This is the best place in Michigan that serves top quality Mediterranean food. It's always fresh and I can tell the people that runs the place has great hospitality because the serving size portions are always accommodating! The very best I order from them all the time on DoorDash

This place Rocks, the food is all freshly made. The Joes burger is the best burger i have had this year. We stumbled on this place after a Vodka tasting event. Looking for late night spot we were not sure, but what a find. If your not sure just ask Joe about anything on his menu, he wont Steer you wrong!

Honestly I don't know why it took my this long to try this bowl ... needed something filling but not too heavy. Got the chicken cream chop bowl and I am very content. I love that are a variety of different sauces, toppings, and spreads to choose from. I maxed out my choices and the bowl is filled! All the ingredients are fresh and flavorful. I will be ordering from here again.

Small spot with huge flavors. Their chicken kabob lunch was perfect. The rice is absolutely delicious here & their tahini is spot on. I really enjoyed the food and the kind service made it even better. The place is small, only 2 tables inside with a small patio outside. Definitely worth a try!!

Quick hot food! Everything was so good and In the budget for some tastebud dances! Definitely will go back if I'm around and everything else is closed. It was extra good also because everything was closed. There definitely needs to be more seating that's one thing I wasn't liking. The woman up front was very nice and answered all questions swiftly. THANK YOU FOR THE FOOD!

Got into Detroit late evening and was pretty hungry. None of the airport food was appealing so we decided to grab some late night eats. Didn't want anything too heavy but wanted something good, fresh and more on the healthier side. Joe's fit the bill as they were open til 1am on a Sunday and was about 10-15 outside of downtown ! It's pretty much a takeout spot but they have a few tables for dining in and some seating outside. We were famished so we ordered a veggie combo w/ salad - comes with domas, hummus, baba ganoush and tabbouleh, rice and falafel and a chicken cream chop bowl - spiced brown rice, beets, onions, hummus, tabbouleh, garlic sauce, pickled radish and baba ganoush, a side of lentil soup and some flat bread. Lastly I ordered a watermelon juice to wash it down. The guy at the counter swore by the chicken cream chop which I had never had before. It could be described as a lightly fried chicken. To sum it up all I could say was WOW ! Everything was super fresh and so good. Maybe it's because we were starving I don't know but will go back and see if the dream was real . Service was great and the vibes were super cool !

    Bread for a bun

Order a farmhouse burger and receive a burger and white bread instead of a bun. Update: they responded and said there was a mix up and they don't offer a Farmhouse burger on white bread . They do offer a farmhouse burger but it's not supposed to be on bread. That was my problem, I wanted it on a bun. I work 2 blocks from this place and have been there several times. More often than not my order is wrong.

I love this place. The food is so good, I could eat here every week. Perfect for a quick meal, I always get the bowl. Very generous portions. Friendly service as well. Will continue to enjoy eating here!

Fast service and quality food! This place is located in downtown royal oak, proximate to occ and a tap house near by also. There are parallel parking spots in front (3-4 spots) but there is a little parking lot right next to it that I was able to park in and hop in and out of. I did almost trip going into the restaurant as there's a step I didn't see so be careful. Aside from that I really enjoy their "create your own bowl" special. I did order online and just a heads up there is a special discount for local orders I think for a first visit if you create an account! I got the chicken shawarma bowl and it was really delicious with the seasoned rice (0.50 up charge) and spicy hummus. The bowl is hearty, filling and has tasty and quality ingredients. It is a great portion size for the money! The only ingredient I did not like is the beets in my bowl as they were not sliced they were really big and I'm not sure if they were from a can? Either way it was a very tasty bowl that I'd come back for!

Parking isn't great since there's only 4 spots out front and they are all shared parking as well for the Credit union, Thai and the hookah lounge, but isn't Joe still part of the Hookah? I decided to give this place a try, since my aim is to try out all eateries in the downtown area. Isn't that everyone's goal in life, here on yelp? ;) Parked across the street by Oakland community college. It's close enough. I ordered two chicken bowls. I ordered the chicken breast or grilled chicken with rice and the other one as a salad. There's a guy in the back and he was grilling up my chicken breast. There was another guy cutting up all the chicken breast. The woman working the front assembled my salad and rice dish. They have a salad bar that you can pick any toppings for your bowl. I did two of the build your own bowls. They were running low on the spinach and the Romaine lettuce looked a little brown. She grabbed more spinach and fresh Romaine from the back. Their cabbage was looking a little worn as well as some of the other vegetables. The veggies (both cabbages, cucumber, carrots) probably need to be checked more often for freshness. Many looked rather weathered. I don't feel very warm welcome from the front counter woman and cashier. She wasn't rude, but not super friendly or warm. Did politely ask if I could take pictures before starting to click away. She said it was OK. I put the spicy hummus on the rice bowl as well as the salad. I added the Fattoush dressing to my salad, but it would've been nice to have some creamy type sauce or dressing for the rice, besides ranch dressing. Maybe a chipotle mayo or Sriracha mayo, something. To give 10% discounts for Oakland community college students. I think it would be great if they gave the same discount for Royal Oak residence, to keep us coming. ;) I get that they fill the bowl completely, but it makes it very difficult to eat, on the go. You can only eat one thing at a time, as there's no room to mix the ball at all. I think it would be better to put in a bigger container and fill it about 2/3 of the way with the same content. It's reasonably priced here for their build your own bowls. build your own bowls were good overall. I like the chicken breast best. The seasoning is flavorful and it's moist. The spicy hummus has some good kick to it too.

They were just opening up, but they let us sit at the bar while they got the restaurant ready for dinner. We all got drinks at the bar. I got The Final Rose drink. its's very pretty and not too strong. After sipping on the drinks, the host brought us to our table. Chris was our server that day. He was super friendly and answered all of our questions regarding the menu. Here's what we got: - Michigan lamb ragu (his) - Lobster and shrimp pad thai (mine) - Crab and shrimp cakes (share) - clam chowder (share) His family got some of the same items, but I can't remember the different items they got. The overall consensus though was that everything tasted fantastic. Coming from the Bay Area, I have high expectations when it comes to Asian food, so I was pleasantly surprised by how great the pad thai tasted. The clam chowder was creamy and delightful. The crab cakes were the perfect size and not teeny tiny. The lamb ragu was very well done also and my husband is a big fan of lamb so he really enjoyed his meal. Since we were there early, it was quiet which was nice. Would definitely return in the future the next time I am in Michigan.

A hostess who takes your money and gives you a bracelet, automated beer, and you use your phone to order from the kitchen, they text you and you go get your food. I wondered many times how they could serve alcohol and not monitor how much people were drinking? So I asked. The host is in the front said at the end of 32 oz is your bracelet will not work and you need to come up and see me to reset it. The people working here were so friendly and personable with literally everyone that walked in the door. The service was top notch. It is also the most adorable place giving vibes of Lamy's food counter at Henry Ford Museum. I loved all of the options on the menu and it was so hard just picking a couple items to try. We had chicken tacos. They were so good and so fresh, I loved the sauce on top. Honestly, I am not sure if it was cheese or a sour cream type mixture, but it was creamy and flavorful. I also had the torta which was absolutely incredible. It had the same chicken as the taco. The chicken was slow cooked or stewed and shredded and was so flavorful, like a homecooked chef's kiss. The bread was fresh. I loved the sauce poured over it, making it a dipped and soaked sandwich. The carrots and cilantro, sliced radishes and sliced fresh jalapenos added a level of crunch, freshness and deeper flavor profile. I would want to get this every time. We also tried their delicious "curly" fries, which were like julienned shoestring fries fired fresh. It seemed like every dish was made fresh and right in front of you. So worth it, plus the prices are great. I would love to try their fried chicken plate, their breakfast sandwiches, and their other desserts. We talked to the man behind the counter who seemed like maybe a manager. He gave us their famous chocolate chip cookie to try. It was fresh baked and delicious. I would love to take home more of those. It looked so simple but was better than many bakeries specializing in cookies alone. He also gave us an second order of fries to take home with my leftovers, just top notch kindness and service. This man told us that OWL owns other restaurants and we would probably like them. I am open to trying more of their group but I do want to return here. This is one of those diners you would find being profiled for best kept secret or gourmet home cooked foods under the guise of fast food.
