I have used them twice one at home and one for business. The first visit was at my home which went great. Good service reasonable price. The tech was awesome. So after first experience when we had a issue with our hot water heater at work I immediately thought joe the plumber. Everything was great made call hour later come out tech. Not same as my house, he was totally rude and gave outrageous prices. He continued to tell me it would just cost little bit more to replace unit. The unit was just over year old. I call manufacturer and we were just out of warranty due to use in commercial setting. The went to tell me all parts that would need replaced would be no more than $50 for all. He was trying to take total advantage of me. Im a small business owner and every penny really matters. After finding out actual price i called office to discuss why such high quote and was told tech would call me back. Upon his call he was extremely rude and basically told me to call some other plumber to do the work. I was in total shock. So that's what i did I called a different plumber who got job done asap for only $185. They provided great service and great price. I hope they fix the techs attitude cause he will continue to lose them quality customers. I will not go back again. read more

The driver in vehicle #10 nearly caused a huge accident today. When I called to report it, the guy that answered the phone with an attitude so I have a feeling it was him. He said that he was the supervisor and asked me what I wanted. After explaining what happened he still had an attitude so I told him that I will handle this a different way. His comment to me was what are you going to do, call the police? He said it's not like they are going to write a ticket for cutting someone off. REALLY? I will never ever do business with this company. If this is how the 'supervisor' handles business, I would hate to see how they would handle a plumbing issue. read more

I had bought a new dishwasher, and called another company to install it. After the other company did not show after waiting for hours. I called Joe the Plumber. I have used them in the past and I should have called them to begin with. Glenn was there within 30 mins after I called. Installed the dishwasher and took my old one away. Lesson learned,I will call Joe the plumber again. The cost was less then the other company that did not show. Last August I called Joe the Plumber due to having a leaky pipe in my attic, they fixed it and I was very pleased with them at that time. We had a busted pipe in an attic eave. We were "in line" for a plumber with several companies, including "Joe the Plumber". We received a call from them on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 12:14 pm that a technician would be able to see us; the technician would call us before they showed up. They did not call, but they did arrive later in the afternoon.....without a flashlight. As I said, we knew we had one leak, and we were not sure if there were others, tho' we had no evidence there were. He borrowed our flashlight, and my husband guided him to the busted pipe in the eave. After examination of the 1/4-1/2 " slit in the pipe, he said the fee would be $487 to replace a 1 foot section of pipe. That fee included a $97 trip charge. If there were other leaks, there would be additional charges. We had no idea how much fixing any additional leaks would cost, but if you do the math of $487-97 (trip charge), that could be a fairly hefty price tag of almost $390/leak. If this exorbitant fee was because this was a Saturday call, we should have been told. We paid the technician for the trip charge and said "No, thank you." In the future, we are going to try our very best never to use Joe the Plumber for anything. BTW, when going to the website for Joe the Plumber to post this review, we saw they advertised "free estimates" and "restrictions apply." This idea of a "free estimate" was mentioned several times on their website. Ours definitely was not. read more

I've used them multiple times over the years and they have always been prompt, professional and skilled. The work they've done has always held up and the prices were in line for the scope of each job. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars was that they always complain that I am not in their market area before giving in and "doing me a favor" because of the repeat business. I called tonight to request an estimate on service for an emergency plumbing issue with garbage disposal. I spoke with a female from the Cypress emergency line. She advised me that estimates have to be scheduled and that I would need to call tomorrow for scheduling because she only handles emergencies. After giving her a better description of my concern and advising her that I wanted to take advantage of the emergency scheduling she told me I still needed to call back tomorrow. At this point I've gotten the impression that its 6:30pm on a Friday and obviously past her hours of giving assistance. I inquired on how this emergency thing works if I still needed to call after 9am the next day? I also asked how do I bandage the issue until I call back, she proceeds to ask me "well how long have you already been dealing with this problem because it doesn't sound overnight?" I kindly told her never mind, I'm not interested in their services. I can't give any feedback on wether their plumbers are skilled but I can say their front line intercepting potential revenue sucks! read more

Satisfactory service. Exorbitant price. $1100. to replace a toilet drainpipe flange. 1 1/2 to 2 hours work. When asked if they charge $500+ per hour was told they charge a flat rate. What is the flat rate? "Depends" 2 other plumbers said it should have been $300 to $400. CALLED to talk to owner or manager. He was on vacation. Would call me back. Waited 6 days and called back. He saw they had given me a estimate to repipe my house. Said he could make up the price on a repipe job. Gave me a quote for $4000 more than another company. Came down $3000 but didn't include replastering which the other company did. Said he still wanted me to be satisfied and would call me back by 12:00 the next day. No call. Waited a couple days and called back. Left message, but still no return call.Not satisfied at all. With price or customer service. I am in business also and don't take lightly leaving a review like this. read more

Beware! Deceptive, dishonest, did not use new product, used odds and ends found that were outdated and clearly left over from old jobs. Gave deadlines and repeatedly failed to keep them. Could go on and on, I simply want to make others aware to take great caution and do your homework before proceeding with this company. read more

I called Joe, The Plumber when the drain line that my washing machine drain connects to backed up during the drain cycle. The first plumber from Joe's was not able to free the blockage with a snake and said he suspected there was a belly in the line causing the water to stand and block the flow from the washing machine. He said a different plumber from Joe's would have to run a camera through the drain to confirm his suspicion. The second plumber came the following evening with a camera and said he confirmed the slope of the pipe was causing standing water and said for $8,200 he would replace the piping. However, once he dug up the old piping he said he could not get the slope required to correct the issue and said I would need to install a pump for an additional $3000 to cover the cost of the pump and the electrician. Over $11,000 later when they had "fixed" the problem, I ran my washing machine and the drain was still blocked and flooded my laundry room. I called Joe's and they said a technician would be there in an hour. The plumber from Joe's identified a stuck switch in the brand new pump tank as the issue. He said he was not sure why it stuck but that he flushed it, it was working and there would be no more issues.  He said I could run the washing machine and guaranteed it was fixed but to call Joe's back if there were any issues. I asked him to stay at my house to make sure it was fixed. Once again, the drain overflowed during the washing machine drain cycle. After a few more hours of troubleshooting, many apologies, promises to "make things right" and calling in a supervisor to assist, they cleared the drain. The supervisor showed me a handful of solids/rocks they removed from the piping. He said Joe's employees inadvertently left these solids in the piping when they did the repair and this would have been identified if his guys had confirmed the washing machine drained before leaving the job site. I believe the solids were the initial cause of the blocked drain and due to miscommunication between Joe's plumbers leading to them making assumptions, they attacked the wrong issue. Now I have a pump that requires annual maintenance by a plumber and landscaping repair costs to remedy where they dug up the piping and buried the pump. When they left the last time on Saturday evening, they told me there would be discussions with management on Monday to determine how to "make this right". They stressed the importance of protecting the reputation of Joe, The Plumber. I was told to rely on that reputation and integrity to accept their version of the situation. It has been 14 days and I have not heard from anyone at Joe's to "make this right".  I have not been provided an invoice with an explanation of the charges totaling over $11,000.  Their electric snake, bucket and gloves are still sitting on my porch and the caps covering my outdoor plumbing lines were not replaced. Their actions speak louder than their words about integrity. I regret not calling another plumbing company for a second opinion when Joe's quoted me such an very expensive repair to a blocked drain. read more

I am a DIY person and was changing the valve cartridge on my Moen shower then the stem broke on a Sunday at 2pm and it would not come out. Problem with a shower is there isn't a shutoff so I couldn't turn the water back on to the house. Called 10 plumbers over the next two hours and Joe The Plumber was one of 3 companies that answered their phone but the only company that could send someone out in a few hours on a weekend. I am so appreciative and thankful they could come out after hours on a weekend to fix the issue. Price was good especially considering after hours work. Shower works great now !! read more

I strongly suggest you get a price quote on any repairs prior to allowing Joe the Plumber to do a service. My complaint is they charged me $157 to screw 3 $10 parts between my water hose and water hose spout. The part can also be purchased for $6 at Lowes or Home Depot. I know it is my fault for not getting a quote before the work was done. Shame on me. The service is good. Just not happy with what they charged me without my approval!! Bad customer service/policies. They came out and gave us an estimate and the technician made me uncomfortable. We scheduled to have the work done on the condition that they send send a different tech but they assured us they would honor their original bid. When Matt showed up to do the work he told me the price would be increased by a third and obviously he had no intention of doing the work that day as scheduled . We emailed Joe the Plumber through the website and early the next morning J, Mancillas called, came by, assessed what we needed (two new water heaters) and went over the different options and prices with us. He then came back with a helper and fixed everything. The work was excellent, the price reasonable and it was handled in a very professional manner.
