Regarding the waitlist: I called on the phone about 30 minutes before we got there to get our name on the waitlist and was told that "if you don't call an hour before you arrive, it doesn't make a difference." This didn't make much sense because she also said the wait was only 15-20 minutes... so why we couldn't just put our name on the list I'm not sure. Then she hung up on me. So. there was that. But, our server, Layla, was great! She was super sweet and attentive, we never felt rushed or ignored. The food was good, very rich and heavy though. Belgian waffle was nice. Second visit to Le Gabrielle. We previously visited the Winder location. Today we went to Monroe. We checked in online, and even though there was no one waiting and open tables when we arrived, we were still 3rd in line. It didn't take long to get seated, and we ordered right away. I asked out about the savory crepes, and she recommended the La Napoli. My wife ordered biscuits and gravy, and my daughter ordered a traditional breakfast with chicken. Forty Five minutes later, our server said there was a big check in front of ours but our food would be out soon. Another 10 minutes goes by and we have been in the restaurant for over an hour, and a manager brings out our food. They were very apologetic about the wait. My Le Napoli crepe was great! It has small bites of steak, cheese, and spinach inside the crepe, and is topped with a tomato sauce. My wife and daughter also liked their meals. The manager also offered us a complimentary sweet crepe for our wait. My daughter chose the cookies and crème. I thought it was amazing, but very rich. I dove in so fast I didn't get a picture before starting to eat it! My wife wasn't a fan of the texture, and my daughter didn't like the cream, so I had the whole thing to myself, which I was not able to finish. All things considered, I would still recommend this restaurant, and either location. The Winder location is smaller, louder, and a bit more crowded than its newer Monroe location. I've also included a photo of their take on eggs Benedict which I ordered at my previous visit in Winder. It was tasty, but I would have preferred a traditional eggs Benedict option as well, which they don't have. The waffle was tasty, and the fried chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy and tender. Poached eggs were great, and the hollandaise sauce was also on point. In my experience, you won't go wrong choosing this restaurant, but come patient, as they seem to have big crowds on the weekends and maybe a hard time keeping up in the kitchen... read more

I really love this place for dinner! I go with the pesto chicken breast, and my husband always gets some sort of dinner crêpe. They never disappoint! I always like a small starter salad before my entrée and even though it doesn't appear there is one on the menu they always accommodate and make me a small/side/house Caesar to start my meal. We picked up hoping for some comforting Southern goodness, but our tastebuds ended up filing a missing-persons report. For $40.39, we ordered country fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, fried green tomatoes, and those famously "buttery" croissants. The country fried chicken was so overcooked and dry, I'm pretty sure it was trying to mumble "... water!" every time I cut into it Mashed potatoes were so bland they made hospital food seem edgy. Fried green tomatoes were thick enough to use as coasters and somehow made me wish I was eating one. Croissants were the highlight, and honestly, we should've just ordered a basket of those and called it a day. The cinnamon butter was so good I briefly considered trying to resuscitate the chicken with it, but there was no saving that poor, overcooked bird. Even worse, my wife didn't feel great afterward. Not sure if it was the meal or just her body filing a formal complaint. Overall, we were disappointed, hungry, and wishing we'd spent $40.39 on literally anything else. I should add that my wife dines here semi-regularly and is generally satisfied (this the 2 star). I've joined her a couple times and have not had much luck. I was there today with a group. A friend and I ordered the same thing. We got ours and both crepes were cold. We sent it back same thing again. The manager took both of ours and said he would bring us something else and give us both a dessert crepe if we wanted. Well we decided we'd get the kids chicken fingers. They came out with one. They weren't happy but they went and got us another. They only gave us 1 dessert crepe. Our drinks were never refilled. Everyone else had a similar experience. We had been very excited. My sister and I were excited to go to Le Gabrielle yesterday, after having really enjoyed the Winder location in the past. It's also great that they accommodate gluten free, although for an additional cost. Unfortunately, the service at this location made for a rough -- and dragged out -- experience. We called at 12:50 on our way there to get an estimated wait time and to put our names in -- which we did and received a 30-45 minute wait time. No problem! She asked for our arrival time and said we'd be there in around 15 minutes. At 12:51, we received a confirmation text that we had been added to the waitlist. While on our way, at 1:11, my sister received a text saying that they were busier than usual and our seating time would be extended to 1:30-1:45. When we arrived, because it was busy, we decided to wait the rest of our time in the car. At 1:30, we went inside and checked in with one of the girls at the front desk. We then waited for 40 minutes with no staff member checking in or asking if we'd been helped or updating us on the wait. We also watched other people arrive and be seated. My sister got a call at 2:12. It was from a different hostess, asking if we were still coming. My sister answered that we were already here, they made eye contact within the lobby about two feet from each other, and my sister walked up to the checkin desk. The hostess asked for her name and we had checked in, because we weren't on the list. My sister responded that yes, we had checked in when we arrived at 1:30, and the hostess responded that that "could have been a mistake on their part" and that they were just waiting on a table to open up. We waited for another five-ten minutes before the hostess asked "if we were ready" and seated us. The hostess apologized for the wait and that they didn't have our name listed. Our waitress was nice, helped my sister confirm that her order was gluten free, and let us know that the bar was a little behind after we waited around 15 minutes for the smoothies we ordered. Our food arrived at 3:05. When my sister cut into her crepe, it didn't have the sauce she ordered. Our waitress didn't make it back to us until I had finished my entire meal, and my sister had eaten all she intended to eat, with some left over to take home. Our waitress asked if my sister wanted a box, and she said yes. She also let her know that the tomato basil sauce was missing and asked for it in her to go box. The waitress responded "my bad, I'll get it" and returned with the box and sauce. It didn't seem that any manager was notified of the mistakes made with our check-in or of the messed up order, though I did see that a manager helped to bring food out to the table next to us. No one came to acknowledge or apologize for the experience, and we were charged the full cost of our meal. While our waitress was nice and the food was delicious, the only acknowledgment of the issues we experienced from the hostess seemed obligatory. Unfortunately, the level of service at this location was enough that neither of us is interested in returning. read more

We decided to share a panini so that we would have room for the special dessert crepe. The chicken club panini is huge and perfect for sharing. It had a smoky flavor and was filled with goodness. The side of French fries was seasoned and crispy, and were served with a garlic cilantro dip that was so unique and delicious.
