What we didn't expect is clear lake auto service performed repairs without our authorization. We had no opportunity to approve cost which is our first complaint. Second complaint is once we arrived to pay we were advised a completely different price which was more than twice the amount provided over the phone. In the end our car was fixed BUT not without poor communication from clear lake auto service.

Multiple independent shops have confirmed that the catalytic converter currently installed is the same one I originally paid to have replaced. Despite all the money I've spent, I'm back to square one with the same unresolved problem. When I returned to your shop again to request accountability, I was turned away and told you would no longer help me. That's not how professional, ethical businesses operate. Customers deserve work that lasts -- or at the very least, honesty and support when problems arise due to substandard service. At this point, I feel taken advantage of. I trusted your expertise and paid in good faith. I am now considering further action, including filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau, state consumer protection agencies, and leaving public reviews to warn others. Before going to this place I went to meineke at belfort and kirkwood and they told me that my flex pipe had some holes and they don't come by themselves and need to replace the whole thing (with catalytic convertor) costs $800. They also charged me $50 diagnostic fee. I stopped at new star and was told that they don't charge for diagnostics and told me that they can put in just the flex pipe by cutting it out and then weld it for $170. They did that in an hour and now my car has no noise. Awesome Job!! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get work done on their mufflers.

They haven't overpromised and underdelivered like so many auto service centers tend to do. They're affordable and discuss what the job entails before the work begins. In my case, I had completed an expensive restoration on the car in January 2016. While in Oklahoma City on business, I became distracted while driving, jumped a curb and collided with a telephone pole. The insurance company declared the Jag a total loss, however, I had put way too much money into the car just to salvage it, so I ate my loss and committed to repairing and restoring the car all over again with the settlement money. After towing the car to Houston from OKC, we had to remove and replace the front subframe, suspension, ball joints, tie rods etc. A big mess. Then, after we were ready to get the car running and back on the road, we discovered metal shavings in the oil pan. The engine was severely damaged from the collision. We found a good used Jag replacement motor and are in the middle of installing it. Throughout the entire ordeal, David and Benny have been very professional and hardworking. So far so good. As of right now, I strongly recommend them.

They had the truck for 13 days and drained all the coolant out of the vehicle, broke the temperature gauge, and broke the air conditioning. We tried them because we had broken down in the Kemah area and saw their company. We were able to (barely) get it back on the island where we found someone who actually knew what they were doing. These guys may can change your oil with minimal damage to your vehicle, but I wouldn't chance even that.
