Jo's Donuts is a true Institute. This is a must go to location on your way to Mount Hood. The donuts are delicious the extra food items like there croissant egg and sausage sandwich are great right before you hit the mountain. I wanted to love this place and make it a regular stop on my way to Bend......but it was not to be. Lady at counter was nice, coffee was good. Donut selection was very limited. No chocolate cake donuts (she said they haven't made the for a while). The cake donuts I got were very dry as if they were in the fryer too long, or were yesterday's donuts. This was a little after 5am, so surely should have tasted fresh. It is as if person making donuts does not enjoy the job and it shows through the quality. read more

This is a solid donut shop, but not amazing. They had some hits and misses. The apple sauce donut melts in your mouth. The cronut was something different, a fried and glazed croissant. Very good. The twist was tasty. The Fritter was below average, flat and over glazed. The donuts were more sugary then average which was a downside. The donuts weren't very aesthetically pleasing, the frosting application was a bit haphazard and the raised donuts were all pretty flat. We stopped here on the way to Mt. Hood. I think these are the best donuts I've ever eaten. Everything we had was delicious. We lucked out since they had a special pumpkin rum donut during our visit. Love Joe's! They have the best selection of fresh donuts, no other donut shop compares! This is our son's favorite place to get treats. We're lucky enough to live close by. We usually go during the week though, the weekend can be pretty busy with people passing through. read more

Excellent donuts! Terrible service! We drive a great distance just to get Joe's Donuts. We love them! We love sharing them at work. BUT...we are made to feel like dirt whenever we ask for a box for four to six donuts or two boxes for 13 donuts. We don't like our donuts to be stacked on top of each other so that the frosting melts and makes a sticky, dirty mess. We want to be proud to show off what great donuts Joe's Donuts makes. But this restaurant wants to be thrifty and cram the donuts into too small of containers. It ruins the look of their donuts, especially if they aren't eaten before they melt together. If a patron asks for a certain type of container so that the donuts won't stick together, the shop should honor that wish without complaining or giving the patrons dirty looks. read more
