Have dined at Sabor 3-4 times and always impressed and I leave full and satisfied. I like everything I've tried and the licuados (water or milk) fruit drinks are so delicious and refreshing. I'm not a big pupasa fan but they are good. I personally would skip them to be able to get other things on the menu. Fresh Chips with a sauce were served to the table for dine in, and I don't recall that in the past. We did a pick up order from Sabor Latino in Netcong. The amount of food and the taste of each dish was unique and delicious. I didn't go to pick up the food but my husband said it was busy and feels like a nice environment to eat. We got pupusas, garnachas (which were my favorite, sopa de res, three friends, ceviche w/ chips, and there was another dish but don't recall the name. Definitely be back again and maybe eat at the restaurant. read more

I was so excited to have the pupusas here as I was recommended this spot. I wish I had ordered some more to go! I got a couple things to try here including the Birria tacos, chicken noodle soup, fried pork pupusa, and some pico de gallo with chips. I absolutely loved the consommé with the Birria and the meat was so tender and juicy. It wasn't too oily nor fatty. As for the pupusa, I loved the sauce that came with it and the little vegetables as well. The ratio of meat to bread was perfect for me and so well balanced. It was like the perfect bite each time. Same goes for the Birria. My only regret was not buying more pupusas to go! I don't think I'd order the pico de gallo again only because it was quite expensive for the amount. Other than that, I believe their menu is very reasonably priced. If I find myself in this area again, I know exactly where I will get food! read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken fajitas. NOTE: taco's are served in soft corn tortilla's but the tortilla's served with the fajita's are different & more puffy - I'd ask for the tortilla's you get with the taco's. Service was very good - they promptly brought us everything we asked for in terms of water, lemons, etc. The location has been many different restaurants. Location is a little difficult to get to which may be why. Plenty of parking. Interior-wise, they need to dim the lights - a little too bright for me! I noticed several people coming in to get take out. They also have a large selection of packaged baked goods that looked very interesting. Check it out - they are very nice people! read more

A friend and I went hiking and after having spent a long day of traveling and hiking we needed a spot that was going to serve really good food. My friend found this spot as he is Guatemalan and this a spot that I wish was closer to where I lived. He recommended what we ate and we did not expect large portions of food for anything that we ordered. I decided to try a new restaurant along with celebrating my mother's birthday. My friend had recommended it so made me want to give it a try. Now, my mother is Guatemalan and so is my husband. They are from 2 different regions so my expectations of the menu selection were big. The restaurant was very clean and neat. They have a corner with sweet breads available to buy which is a nice idea. That caught my eye because sweet breads are a staple in between meals, so I knew I was going to get some for my husband. The waitress was so friendly & awesome she is actually from Guatemala but a different region than my mom & husband, that was cool to learn & about. For appetizer I decided to try the enchiladas Guatemaltecas. Similar to what I'm used too but it was yummy and very filling. The crispy tostada bottom had a potato mixture topped with pickled beet cabbage. Sprinkled with cheese. My mom drank a mango licuado or smoothie. She enjoyed it very much. She even commented it was a fresh taste. For dinner I decided to try the Chapin platter. Chapin is the word that is used to refer that you are from Guatemala. My mom ate the shrimp tacos. My daughter ate chicken finger and fries, I didn't take a picture of the chicken fingers because they looked and tasted like any other kids chicken fingers The tacos do not come with a side dish but very pretty plated. They are priced a la carte so you have to order how many you want. It's plated with a mildly spiced tomatillo sauce and shredded radishes on the side, topped with shredded lettuce and onions. A lemon wedge on the side. The Chapin platter omggggg it was huge. It had a piece of fried crispy chicken , 2 pieces of grilled meat, rice lots of rice , black beans , macaroni salad, and slices of avocado. Definitely worth the price!!! The chicken was super crispy and well seasoned. The meat in any Latino restaurant will never be cooked to temperature thats just how it is but it's good. Black beans is a Guatemalan staple as well as tortillas that are hand made. Rice was good, the macaroni salad is not vinegary like American pasta salad it's more creamy. There was a fried egg on top as well as decorative slices of avocado. Overall everything tasted very good. I wasn't disappointed at all with taste, amount served or price!!! They are BYOB I must say there weren't any specific Guatemalan dishes on the menu that I have learned about. It's more a Central American cuisine with Mexican style tacos. With touches here and there of Guatemala. The food is very good , the option to buy sweet breads is nice too!! So I do recommend you try it but don't expect authentic Guatemalan dishes. Another gem found off the interstate from the Catskills to NYC. A really comfortable family restaurant with very good food and a great vibe. I had the Guatemala Flour Tortilla, which I thought would come separated but it was a wrap. I am not a fan of wraps but this was delicious, great grilled meat. First time here.. ordered the chicharron and yucca fries and I was pleased that the pork was not over done. It was flavorful with just the right bite to it. The horchata could've been sweeter but everyone does it slightly different. Other than that the restaurant is pretty big with a warm welcoming feeling. The menu here features entrees typically found in Mexican restaurants (tacos, burritos, quesadillas, fajitas, etc.) and American classics (wraps, salads, sandwiches, etc.) but do not overlook the many dishes unique to Guatemalan cuisine. Service is very friendly. The tortillas which accompany the Guatemalan entrees are made from corn flour, served warm, and are softer and chewier than typical flour tortillas. Many of the menu items are in Spanish with brief English translations. Thought we'd try this restaurant as we had passed it a number of times while out, and seemed to have a nice menu. I ordered the chicken enchiladas as recommended by the server. It was basically vegetarian as it had no discernible chicken! My husband ordered the shrimp burrito and there was no shrimp located at all! We'll when we pointed this out to the server, the manager (or owner not sure) became angry and demanded that we leave!! To quote him "he never wanted to see our faces again!"
