just give them a second chance and tell them if they could be gentle. Well I was wrong. From the minute I walked in, you can tell they were not having it. I signed in & took a seat. Few moments later a young lady came in asking for a facial. The women said she could it, but that her facial's were performed outside not in a private room. She asked if there was any way they can do it on a private room since she has to remove hijab. She straight up said no. That should tell you something. They then call me into the room to get waxed. She went straight to work, which I appreciated. I've been getting Brazilians with wax for YEARS & NEVER have I been burned or have my skin ripped off like this place. As soon as she was done she told me that it was super important to wear coconut oil for the next couple of days. Never have I been told to do that after getting waxed.
