Joes Service Center is exceptional. During a Va state inspection the technical advised me that my 2013 Toyota 4 Runner with 25,000 miles on it needed new front and back brakes WITHIN THE NEXT YEAR. About a month later and after receiving a $99.00 brake pads special from Koons Toyota I decided to take it there. Upon checking in I was immediately hit with the BS up charge game. The advisor without even seeing the truck told me I would need new front and back rotors in addition to the pads. I told them I'm responding to the $99.00 coupon they sent me and asked how they could recommend services without ever looking at the vehicle first.. I told them to first look at the car and then let me know if it was necessary on a 25,000 mile vehicle that still had factory brakes and rotors. They looked at it and after 3hrs came back and of course, I needed everything the advisor initially told me I would need even before looking at it. The price they quoted me was $1,200.00. After lots of choice words I declined and took my vehicle back.. I believe Koons is a total scam.. After a previous very positive experience with Joe's I decided to go there even though it was over an hour away.. Booking the appointment was easy and I was able to get in within 2 days. When I arrived the lady at the front desk was super nice, welcoming and professional.. I explained what the state inspection center told me about needing new brakes and didn't mention the rotors. I was waiting to see if they also recommended new rotors.. After they looked at the vehicle they called me and said that I needed new front and back brakes, but it wasn't urgent and I could wait about a year.. They didn't mention the rotors.. I went ahead and had the work done and within 2 hours everything was complete. Grand total price was $257.00. I was floored after the BS Koons tried to pull.. I literally saved around $1,000. The work was exceptional and the brakes work perfectly.. This was my second experience with them and they were phenomenal.. read more

Dropped our truck off for state inspection. We were informed it failed due to rusted front springs and they could do the work but wouldn't be able to get to for one week. I mean 4.5 stars on yelp kind of tells you what you need to know. Not sure what to say, other than they are far more worried about the customer than generating work. Probably because they always seem to be extremely busy (There is a reason!) so they will never be in a position to need to generate unnecessary work. It does mean you sometimes have to wait for an appointment. I've literally never called them and been able to bring it in day-of. Understandable. Great place. read more

Chose to take my vehicle to Joe's Service Center based on recommendation of a friend. They performed full timing belt service including installation of new belts, idler pulleys, water pump, and cam seals ($1000). Nearly year later one of the $7 cam oil deals failed (cheap parts), this caused another timing belt repair job ($750). Another several months goes by, then failed water pump (cheap parts), this was premature. Parts supposed to be under some sort of warranty. The fix, remove and replace cheap water pump (another timing belt job). All along I was given false promise on when the car would be ready (the had it for nearly 12 days). They then stripped the mounting bolt which holds on the idle tensioner pulley. I would not recommend taking your car to Joe's Service Center. They cannot provide realistic schedule of service and use cheap parts. read more

Joe's is the best and I say that without hesitation as I've had to take my Volvo to another highly recommended place in town as Joe's is always so busy. Joe diagnosed my problem without getting out of his recliner after I had taken my car into another place three times before they figured out what was wrong. My Volvo will pass 250,000 miles because of Joe's and Robbie!! You have to be warned though, I got scolded by Joe when I ran the car with a low oil level. Yesterday I took my car to Joe's Service Center for an oil change and a diagnostic test to try to figure out why my engine light and cruise control lights were on. I arrived at the shop a few minutes before 9:00 am. After over five hours in the shop, the receptionist told me I needed to take my car to my dealer for the additional diagnostic testing needed because the mechanic at Joe's was "not interested" in working on it. I asked her what she meant that he was "not interested" in working on it and she told me that it would take a long time to do the additional diagnostic testing. I told her that a better way to express this would be to say that the additional diagnostic testing needed was beyond the mechanic's expertise, or that he would not be able to work on it that day, but could work on it another day. To tell me that the mechanic was not interested in working on my vehicle was extremely unprofessional. She told me I could speak to the owner about my concerns, which I asked to do, but she later told me that he was unavailable to speak to me. On my way out the door, I saw the mechanic who had worked on my vehicle, so I tried to get clarification directly from him about the receptionist's comment. The mechanic looked away, was evasive and didn't respond. I'm very disappointed in Joe's Service Center and, because of yesterday's experience, I won't be returning there. Another concern about this auto shop is that they leave your keys in the ignition after they work on your car which is an open invitation to auto thieves. This place is great. I went to a few shops before finding this one and the search is over. I went to a big chain to ask them to weld a new exhaust hanger on so my exhaust would stop swaying, they quoted me like 2-3,000 for a whole new exhaust. They said they wouldn't be able to get a welder in that space to weld a new hanger. I laughed at them, left and gave up on the idea of repairing my exhaust. I went for an inspection, this time at Joe's. When I went to pick up my car they explained to me very politely that the inspection was going to cost an extra $15 because they had to weld my exhaust hanger back on to pass inspection. I was so happy I found them. Ethics are so hard to come by these days. And I can see here that they have all 5-star reviews as of today so I can see they treat all their customers this well. read more

I've always had the best luck with Joe's. Previous vehicle was a 2004 Chevy Tahoe, Check engine light would come on and go off. I had 3 or 4 places check and everyone kept saying that "it might be" the O2 sensors and having 4 of them in the truck it would be better to replace all 4. At over $100 a piece x's 4. That's an expensive guessing option. I took it to Joe's and they found that the value cover gasket was actually leaking, replaced value cover and the problem was resolved for about 150.00. 2nd experience with Joe's, Same vehicle. Steering column was clucking around. Dealership says grease leaking and they did a temporary fix that lasted not that long. Took it to Joe's, Steering column was actually cracked. Joe's replaced it and only charged me around $250.00. I would tell anyone I know to go there, they are reliable, friendly and always provided good service. They will always call you before they do any work and give you an estimate. This is nice especially for women looking for a good auto shop that won't rip you off. read more

Joe's is located in Warrenton off the main drag behind the Pizza Hut. I was leaking anti-freeze and doing the fill and drive thing until one night I drove too much. It was leaking out as much as I was pouring in. Sunday - Towed car to Joes and left key Monday Morning - Called to give info and contact info Monday Afternoon - Received return call with VERY affordable estimate Thursday Afternoon - Car was ready My water pump was about to fall apart and had messed up the timing belt in the process. Also fixed a bad oil leak. Parts and Labor were less than $1000. Wow. Great work and GREAT prices. read more

I wish I hadn't gone by the reviewers here. Perhaps Joe's was a reputable service center at one time. We spent $700 there in January -- they charged us to tinker and replace some things - we took the car in because it wouldn't start half the time. On the way home, I noticed white smoke coming out of the tailpipe. When we got it home, it would no longer start. We had it towed to a dealer and they diagnosed a blown head gasket. They said there's no way a reputable service shop should have missed that, firstly because the catalytic converter code would have shown it to them. There was coolant mixing with our oil and fouling up the spark plugs. We had paid Joe's to replace them. A service center didn't notice the mix of oil and coolant? They also left our car unlocked when we went to pick it up. Avoid them at all costs. We are out $700. That's a lot of money for us! read more

Dare I say an honest mechanic?? Warrenton Toyota gave me a quote of $800 - $900 to replace brake pads, retool rotors and replace brake fluid. Joe's charged me $240 to replace the brake pads...no retooling required (I am VERY gentle with my brakes). Saved me $660. I have brought all my cars in over the past few months. Very honest shop that delivers on their promises. Needed rotors and brakes on our Jeep and their estimate came in well below the dealer's. That really isn't a surprise, dealer's typically charge above average fees. The job was done correctly and on-time. I've tried many service centers in the area, including the popular one in Gainesville (a different review for a different day - those guys are dishonest and unethical). As an older woman who knows very little about cars, I was lucky to learn about Joe's many years ago. Being able to depend on someone knowledgeable who looks out for his customers is a blessing. When I recently had to sell my car, Joe took care of everything from getting it ready to negotiating on my behalf. We are so lucky in Fauquier County to have someone who is both knowledgeable and dependable. I can't say enough how happy I am with Joe's! We had a rusted tailpipe where it connects to the catalytic converter. Sounded like a race car. Instead of replacing the tail pipe section at $500, they welded it for $108. Who even does that anymore? Joe's does! read more

I took my car in to get the engine coolant changed, trying to follow the recommended service schedule. They told me the coolant was very clean and did not need to be changed. There is a word that comes to mind when I think of this shop: terrible. I took my car in on a Tuesday, then after waiting a week, given that theyre closed on weekends, I figured I'd check in and see if my car was ready. Not only was it not ready, they hadn't bothered to call to see if I would liked it WORKED ON. So, my car was sitting in their lot for a week, with nothing being done.
