I attempted to contact the shop directly before I came to do a rating, I got a response weeks after I reach out to them, and I haven't heard anything back since then. I am not satisfied with the service I received. When I initially took my vehicle to you on December 4th, my check engine light was on and my radiator fluid was leaking. I advised I only wanted the issue that led to my check engine light and leak to be fixed because that's all I could afford at the time. I was told it was the cause was the Intake Manifold Gasket. The total came to $5005.22 I got a call saying my vehicle was ready and I picked it up on December 17th (8 days after drop-off). I was told to check engine light was still on and they're not sure why, but they drove the car and everything is fine. I drove my car to enterprise to drop my rental back off and then to the grocery store. While on the freeway, to the grocery store, the car shut off. The coolant and engine overheating warming lights came on. (The issue I just paid $5005.02). I called your shop twice and no answer and then I sent an email. December 18th I received a call back and was advised they will come to my house and pick my truck back up. Two men came and picked my truck up. I got a call December 19th. Stating it was now the heat module management/unit that needed to be replaced which came out to another $1078.54. My car was picked up December 18. I did not receive my car back until January 7th. I was told twice before this date that I was going to get my car back. I ended up having to spend $726 for a rental car. My issue is I had to pay $2000 just to get my car taken apart and I wanted whatever the major issue was to be fixed. According to you, it was the intake manifold gasket, nothing else. The fact that I paid $2000 and the heat module management/unit was not identified as needing to be fixed/replaced, I feel like I got extorted. My car was not a priority even after I said I had a rental car, my car was at your shop for 23 days in total. January 7th, 2026 I picked my car up and I have been doing minimal driving. January 10th the check engine light is back on again. (The issue I just paid a total of $6083.56). Not including rental cars charges of $726. At this point I do not want to take my truck back because it is apparent and I mean no disrespect that your shop does not know how to fix my vehicle. I would like some of my money back. read more

Service was phenomenal, first time customer and I went in for a wheel alignment and coolant flush and change, not only did they give me an excellent estimate, they did the job on the same day I took my vehicle in. Glad I found the "for the people" mechanics not much left of them but was priced at an affordable amount of $400 plus, compared to the leading dealership mechanics who were going to charge me an arm and leg for those two request for about $895 and they had to hold it for 3days. I'm good, glad I found Cien motors highly recommend, ask for Christian as well he was a good representative for the company and as far as providing service, information and overall good quality service. They promised to fix my mustang and it was not fixed and I had to take it to the dealer for fixing because the supposedly couldn't figure out after 2 months what was wrong. Promised to get it to pass emissions and they couldn't. Then promised to fix an alternator on my other car and couldn't fix that because after 2 weeks couldn't get the part . What mechanic shop can't get parts. Took my Honda Pilot for a diagnostic job to figure out why battery was discharging overnight. Well, a 2 hours job turned into an all day, which would've been fine if there was any follow ups or updates from the shop. But none of that. Next day after waiting all day with no updates, I called mid afternoon the shop and was told that it's gonna need more "LOOKING". Third day same deal no contact, no updates. So I called and was told by the "kid in charge" ...yeah no kidding... that they were so busy that the mechanic didn't have time, and that he only worked on my car in between cars (NOT A PRIORITY AT ALL, almost like I'm getting free service). He assured me that he'll check with the Tech and call me back with an update. DIDN'T happen, so before closing time I decided to go to the shop get my car. One of two things, either my car sat their for 3 days and they only started working it same day b4 I picked it up, or worse they worked on it and left it there to sit for 3 days to justify a $400 extra charge for more diagnostics. A $266 initial job turned into a $661 one and I don't even know if the issue was found ( I have to drive the car a couple days b4 I know). Oh and I left out.. the smug little man at the desk when I questioned him charging me an extra $400 when my car was basically sitting in their parking lot by their own admittance, he said that if you don't pay I'll call the authorities!!!! read more

I took my car in 6/19/23 to have a brake job, and oil change. 6/20/23 I picked the car up after they said it was ready. When I got home I read the invoice. At the bottom of the invoice for recommendations. It said power steering fluid contaminated, and brake fluid contaminated. I was shocked spending $887.02 on brakes and they didn't flush the brake fluid. And they didn't even ask if I wanted new power steering fluid. I've had several brake jobs with different vehicles and they always flush the brakes, and put in new fluid. I will never come back to this business. What a terrible way to run a business. read more

I paid $5,000 for an engine rebuild (which I was charged an extra $300 for new cylinder heads) and less than 10,000 mi later, I'm having serious engine problems. I was then told I would have to pay almost an extra $1,000 just to have the vehicle looked at. I really love the people here, very respectful and friendly. I had an estimate on my A/C, I was charged $90 just to check and see what the problem was and was told it would be a little over $2,000! The whole A/C system had to be replaced. I went to another place and I was told $900! That's a really big difference. Having A/C here in AZ is not a luxury is a necessity and $2,000 is pretty much two mortgage payments. Not to mention that we have all had to struggle with the horrible outcomes of COVID-19. Dropped my car off for rear wheel bearing replacement and an Engine light. They charged me $3,500.00 and when I went to pick up my car, the door handles were ripped off the two front doors, the center console was broken. Have no idea why they were even in my center console. The inside of my car was filthy as if they left the windows down in a dust storm. They replaced a map sensor, fuel pump and alternator. Right before I picked the car up they called me to tell me that the thermostat housing was leaking, so I agreed to have them fix it. To me any time you mess with the thermostat housing and while your there, you should replace the thermostat. They told me the thermostat was working fine. Guess what, the engine light came back on with a code to replace the Thermostat. Wow! Not done yet! I go to add fuel to the car and gas pours out all over the ground at Circle K. I took the car apart myself and found that they did not seat the fuel pump housing seal correctly. Wow! These guys are epic! Please think twice before taking your car to these guys. read more

I took my car in yesterday to get the rack and pinion and leaking axle repaired.. They called me 3 hours later and told me it would cost $1120 to repair the rack and pinion and $1800 to repair both. I told them to just fix the rack and pinion. When I went to pick up my car they hit me with a $1640 bill. I told them that that wasn't what they quoted me over the phone and they should honor the quote they gave me. If I knew it was going to be $1640 to fix the rack and pinion I wouldn't have agreed to get the work done. I got shafted by this auto shop.. I'm hoping this review will stop them from doing the same to someone else. My advice is do not attempt to get your car fixed here. If you do take your car here, get the quote in writing before you agree to let them do the repairs.. Don't count on a verbal quote read more

So a few weeks ago I developed an audible tick in my engine. My Jeep was not losing performance or mpg's but for obvious reasons, I did not want to drive a vehicle if it was making strange sounds. So I heard about Cien from my pop who is the most frugal man I have ever met and decided to take it in and get it diagnosed. Initially, they said it would be a $110 diagnosis but they were able to diagnose it in under 30 minutes and so the diagnosis was about $50. I have met a lot of dishonest mechanics in my life and it would have been easy...very very easy...for Cien to charge me the $110 and not say anything. However...the fix was going to cost about $1,700. This is because they needed to replace a rocker arm in my Jeep and that involves getting into the valve (which is not an easy process). I considered doing it myself but I don't have the expertise with a job like this and it would be very easy for me to break something in here. So I decided to do what I recommend to everyone. I called a few other shops and asked for a price quote on replacing a rocker arm in my specific vehicle. Everywhere I looked seemed to quote me a higher price or was too far away. So I decided to get the job done at Cien. I knew that there was a good chance that the camshaft in my vehicle was also going to need to be replaced and I was right. They called me as soon as they opened the valve and told me it would cost about $900 to replace which I thought was a little low. You see, you can replace a rocker arm without removing the camshaft, but to remove a camshaft requires removing the timing chain which is waaaaay above my expertise level. So I bit the bullet and was in this for about $2,600 now. And...I waited The following Monday afternoon they called me and said it was ready to be picked up. Then Alissa (who I got to know through this whole process) explained to me that she looked all over the internet for cheaper parts and was able to save me...SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!! So that made my day. I was able to get a rocker arm and camshaft replaced for $2,062 after taxes. To be honest it sucks having to pay that much but that's a really really good deal and I was very happy. I really like my Jeep, however, I will never buy one again (and I hope Diamler Chrysler somehow reads this and asks me why because I have thousands of reasons). But if you own one like me then you should get all your stupid maintenance problems taken care of at Cien. I'm actually gonna be going there in a few months to get my spider gears replaced (reason number 1) and I believe the employees at Cien are very capable of performing this complicated task. read more

Cien Motor Werks nailed it with a new sound system in my 2017 Mercedes C300. Replaced all the door speakers and added a 10" sub, all powered by a 4channel and mono channel amp, everything Rockford Fosgate. The sound is amazing and the sub hits hard and crisp plus the install came out clean and well concealed. Jaime was great to work with and was very helpful with figuring out exactly what I wanted. Last month my boyfriend bought our car in for replacing part on car that Hyundai was trying to charge $600+ for. Cute waiting area, smells delicious and very clean. They have TV and magazines. Alyssa is really courteous she is the receptionist and mechanics daughter. Got an appt for 11 am on Thursday at the Avondale location to have back lift and blower looked at. Dropped my car off with a promise that I would hear back from them in a couple of hrs. At 4:15. Still had not heard from them. I called and learned they had not even looked at my vehicle yet and we're keeping it overnight. Voiced my concern then about not being contacted. Called at 1:30 pm on Friday to find out what is going on. Guy advised they have to wait for parts but they should arrive by 11:30 am tomorrow so they again were keeping my car overnight I advised again that I'm not happy with not being contacted. His response was well you can come get your car if you want. I live about 30 minutes away so I asked when it would be done if I allowed them to keep it again overnight. Was advised the part should be in around 11:30 and assured I would hear back as it would only take a couple of hrs once the parts were received. Again I voiced my concern about not having been contacted with updates. It is now 4:00 pm Sat and I just called to find out what the heck is going on only to learn they closed at 3:00 pm. I've had to call each and every time to learn about what is going on and now I have no way to get my vehicle until Monday! Got to say the customer service sucks! Getting struts put on a lift gate should NEVER take 5 days. Hopefully I'll get my vehicle back on Monday with the back hatch fixed and never have to return to be subjected to such bad service again. Update: Shortly after posting this I received a phone call from Jaime. He listened to all the details of my issue and came in personally to get my car back to me. I was able to pick up my car at 6:15 pm. He did find the issue was still present so I returned with my vehicle Monday morning. Jaime continued to be my contact and kept me very well informed. Since Jaime took over a 5 star experience has been received so I changed my original 1 star to 3 for the average. On 10/10, I took my van in to find out if I needed to replace my engine. Tom told me he could and that it would be an hour labor charge. I brought it in, and all they told me was that I needed a lower radiator hose and a thermostat! And they couldn't tell me if I needed an engine until they replaced that. They wanted $500!!! I had a water pump and thermostat replaced 1/2020 for $1,178.07. I had a check engine light evaluation 8/2021. Temperature sensors were replaced at at cost of $962.00. Shortly after leaving the repair shop, the check engine light reappeared. I returned to Cien Motor Works and was notified that I would have to pay $107.37 for a diagnostic of the check engine light. I was informed that the thermostat would have to be replaced at a estimated cost of $400. I sought advise elsewhere and was notified that the thermostat had been recently removed. No thermostat was in the car. The car had only been serviced at Cien. The thermostat was replaced and the check engine light issue resolved. I can only believe that I was scammed. read more
