Alright, so this is my second day in a row ordering from Joe's Bagels in Brick, and I was really hoping they'd redeem themselves after yesterday--but somehow it was even worse. Yesterday I ordered the Oceanport Wrap, and there was barely any chicken in it. I mean, hardly any. Today I tried the Philly with eggs. Since I ordered it without cheese, I expected the other ingredients to stand out, but it was just plain, dry, and underwhelming. Where were the potatoes and the veggies? For over $13, I expected a breakfast sandwich that actually looked and tasted like it was worth the price. Two visits in a row and both were disappointing. At these prices, I'd expect much better quality and consistency. read more

I didn't get anything too crazy I got the Mr. protein five egg whites turkey and I added avocado was fresh and healthy. I'm giving a five stars because of the Customer Service you would be surprised how many establishments are walking into and I get no greeting from staff, I barely get eye contact. I was pleasantly surprised that I walked in and was immediately greeted. Situation: jet lag due to crossing 6 time zones Mission: hot coffee Solution: Joe's Bagel shop was immediately at hand so I stopped in, After Action Report: Excellent coffee. I normally drink black dark roast but something about the pumpkin house special drew me in. Unlike most flavored coffees, this tasted like it was brewed with real pumpkin. Four times in a row I have had my order prepared incorrectly. The first two times I did not call back or say anything, but the 3rd time I decided it was enough. They apologized for habitually forgetting spinach on my sandwich, and said the next time it will be complimentary. Ok sounds great. I go back and they this time put the wrong cheese on it. Each time the order has been taken down correctly, as it reads properly on the receipt. It appears the kitchen staff lacks the basic reading abilities to complete orders correctly. It gets better. I call back yet again to express the frustration, and the woman who handled the call said "well it's only a wrong cheese, it's not like something was forgotten". I of course say that it is nonetheless wrong yet again. She then says "well it's always wrong and you keep ordering". Naturally I said I'm done ordering from them and ended the call. Sorry that this is the only bagel store in the area; and usually has good food - when it is prepared correctly that is. My apologies for giving you the benefit of the doubt, multiple times over. Not awful but definitely not good. Service was very subpar. The young gentlemen behind the counters needed to be reminded and told twice about every part of the order. They were very obviously disinterested in their line of work. The food was nothing amazing. I needed to drown my Long Branch Wrap in Caesar dressing in order to give it some flavor. The macaroni salad that comes with the meal smelled inedible, and the pickle I was given had a tear in it (weird). The surfboard that served as a table me and my friend sat down at was cool, and the place was almost entirely empty at 1pm on a Thursday. I asked for 2 egg everything lightly toasted and to go light on the cream cheese. They burnt one of the bagels, and cream cheese was oozing out of the sides of both of the bagels. If that were the case then fine, maybe they just weren't paying attention but there is lettuce in my bagel. I watched the person making my bagel cutting up greens before she creamed and cut my bagels and it seems that she didn't wipe/clean the knife before hand. Very confused about the low reviews on this page, my experience here was honestly amazing. Hopefully it wasn't just a "good day" and they have changed their ways but this place was awesome. Finding good bagels is not like it used to be, however these were unreal. Tasted like it was out of a Brooklyn bakery in marine park. The place was spotless, and the staff was friendly and fast. The bagels were massive and cooked perfectly. The cream cheese ratio was perfect. The egg sandwich was neat and wasn't sliding out of the bagel like most places. I couldn't believe the quality of these bagels, better than any bagel place I have had in New Jersey. I was literally passing through, saw it and stopped. It had a surf shore feel to it and was busy but my order was still completed quickly. Most of these reviews seem like personal attacks on employees, luckily for me and other first timers I have no bias or judgment towards the staff other than praise and compliments. My father has, in a short time, determined the bagel and nova lox at this establishment to be his favorite local lunch. I called to ask when they close today, Sunday, (father's day). At 2:00pm when I arrived, the counter staff seemed confused when the employee in the back had already thrown away the remaining bagels, who exasperated "it's already 2:00!" The counter person was apologetic in the "what-can-you-do" gesture. The question here is, why tell customers that you close your bagel shop at 2:30pm, when you discard your BAGELS by 2:00pm? If I were the owner, I'd be embarrassed by the lack of common hospitality sense, and furious about the subjective and objective loss of business. read more

If a customer is standing there for several minutes they should be greeted. Three employees were behind the counter when was making sandwiches, one was making bagels and one was doing nothing. Just had the worst experience here. Two behind the counter kept stopping what they were doing to engage in store gossip as the other was sweeping the floor behind the counter. After five minutes of being ignored I asked if they were open today. As I waited for my order I painfully watched the kid that was on the broom screw up my order three times. At that point I asked for my money back and left. Everything bagel toasted with scallion cream cheese...they just couldn't pull it off. First time to very ordering from here and it was really good. My boyfriend had the tidal wave and I had the pork cheese and potatoes. Always trying a new place, the cut of the potatoes is always a gamble but I figured why not. It was definitely not a disappointment. I am sorry but these are the worst bagels I have had. I am trying to support local businesses and the ordering and delivery was a snap but the bagels. It is basically a blop of bread cooked, they are not round, no hole in the middle, 3 inches high and taste not good. Please put more time into the product so maybe next time the customer will come back. Just not this one! read more

I'm not a picky customer at all. Most of the time, I'll let things slide but this place is a complete mess. First I tried to get my order delivered. The driver called out so I went to go pick it up, no big deal. They told me 20 minutes. After I got there, I waited over a half hour for my order. Then after my order was done, they just gave it to me and said have a nice day without realizing I didn't even pay yet. I went up and paid for it. Then I got home and found my order was wrong (wrong bagels, no meat on a sandwich ordered with it) and missing items. I tried calling them for the last half hour and nobody is picking up.
