Manera's Restaurant hosted my 70th Birthday Party on Saturday, Feb 28th. My two wonderful kids and my wife organized the who thing with the Restaurant staff. I had 38 friends join me. My son and daughter were able to setup early and guests starting pouring into the restaurant. There were two other parties going on, but the room we were in was perfect. Everyone said the food was fantastic. The salmon, pork chop and Chicken Parmasean was cooked to perfection. There were plenty of staff members to serve the food and provide service. The Party lasted 3 hours and guests walked around and talked and we relived many favorite moments in my life so far. Overall, it was Perfect! read more

Excellent choice by my brothers. Manera's restaurant has been here a few years replacing the now defunct Famous Daves. We all sat in one of the side rooms so the noise wouldn't be overbearing. Cara was an excellent experienced server. The entrées were excellent with the accompanying soups. The Buratta was tangy and sweet with raspberry sauce combined with arugula. They now can sell wines. Went for the first time on Christmas Eve. Food was great as was the service. I had the spare ribs and wife had the halibut. Both delish. Nice place and eager to return. Decided to make reservations for New Year's Eve. Wife had the swordfish, I had the seafood and pasta. Everything was good until I tried to eat the calamari in the mixed seafood dish. It was hard and rubbery and could not be eaten. Let the waitress know and they offered a free desert which I declined, then took 30% off the dish to make up for it. Things happen but still very disappointing for a seafood restaurant. Otherwise 5 stars. read more

Went for the first time tonight- got a reservation for a Friday at 5:30 pm in late May. Our server Cara was excellent, friendly and accurate. Gave us all the specials and answered our questions. We brought a bottle of wine and they also sell some local wine here. I had the lump of crabmeat appy and the pistachio encrusted salmon special which was cooked all the way through as I requested. My husband got the octapus appy and loved the way the served it, shaved, marinated w red onion, avocado- he got the burger cooked very rare the way he asked. He was in heaven. No dessert was ordered we were too full! The ambiance is clean cut, very nice and minimalist. There are three rooms and a private party in one room. Plenty of employees taking care of business. We were not rushed. We will go back. It's a bit expensive, though kit unreasonable the way things are going in restaurants lately. read more

Had reservations for my son's birthday dinner. Had to wait at the front hostess stand for almost 10 min before anyone walked by. The servers came by to greet us as we stood there and went above and beyond to make sure we got taken care of- but where was the host or manager? Strange start. We were seated by a server who was very busy. Our table was situated in an odd part of the dining room- private which was nice but just seemed like a long hallway. Little to no decor in the place made it seem like they just opened or like we were on a tv set lol. Pendant lights were a little blinding but I'm not trying to sound like a Karen. Our server tried to fix the lighting but it just popped right back on. :) we appreciated the effort! Our server seemed very new and he was doing great, but overall could tell they were understaffed. He went above & beyond to make sure we were happy- even bringing the cake already lit out to our table while singing! Was not expecting that. Manager came by once and seemed annoyed. We asked him for a togo box by accident thinking it was our server and he seemed annoyed that we asked and then asked us what our servers name was. Shouldn't he know who has our table? We felt like we got our server in trouble for something very minuscule. Food was delicious from start to finish - steaks were cooked CORRECTLY and everything looked beautiful. Kudos there! Stumbled upon this place by accident. The food was fantastic the lemon chicken was done excellent. Simple dish many can't execute well. The chicken saltimbocca was a pleasant surprise to see as well as it's not widely served a strong sauce but overall solid choice. The soup was simple and hearty. Not pictured was the house salad that was just a tad too earthy for my liking. The service was excellent multiple people running to fill glasses and attend any needs even with 2 large private parties going on it was great. The decor is well put together and is reminiscent of an art gallery. Solid pick overall it just fell short for me in couple departments, the art gallery feel is put off by the doctors office style paintings. The seafood offerings i think are lackluster, it's your standard offerings (crab cake, seafood tower , shrimp in red sauce). There is some one in the kitchen with creativity that has some skill i think they can do much better then your standard offerings. Also it's BYOB they do have a small 6-8 house bottles as well. read more

We tried this restaurant for the first time with my mom and with 2 little ones. Everyone enjoyed the food and had a good time. This place is polished enough that my kids felt like they had to behave but relaxed enough that it was OK that they were not on perfect behavior. Manera's features lunch specials with an extended time frame, likely to cater to an older clientele. I certainly was not complaining about getting a good deal! There was no one entrée that stood out from the others, and that is a positive. I would recommend that you just order what you like! For dessert though, you have to go with the eclipse cake. Great flavor and a satisfying end to any meal. We would come here again. read more

Manera's Restaurant in Brick hosted a gathering for approximately 30 people after a funeral today. The menu offered a wide enough variety of entrees that everyone could find an item that they would enjoy. The food was outstanding from the salad to the entree itself, mashed potatoes, and vegetables. What also made it such a terrific experience was the server, Dixon. He was quick, polite, and unobtrusive. He moved effortlessly among the group to bring the food and clear the plates. A special shout out to the kitchen staff as well as all of the dishes came out of the kitchen and the food was hot. You could tell that it had not been sitting under a heating lamp. Lovely waitress Katie! Upbeat and pleasant - she has a great personality. She gave us the specials and told us that a potato, soup or salad came with our entrees. I got the NY Strip steak and my husband got the Saltimbocca Chicken. We got the upgraded salads, mine was Arugula and fresh pear - delicious and my husband got the upgraded Caesar salad. He demolished it. The dinners were outstanding. The steak was succulent and perfectly seasoned, the vegetables and baked potato were as well. My husband devoured his Chicken Saltimbocca! Both excellent & the cod was cooked perfectly- so tasty! The salad was very good also - we had the house light citrus dressing. Service was very good. Bill and I went to dinner here with some friends. The food was spectacular the restaurant was beautiful. It had a big fireplace making it extra special. My friend was craving Italian food, so we decided to give Manera's a try. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. We were quickly attended to and provided with beverages. It didn't take long for our food to come out after we placed our orders. The portions were large and piping hot. In particular, my eggplant parmesan was gigantic and will probably end up lasting for 2-3 meals. The homemade marinara sauce was so good that I had to ask for extra. It tasted fresh, light, and had a nice sweet and slightly tangy taste. The service was also spectacular. The 2 individuals that waited on our table checked in on us regularly and promptly provided us with any refills or extras that we requested. We were able to be seated and finish paying in only a little less than an hour. They never rushed us, though. It was an enjoyable meal, and we'll definitely keep this establishment in mind the next time we are craving Italian food. read more

If I had to describe the food I just had at Manera's, it could be done in two words: absolutely outstanding. I've been eyeing up Manera's since they first opened, and replaced the now-gone Famous Dave's BBQ. Having heard nothing but good things about it, and seeing that they had a steak au poivre burger - I knew I needed to give it a shot. Fast forward to today, and a quick lunch trip later, I'm officially hooked. I arrived at 12:00 on a Sunday, with the place absolutely chock full of patrons (they had two parties that had booked the place). Despite this, service was absolutely stellar, our waitress was incredibly attentive and helpful, and the food came out stunningly quickly for being so crowded. My burger came out exactly as I ordered it (medium rare), and I've gotta say, it might be one of the best burgers I've eaten in my life. On par with Pat Lafrieda burgers in terms of meat quality, and the sauce, brie, and char all lived in perfect harmony. I'll be thinking of that burger for weeks to come. Even the fries were perfectly cooked! Decor is a little sparse, which would be the only 'downside' I can think of. Personally, I dine out for food, not ambiance, so this isn't a huge deal to me. All in all, if lunch being THIS good was any indication, I'll certainly be back for dinners in the future. An absolute gem in a town that's full of entirely too many chain food restaurants, and one that I highly suggest folks give a try to. Absolutely top notch! read more

I had to write another review...Maneras has become our favorite restaurant. Best variety and quality of entrees. We've tried most of the menu and it's hard to pick the best. I love the grilled chicken. Sounds simple but the chef has elevated the dish to perfection. Also making the meal a joy is the customer service. Joe, the best server ever has made us feel so welcome. He makes sure every need is met and accommodates any request, he even takes care of things before we think about it. What a pleasure it is to dine with him. Booked my mom's surprise 70th birthday party here, which was literally two days ago. We had a little over 30 people and the room was nice. It was a three course meal starting with salads. Everybody thought it was a little strange when the salads came out because there was no dressing offered- even though when I was building the menu, I asked for balsamic. So everybody just assumed that they were eating a plain salad with some zoodles and peanuts on them. Also, the servers did not offer any beverages( soda, iced tea etc.) So, you actually had to ask for them. The vast majority of the guests just had water when I looked around the room. Very weird. The entrées were actually quite delicious. Everybody seemed to enjoy them. And not that it's the staff's responsibility, but it would've been nice if somebody told us that our time was winding down. It was 12-3 for the party, and at 2:50 I looked at the time and started to panic because I know we're not allotted a lot of time to clean up and get the decorations down. All in all it was a decent experience. But definitely some things the staff should consider when serving parties. I also think it's kind of unprofessional to not reply to the reviews that are posted. Ok... I was looking for a good steak for lunch and this place came up on Yelp as one of the best in the Toms River area; so off I went. The ambiance when you walk in is simple and comfortable, right up my alley. I was seated right away and my server Terrance, was polite, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Once I saw the diverse menu, I decided that I need not limit myself to Steak... They had an early bird menu, 12-4 that was great. Each meal included either soup or salad as well as dessert and coffee! They have a selection of wines available but it is a BYoB, so I came prepared with a can of Smithwicks. I chose the pork chop meal and it was spectacular! First, Terrance brought out a loaf of bread and some nice soft butter. I told myself that I wasn't going to eat it all, but the bread was so good that I ate every last slice. To begin the meal with, I had the soup of the day, which today was Mushroom Creme. It was perfect in texture and flavor and came to me at just the right temperature with a hint of a background " heat" of another kind. The basil cream sauce on top, topped it off nicely. I wish that I had photographed it... Then came the entree and it was perfect in every way. The pork chop was perfectly cooked and very tender, and was well dressed with the house made applesauce. The green beans had a hint of garlic and were nice and firm. The fried potato wedges were prepared just the way anyone would want them; golden brown and crispy on the outside and piping hot. Every bite was a pleasure! When I thought that I was finished, I was informed that my early bird special also came with dessert and coffee or tea. What a nice surprise! Usually, when people ask if I want milk and sugar for my coffee I tell them that I won't know until I taste it. I like my coffee black but not all coffees are good enough to drink black. After the meal that I had just had however, I was confident to just go ahead and order my coffee black... and it was very good. I chose the cheesecake as a dessert and everything about it was great, the texture the taste, the fresh whipped cream and the raspberry sauce! It all sounds expensive, right? It was $22! To start, our server was lovely and attentive. Soup or a salad with your entree is always welcome. We did not know it was a BYOB, but we were able to order a New Jersey wine, which worked out for us. We split a shrimp app, which was delicious. My bride had halibut over couscous cooked correctly and served simply. Food: Both my husband and I ordered steak dinners along with the shrimp appetizer. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and thought the food was very good. Service: The service could definitely use some help. The servers were running around crazy and kept apologizing to each table for the delay. However 3.5-4 hours for a dinner is insane.
