Fast/friendly service. -1 Star for not accepting the yelp check in coupon that they advertise in store. Cashier said they couldn't honor it.

Brought my car in for oil change. Had an appointment. Was told to come back in 2 hours. When I returned, car had not even been touched. I sat there for ANOTHER 1/2 hour while the guy at the counter made a phone call and waited on another couple that came in after me. FINALLY he acknowledged me by saying, " Remind me again what kind of car you have!" I knew then they hadn't even touched it in TWO HOURS even though I had an appointment. He them proceeded to BLAME ME stating, " I can't help it people came in before you!" Then why do you even offer appointments because you certainly don't honor them. The conversation ended with him saying to me," Here are your keys if you want them back." Complete waste of my day/time. COMPLETE JERK!!!! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! read more

I bought a groupon to get my oil changed at Joe's Auto, I've been doing this for years - it's a great deal! Last time I had my oil changed this location didn't have availability, so I had to drive out of my way to get an appointment that worked with my schedule. I honestly might drive out of my way from now on, wasn't a fan of this location. Don't get me wrong they got the job done! However, the one who took my keys was kind of rude and looked done with the day. No big deal to me. Told me they were behind and it would take a while - fine that's whatever I didn't mind. What made this review three stars was when I got my car back and he told me "my car was really hurting" handed me the sheet and that was it. He didn't tell me what was wrong with the car! I had to read the sheet for myself. Would've been nice if there was a bit more customer service. I might've even brought my car back to get fixed if it would've been explained to me! read more

What a horrible place to take your car in. I would've given them negative 0 stars if I could. They used cheap parts and drive up the labor cost. If you can't afford it they use the snap app to reel you in. What really piss me off is that they mess with your car that way you could bring it back to them. They have the nerve and what to charge me $135 for what they purposely did to my vehicle. They broke my transmission pigtail that way I can go back and pay them more money!!! The ONLY reason I am rating 5 stars, is so that this review WILL be seen. Allow me to explain how utterly upset I am with this company. It was my first time ever using Joe's Auto services, and here's how it started: I originally booked an appointment online for a Friday morning, when the day came, I decided to call & confirm my appointment, as I never received a follow up confirmation email (already strike 1). When the gentleman answered, he said "yeah, next time call. We don't book online"... then why have a website with such option? Anyways, 'Jake' then tells me I can only be scheduled in until Tuesday (strike 2). So I take the appointment. Come Tuesday, I arrive at my appointment to be told by the gentleman working up front, "mmm... there's nothing on the board here?" (As in, my appointment was never scheduled). STRIKE 3. It wasn't until I mentioned to the gentleman, that a man named Jake had confirmed my appointment, that he walked in the back, asked, and then proceeded to help me. (I haven't even gotten to the frustrating part, and that's 3 strikes already). Now, after my oil change was done, the gentleman inside rang me out for the service while my car was being brought around. He handed me my receipt and said the car was being brought up front and I was good to go. As I see another man pulling my car forward and I thank him, expecting him to hand me my keys, he says, "did you pay already?" To which I responded "yes sir, would you like to see the receipt?" "No" he says, hands me the keys, but as he opens the door to walk inside, I hear him ask the gentleman that rang me out, "hey! Is she good?!" Needless to say, that little interaction felt very rude and unprofessional as well. STRIKE 4. But the cherry on top, and the TRULY FRUSTRATING AND DISAPPOINTING thing about this all, is that the next day (Wednesday) driving home from work at 9pm on a very poorly lit 2 way road (a highly dangerous road at night), my car just stopped running and turned off on me. In the middle of driving down this road. I wont go into the stressful details of that night, but I ended up having to have my car towed home and it hasn't moved from my garage since.. why is this relevant to Joe's Auto you ask? Because, I come from work yesterday, to see a postcard from Joe's Auto that says "let's get that oil leak fixed!"... And can you guys guess what's wrong with my car that caused it to all of a sudden stop on me? That's right! An issue with the Oil leak! That Joe's Auto knew about ALL ALONG but decided to wait and tell me of the issue, over a fucking postcard, one week later, AFTER my appointment in person, once my car has stopped working... (pardon my French). I'm sure you can all imagine the rage I was in, when I saw that postcard and the fact that had those workers, just told me THEN AND THERE, I would have gladly paid them THEN AND THERE to fix up any issues in my car. But no, instead they decided to be "cute" (or whatever the hell you guys are going for) and send me a postcard about the issue, after my car is no longer in use, and after paying over $100 in just towing and having a mechanic tell me what's wrong... which again, was the oil leak. That Joe's Auto had full knowledge of, the day they gave me back my keys & let me drive my car thinking nothing was wrong. The whole experience I had with them is truly, truly disappointing. I have never been more livid in my life over a service I have received. I have never even posted on Yelp! before, until now, simply so I can voice how TERRIBLE this experience was and I hope they don't screw over other hard working people, with simple issues. Save yourself a lot of money in the long run, and go to someone that'll do things right and professionally. Should've stuck with Cobblestone. Worst mistake using/trusting the mechanics of Joe's Auto. This was my first time using this company Joe's I do have family member's who have used Joe's for oil change . So I thought I would bring my vehicle for a tune-up and oil change very nice and professional customer service . Everything seemed to be ok when I picked up my Jetta I only use my car once a week due to working at home well today I jump into my car and drove about 3miles and when I got back I see fresh oil stains on my drive way. I was first introduced to Joe's Auto Avondale, AZ by a flyer advertisement that came in the mail. At the time, I needed to get a transmission service and a fuel injection service. They had some coupons in the advertisement for the services I needed. The prices were amazing compared to the GM dealer. I arrived at the location 10/30/14 to get the services completed. One of the managers Taylor provided excellent customer services, he was knowledgeable to answer my car service questions, he was up front with the costs associated with the job and they are efficient and work quickly. This place offers such a great value at an affordable price. I was very impressed with my first experience. Joe's Auto is a simple family owned auto shop with 5 other stores in Arizona. The storefront is clean, they have some chairs to sit while you wait, a nice TV and free WIFI if you ask. On 11/4/14, I was back to get my check engine light checked out to diagnose the issue. Jeff had checked me in and processed my service. He provided awesome customer services, was knowledgeable in answering all my questions and it was a personable experience. I ended up needing an intake camshaft actuating part for my engine since the hydraulic mechanism was non-operational. It was a dealer only part so they had the part delivered within 45 minutes and the job was completed in 1 hour and 45 minutes. Again, I was very happy and impressed with my experience here. I highly recommend taking your vehicle here for future services. Why pay more at the dealer when you can support a family owned business and get your vehicle services done at a reasonable price. Simple jobs will not be done right. Don't trust them with your car as it will cost you more plus they will waste your time and money. They installed the wrong part and didn't even noticed until I took the car back. During this whole process they did not offer any solutions or a refund for the wrong repair. I will cut my lose of$100.00 but consider my self lucky that I didnt lose more. Just your "below average Joe". I was warned before about them. I took my grand am to them with AC issues. I knew I had to re-charge the freon at the least. When I was called back with a quote, they told me that the upper hose had a very bad leak. So I get to the shop and they told me I needed a couple other things also. So here is the bad part. I tell them I was not wanting to pay so much now. After telling me the hose was very bad and after I said I was not going to fix it they asked if I wanted to go ahead and charge the AC and see if it held. Wtf? To me if my AC had a huge leak, why charge it? They were lying. I had a family friend that retired as a mechanic. The hose had no leak at all. The air is working great. I'm telling you. They may seem nice or honest, but don't go there with your eyes wide shut. They are scam artists. read more

I went to get an oil change and the guy doing the oil change came inside and told the idiot handling the front that my radiator was leaking. This POS went to check it out and came back just 10 seconds and told me it was leaking "drastically and will cause a catastrophic engine failure" I told him I will talk with my husband because I never saw a "drastic leak", then asked me to call him right away because I won't make it home, I told him I was not going to replace my radiator until I went home and check it out myself. He proceed to CALL ME CRAZY SEVERAL TIMES, when I asked him who was he calling crazy he said he was thinking aloud! He then started typing some kind of BS in my receipt and called me crazy again. This POS obviously wasn't happy with the Groupon, so tried to put pressure and manipulate me to replace my radiator. Guess what? I'm not stupid, I know how a radiator works and I would definitely know if I had a "drastic leak"!!!!!, I've been driving now over 2 weeks and my radiator is working just fine!!!!!!! Normally I am a good judge of character, but I missed the mark when it came to Joe's Auto. This business does NOT act with integrity. I have spent TONS of money there over 2 years. I don't know what I was thinking. Recently, I caught them in a lie.. In addition, they tried to charge me far more than even the dealership quoted. When I caught Matt in a lie, he stumbled around and ended up cutting me a "deal" that was more than their labor rate. This business is crooked and please do not go there . They created a radiator leak in my car that did not exist as I think they try to prey on single women driving a more expensive car. I was told that they would charge me $1000 to replace the radiator and hoses that day. I said no . I checked on my "slow radiator leak " for three weeks and put an aluminum pan underneath my car on the garage floor where the " leak" supposedly existed. I captured not ONE drop of antifreeze. I also purchased a radiator from O'Reilly's for $296.00 plus tax and shipping as I know friend mechanics who would help me replace it, if needed. I bought a gallon of antifreeze to carry around with me in the car as I was taught where to check the antifreeze level when the car was cold. Fluid level remained the same for three weeks. I returned the radiator for a refund and said to the clerk at O'Reilly's that Joe's Auto lied to me and created this leaky radiator problem . He replied " don't ever go there ; they are crooked ." I should have read the reviews before taking my car here! It is not my trusted mechanic. Though I just moved and noticed an oil leak... Friday afternoon, I took my 04 Subaru Forrester to Taylor the "new" manager. After two hours with the car they determined (with a straight face no less) it was the oil cooler that needed to be replaced... $200. I told them "No." On the way home I hear scraping. Pulled over and found my oil dust pan had not been put back on! It was in half. Joe's Auto was closed... I called at 8am Sat morning. Taylor said come on in we will fix it... They zip tied it to the main frame! Called my car "OLD, RUSTED AND CORRODED!!!!!!!!!!!" They are not going to pay for a new part. I talked to Taylor's manager, Lars,who stated "He could not afford to loose any man hours hunting the junk yard for a unnecessary part"... I called Power Subaru... $7.00. Really? I need to warn people to stay away from this place. My husband brought his expedition in to be repaired (4 times), they kept blaming it on bad parts. After spending $1100, the truck broke down half way to San Diego. We had to pay for towing, and spent another $500 to fix what Joes screwed up. I made the mistake bringing my 2014 Jeep in for and oil change, needles to say I was driving to San Diego, made it to Gila Bend and my oil light came on, I called Joes and they wanted to tow it back. Instead I brought it to garage in Gila bend for a quick check and they said it was probably just a sensor ( no sign of oil leaking). I continued to San Diego and my engine light came on ( I called Joes, and right away, they said that's nots caused from us). I got to San Diego and my brand new jeep was running bad. My husband took it to Jiffy Lube, and come to find out, Joes put in the wrong oil filter and almost blew my engine!!!!! I called Joes, and demanded a refund for what I paid out to repair what the screwed up. I had to go around in circles to be refunded, they thought by telling me they fired the mechanic, I would be content with that. But I finally did get reimbursed, but I paid almost $80 for an old change, and filter that almost blew my engine. Please, please, please, do not go near this place, these mechanics can't even do an oil change without doing damage, my husband vehicle had to be repaired from the work they did. I am filing complaints with the AG's office and the BBB, to protect other consumers. read more

My car was sent out after an oil change 2 quarts low on oil. I have contacted them twice. The first time I was told they would call me back and take care of it. There was never a call back. The second time Lars just made excuses and said , "my car burns oil." Amazingly it still has all of the oil my husband had to put in after my "oil change". read more

This place was great! Energetic and positive employees, a clean waiting area that was very comfortable, and an atmosphere that made the wait go by very quick. Issues with my vehicle were clearly explained, and the staff made it a point to request from me my permission to do additional maintenance. First time getting an oil change here, won't be back. I have oil miraculously leaking all over... should have known something was getting screwed up when I was peeking through the door to the garage and they shut the door. I would take it back and make them fix it but I am sure they will tell me its something else. Just like the shocks they said were leaking and needed replaced ASAP. I took it to my brother who is a mechanic and he said one of the was wet but not to waste my money... and I didn't have my brother do the oil change because he lives in north scottsdale and for a regular oil change I didnt think I had to take it way out there... guess again. read more

Joe's Auto is an American repair shop run by Americans - which is not always easy to find in Phoenix. It's the only place we will take our truck to when it needs repairs or maintenance. They've kept our 14 year old Dodge running like a champ for the last 9 years! They do tend to charge more for parts, though (about double in most cases), but that's because their mechanics get a percentage of the parts they install. For the quality of work that's done, it's worth it for the peace of mind it brings, knowing that the work was done correctly. read more
