Always good, they have great sandwiches for lunch, and we love their "light" options.

I think Forked River Manhattan bagel is the best. They do not brown your egg so you cannot eat it like the one on Fischer Blvd. Toms River

Service has always been good and the place is clean something lacking in many other local bagel joints.

The inside is very small, so consider that if you want to come during a weekend breakfast, but…read moretheir offerings are crazy long, I wonder how they do it. There are a ton of interesting and unique coffee drinks, sweet breakfasts, and omelets. The meat lovers (ham, bacon, and sausage) was a bit salty, but a side of fruit balanced that out, and the sourdough bread was light and fresh. The tres leches pancakes was overindulgent but very sweet. The whip cream was too much as the pancakes themselves were enough of a treat. Some of the pancakes came topped with ice cream which is a mood, but I'm trying not to go too crazy. The service was great, and there are a lot of interesting menu items I'd like to try again. Coffee was kind of weak. Plenty of parking and clean bathrooms. It was quiet on a weekday, but I think there's really something for everyone on the menu and look forward to coming back.

The young waiter seemed helpful and knew the menu. That's the very end of the good part. Since prices were high side here, we expected good food made to our preference. After all, it was only simple breakfast. My wife's eggs ordered sunny side up and soft came over done and hard. My "sizzling steak" with eggs ordered scrambled Very soft came with the eggs not even warm and overcooked stiff. The 'Sizzling Steak' was anything but. It came in a sizzle type plate, but was gray and looked and tasted like badly boiled cheap meat. I say boiled because the plate had zero sizzle and it was drowning in lukewarm brown water. It looked and tasted awful. When I finally got the waiter's attention, he got what I assumed the kitchen manager. She was polite and seemed eager to right this. She had a second order made for me... That was worse than the first. Same overdone hard but barely warm eggs. This time they even tasted funny. Not good. The steak.... Another gray slab of very bad meat. This was The Most expensive breakfasts on their menu. As I write this, I'm still sitting with a sick stomach from the little I forced down of it. In small consolation, I asked for my breakfast cost be removed, as I wasn't going to let them try 3 times a charm. This was a first visit. But I honestly can't see attempting a second as we both feel stomach sick after.

Waking up to a fresh snowfall is always a gift--made even better after an exceptional New Year's Eve at The Waterfront NJ Restaurant in Lacey, NJ. This year marked our 35th consecutive celebration with our best friends the Fays, a tradition that grows richer every time we gather. The ballroom was beautifully decorated for the holidays, and the band "Slap Happy" delivered an outstanding performance. With the drinks flowing, at one point, we even found ourselves at the microphone, adding our own spirited contribution to the night. While our table was a bit close to the stage--and the volume certainly matched the energy--the music, dancing, and drinks created a vibrant, festive atmosphere. Angolina, our server, was outstanding, helping to elevate the evening from the moment we arrived. Warm, attentive, and effortlessly efficient, she kept the celebration flowing. We began with our first round of drinks, and I made sure to savor my final dirty martini of the year. After three rounds and plenty of laughter, Angolina returned to take our dinner selections. Jeanne Marshall Schrader chose the jumbo shrimp stuffed with crab, finished with a luxurious lobster‑sherry cream, and served with rice and vegetables -- $35. I opted for the Zuppa D'Pesce: a beautifully prepared combination of jumbo shrimp, sea scallops, crab meat, little neck clams, and mussels in a spicy marinara over linguini -- $42. Carolyn Fay and Bob both selected the GF filet -- an 8oz center-cut topped with compound butter, accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes and a side of demi‑glaze -- $42. It was a flawless New Year's Eve--excellent food, exceptional service, lively entertainment, and the best company to welcome another year together.

You don't want to miss the funky and eclectic offerings and "if you're here you're family" atmosphere. Our first visit was for a late breakfast at about 11am on a rainy Sunday of a holiday weekend, so it wasn't surprising that the was a short wait. When the hostess said 20-30 minutes someone else in line immediately responded "it's worth the wait" and I agree. I had the The Waffle Slamwich "alternating layers of bacon, sausage, pork roll, egg & cheese between Belgian waffles with bourbon butter maple syrup." I ordered has browns because I saw an order come out and they looked really good. They were, but we're also unnecessary. The Slamwich was more than enough and I'm a big eater. My wife had French toast and a side of bacon. The portion was also generous but she ate it all som it must have been good. I forgot to ask because I was so busy enjoying the many flavors of my meal. The sweetness of the waffle and syrup perfectly offsetting the salty breakfast meats. Coffe was good, too, and obviously fresh. And my cup was 'magically' refilled every time I set it down. We're planning a trip back for lunch...but not today...still full. Guy says "if it's funky I'll find it" but do yourself a favor and find Lacy Diner first, before word gets around, or you might not get a seat.

From the moment we walked in, the counter staff greeted us warmly and let us pick our seats. The diner itself is charming, decorated with a fun I Love Lucy theme that gives it a cozy, nostalgic vibe. The menu has all the diner classics you'd hope for, plus some creative twists (fried PB&J, anyone?). They also offer a rotating specials menu, which keeps things exciting. I ordered the coffee flight, funnel cake French toast, home fries, and bacon. The coffee flight alone was worth the trip--delicious flavors, beautifully presented, and only $8.99. The funnel cake French toast was light, airy, and cooked to perfection--it really felt like I was eating a funnel cake for breakfast. My boyfriend went for the country fried chicken with gravy and biscuits, and it was equally delicious. Throughout our visit, the staff checked in often and made us feel like family. We noticed they seemed to know every regular by name, and there were plenty coming in during the short time we were there--a sure sign of a beloved local spot. We'll absolutely be back, and we highly recommend The Lacey Diner to anyone in the area looking for a great breakfast experience!
