I was immediately greeted by the owner very very friendly and helpful. I ordered a four piece dinner. It came with a nice roll and mashed potatoes. All were excellent. Unfortunately it was too much for me to finish so I had to take the rest with me. Bummer! It was great later as well. I will be back if I get in the area again. read more

Been going here for many years but the prices have gone up so much and the last 3 visits in a row I have been disappointed. First off they used to pack the double fry orders and that was great since they are not cheap at over 8 bucks for basically a single potato so it was nice to get a few extra (maybe 10 fries). That said they are the best tasting I ever had except now the double orders are more like single orders. I thought maybe it was a one time thing but it's not as the last 3-5 times I have been there the order has been noticeably smaller. The owner is always very nice to me but the lady at the counter with the pigtail dark hair about 55 years old is as nasty as they come. She never smiles or says thank you. Never says hello and on the phone when I place my order its always "Thats it"? Like I am some lowlife that didn't order enough for her liking? Gonna go back to the location on Fischer Blvd from now on. That woman is the reason for me leaving in addition to the very High prices and now smaller portions. I'm going to have to be honest: yes, the fried chicken can be delicious, but getting from Chicken Town on a near-weekly basis albeit only short-term shows the inconsistency of the kitchen. We've had two experiences with undercooked chicken that we had to continue cooking in the oven, as well as a fried exterior that tasted either like old oil or oddly overcooked past its smoke point. This was on three visits out of ten-plus. There's not much to the interior either, as this is suited more so to takeout. The ribs can be tasty, and the crinkle-cut fries are memorable and addictive. To be frank the fries alone pushed this review to four stars despite the inconsistency. The fried chicken is very good as well, and the entire meal is suited to a fried cheat meal with the entire family's preference of sides and appetizers. It isn't the best I've had, the chicken pieces aren't all as large as expected and the breading is crispy even if it isn't the most flavorful dredge. There are also no creative hot sauces or pairings. The owner does let us substitute some sides in the value meals, which is convenient. It can still be really, really good fried chicken with satisfying sides. For a local spot I can look forward to a Chicken Town meal, even if I have to advise that the chicken should be double checked. There are better chicken chains and values to be had, but I still wouldn't hesitate to try Chicken Town again in my own town. read more

Haven't been able to find a good fried chicken place (KFC definitely doesn't qualify). I've lived locally for 25 years and have never thought to try chicken town - it came up in my google search tonight. Ordered a bucket of 16 pieces, half spicy Cajun half regular. Also got a small order (1/2 pound) of baked beans and Mac and cheese. 20 minutes for pickup on a Friday night. Lemme tell you - I truly couldn't stop eating!! This was the BEST fried chicken I've ever had. The flavor between the regular and Cajun was outstanding, the meat literally fell off the bone. OMG I am so upset that I only just discovered this place. Typically on our drive home from a shore weekend we stop somewhere along the GSP to eat dinner. This would've probably been a consistent summer long visit if we'd tried it sooner. Food here is delicious and fresh. Not only do they have chicken prepared in 5 different ways (think fried, rotisserie, nuggets, fingers, grilled and wings) they also offered ribs, a variety of seafood and legit all of the fried appetizers your fat little heart desires. Food - Ordered - Buffalo Wings- not spicy at all. It was quite mild. BBQ Wings - it was actually tangy, and not bbq. (weird, but still good.) Fried Cauliflower - The batter of the cauliflower was great, overall tasty. Curly Fries - Regular curly fries. Flounder Fish Sandwich - Expected more fish, but hey it was still good. Everything was great for lunch, nothing was overcooked or undercooked. It was perfect. Portions I think could be a little bigger for the price, but that's not going to effect the food. Pretty good chicken! Fries are crinkle cut which are the best in my opinion! The menu is huge so you have tons of options. I tried to take a pic of it, but getting it all in on e photo was going to be a task. The food is made to order so there's a little bit of a wait, but that's good because it means fresh food! I kept my order simple....one leg, one thigh, and an order of fries. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside....just like fried chicken should be. They also have great soft drink choices as well. Their location isn't Ideal for trying to do direct someone to the place. But once you're there, you're good. If you can find your way into the plaza, I'd say it's worth a stop. read more

This is the first time I visited here after moving to Brick recently. This will also be the last time. As other reviewers mentioned there was no social distancing and employees were not wearing masks when dealing with customers or otherwise. They told me on the phone delivery was not an option only pickup, and they def weren't offering curb side. I should have just walked out. If they can't follow a mask rule for their customers safety who knows what other guidelines they aren't following in the kitchen. read more

Each one was absolutely delicious! Nice size portions, also. The coleslaw was mistakenly not given to us and a gentleman kindly delivered it to our home, which is not around the corner. My family and I have been to Chicken Town many times since COVID hit. The food is all deep fried comfort food - tasty but very greasy. Service has always been very rude both on the phone and in person. Today, however it reached a new low. When I went in to pick up my food, the guy with the jean shorts - who I guess is the owner - was completely unmasked when preparing the food and when dealing with me and other customers at the counter. Like we are not in the middle of a pandemic. Isn't that against the law for food prep now in NJ? Then, as I am paying for the meal, the guy says "You should know that TRUMP is the greatest President in the history of the country". I told him I do not agree and that he shouldn't bring up politics in a business setting. He then said in a very rude and condescending manner, "Well you aren't very smart and need to get educated". Needless to say, that is the last time I will ever go back and I will spread the word throughout my neighborhood, family and friends. read more

Ok I know, it's hard to take a place called "Chicken Town" very seriously:) This tiny fried chicken joint is tucked away in a strip mall off of Brick Blvd. I've been going there to eat since I was in high school and must say, they have the best buffalo wings. I'm a huge fan of wings and have had plenty in many different places. However, Chicken Town adds more vinegar to the hot sauce and it really gives a zip to the flavor. You can smell the wings from a mile away, but they sure are tasty. Other than wings, Chicken Town has a pretty large menu to choose from. You can eat in or take out. Service is great. Fried chicken - that delicious food that's guaranteed to clog arteries, make you gain 20 pounds, and leave your fingers (and everything around you) wonderfully greasy. Whenever I have a craving for this horrible for you, yet oh-so-delicious food, I head on down to Chicken Town. This chicken joint has some of the best fried chicken in the area, in my opinion. Maybe it's the fact that they use pressure fryers, or that they sprinkle some kind of fairy dust into the breading, but the stuff that comes out of the kitchen here is downright tasty. Even with the 5-6 minute drive back home, my food was always piping hot, with wonderfully crispy breading and nice and moist meat - exactly what you want when it comes to fried chicken. Even the rotisserie was pretty good here, although I'm kind of spoiled by the absurdly delicious Peruvian rotisserie down the street at Super Pollo. The side dishes here are pretty well done, with the corn fritters being a personal favorite of mine, since the best thing to have with fried chicken is MORE fried food. Service has always been pretty friendly, and the owner is a really friendly guy who will remember you if you come in often enough. The only downside is that the parking lot is an utter pain to get into. Usually this requires you to make a U-turn in the apartment complex lot down the street, since it's on an absurdly busy corner with ~7 lanes of VERY angry traffic and a red light camera. But hey, if you manage to survive the turn into the parking lot, you'll be rewarded with some pretty great fried chicken. read more

Also there were two people dining inside the place without masks which if I'm correct indoor dining hasn't been allowed yet. I was a bit turned off when I went in to pick up my food and three of the four counter workers were not wearing any face masks and the fourth worker only put her mask on when it came time to pay for my order. It was also one of a few take out restaurants who made me sign the charge receipt with a counter pen that was probably touched by dozens of customers. All I could think of was GERMS. As soon as I signed the receipt, I took out a pocket bottle of Purrell and cleaned my hands. The cashier gave me a dirty look. We won't be ordering from Chicken Town anytime soon. read more

Fantastic fried chicken! Sitting around a fire pit in our backyard, my husband, our friend, and I needed something "easy to eat" for dinner. Fried chicken seemed to be a good answer and I'm so glad I found Chicken Town on Yelp. The delivery was quick, the chicken was piping hot and served in an aluminum tray. It was crispy on the outside and really moist and tasty on the inside. We thought 16 pieces for 3 adults and 1 child would have been plenty, but we should have gotten a 20 piece at least. The mac and cheese was ok - a little mushy for my taste. I can't wait to try the other dishes at Chicken Town. This will be a new go-to for us. read more
