Was looking forward to this restaurant based on the reviews. However, it was meh. Service started off horrible when the bartender/waitress in the patio area completely ignored us. In a space that's the size of my living room and only 1 other party there she said she didn't see us...really?!?!? Our drinks were delicious!!! The food again was meh. I ordered the Margherita pizza, which lacked flavor & was sent back. My son had the house salad with grilled shrimp & he barely finished it. My niece ordered the chicken finger blt & she loved it. Called to ask if seating was available. Woman on the phone let me know it's about a 20-25 minute wait. This happened at 5:45...I showed up at 6:05. Greeted by assuming the owner (who thinks it's appropriate to stand at the gate chain smoking cigarettes and blowing it into waiting customers faces) proceeds to tell me that I can be seated in 30 minutes. When asking him politely why I was told 20 min prior I could be seated. He began giving me an attitude, smirking and giving me condescending little responses "too bad" "don't know what to tell ya" "don't have tables" but let two guys in who showed up in back of us...lol. Then when getting in the car to leave proceeded to patronize me for being from another state. You sir...are a loser. But I shouldn't expect more from some hick bar located at the cross section of ignorance and bumpkin. (Like I said..this owners response says it all lol. Rude, and condescending. Yeah..had to explain 5 times because basic math couldn't be done when telling someone there's a 20 minute wait and it becomes an hour. But instead of taking responsibility it's better to be a jerk. I don't need an explanation of the governors guidelines. You need an explanation of customer service. There's a way to speak to people, take ownership for your mistakes. My family are repeat customers here. My dad loves the wood fired brick oven pizza. The lobster bisque soup and seafood here is great. You can't go wrong with anything you get on the menu. Every time we come, we are never disappointed. There's a huge menu with an even larger drink menu. They have new beer on tap all the time. Additionally, there are new specials daily. A local gem! We tried to go to trackside at blue mountain to enjoy the beautiful foliage on this perfect fall day but they had an hour and a half wait... so thanks to Yelp we ended up at Joey B's. We loved this local spot! We went for an early dinner (3 Pm) on a Saturday and it was already packed. Service was outstanding. The food and drinks were also amazing! They make homemade bloody Mary's and so many drink choices, you will def leave a little tipsy from wanting to try more than one! I'm so glad we called Joey B's today and ordered take out after our day of snow tubing at Blue Mountain. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The kids loved the chicken tenders, fries, and mozzarella sticks. The adults went crazy for the burgers. I believe one even said this was the best burger she's ever had. Incredible food!! Let's start with the place itself. Great vibe. Now to the bar tender. Finally!!!! A bartender that knows how to make great drinks. My specialty drink was amazing and they have a great selection of off the wall drinks. So tired of going places where bartenders do not know how to make drinks. We stopped here on our way to a local resort for the long weekend of camping. This place is great. There were so many beverages to choose from. They had Beers, different flavored sangrias and even growler fills to go. The food was above what you would find at most bars - but considering all there specialty drinks - I wasn't to surprised. Food was good and service was fast and friendly. We will definitely stop back the next time we're in town. We would have stopped after our long weekend but they were closed for summer vacation. First time here! Would recommend to EVERYONE! The moment we got to the door a gentleman, who turned out to be the owner, greeted us. We didn't have reservations but he was able to accommodate us. After a long hike in the poconos my best friend and I wanted somewhere to relax and order a quick bite. What a cute little bar! We were seated immediately which was a relief as we were EXHAUSTED. We started with an appetizer of a HUGE quesadilla that was packed with flavor. (We almost ordered a second because it was so good). It was more difficult for me to order as this place wasn't exactly vegetarian friendly but i settled for some fries that I dipped in wing sauce. Let me start by saying that we didn't actually dine here, so this review does not pertain to the food. During normal times, I'm sure we would have had a great experience and the food looked delicious. That being said, if you are only dining outdoors during covid or care about adherence to covid protocols, you may want to consider visiting when the pandemic is over. We had a reservation for dinner after tubing at Blue Mountain. When we got ther, we observed the owner not masked at all and several waitresses with masks on their chins. Additionally, the indoor dining was significantly more than 50% capacity as required in PA with tables not socially distanced. Finally, their patio is completely enclosed with walls and a roof, so all of their dining space is indoors. On their Facebook page they write "our patio seating is reservation only while our indoor seating is available first come first serve." I would think a normal person would interpret this to mean that the patio seating is not also indoor seating. But it is. I understand it's PA in the winter but other restaurants on the east coast have gotten creative with their outdoor dining. I just wish we were aware of the situation before coming out here. Edited to add: in response to the owner's comment (in which he acknowledges that the patio is enclosed), it's absolutely fine if a restaurant is only offering indoor dining; we just wish we knew in advance that the patio was fully enclosed and contained many tables not socially distanced, so that we could have made alternate arrangements. During this time, it's important for guests to be aware of what a business's set up is to make an informed decision. As to his comment that we need to quarantine from NJ in order to go tubing in PA, he doesn't know how long we had been in PA or our quarantine status. It is precisely because businesses don't know where their guests come from or their level of risk that makes it even more important for them to adhere to strict protocols in order to protect both their employees and guests. read more

We were seated after waiting ~15 minutes, which is normal. I was amazed to see they had Cigar City Jai Alai on their beer list since it was one of my favorite beers. One waitress read the specials to us whereas another took our order. We wanted to hear the specials again and our current waitress did not know them so they had to go back to the other waitress to have her read them off. We ordered the seafood bisque as appetizer which was delicious and for our meals, we ordered the shrimp taco and the seared ahi tuna salad. The shrimp taco was average and there was really nothing exciting about it. In our opinion, the taco was overpriced for what we received. The ahi tuna salad was cooked perfectly but under seasoned. Overall we felt the meal was average for what we ended up paying. I would recommend Joey B's if you are looking for an extensive beer list, their amazing soup and great pizza. 3-stars though due to value recognition for other items on the menu. Old Review: Food is average and staff are extremely friendly. The location has a nice "old school vibe" and the outside sitting area is charming. Their soup is excellent however, the food is average and way over priced. There are better local options such as West End Saloon or One Ten Tavern. Came with a friend of mine for dinner. She called in front of me to ask if any tables were available, the lady on the phone said there was a 20-25 minute wait. She gave her name and put herself on the list. 20 minutes later we showed up with a guy standing chain smoking cigarettes at the front entrance. My friend simply came up to him and asked if the table is ready and gave her name. Mask off during the pandemic and not even making eye contact while taking a drag of his disgusting cigarette blowing it in everyone's face says it would be another 35 minutes. When she began trying to understand why she was given wrong info he began getting nasty and rude because he couldn't answer to the mistake that was made. It was uncomfortable just to witness. What a great dining experience at Joey B's! We were traveling up the turnpike and we were so hungry! So a quick Yelp search and Joey B's appeared. We exited the highway and had a nice little drive through some beautiful farm land, it wasn't far, and then the town of Palmerton came into view. I said, "Wow, this seems like a cool little town." Joey B's was right there on the Main Street and it was cute from the outside. We parked and went in, it was even more awesome on the inside! It has great ambiance! The whole place felt warm and welcoming, the hostess came right up and asked where we would like to sit and I said, "Wherever you would want to put us, we have never been here." She smiled and said, "Well, we have this area, but we also have the patio." It is January, so I might have looked confused by an outdoor dining area! She laughed and said not to worry, it is enclosed this time of year and said she thought we might like it out there, so she led us through the really nice perfectly decorated bar, around a little hall way, a quick step outside and then back through another door and Wow! There we were in this big beautiful wood walled room with a fireplace and a big bar! She said it is more open air in the summer but they keep it cozy in the winter! It was absolutely perfect! So now, for the most important part of a dining review, the food and drinks! There was a big menu and a specials page on the table. It was all drinks! Anything and more that your little brain could concoct, seasonal fun valentine drinks, classic drinks, original drinks, spins on original drinks! The waitress was so nice and walked us through the menu so that we could make our selections. I had the drink fleet where I got to pick 4 little mini versions of drinks and they came in little sugar rimmed jars complete with little edible decorations! Each one was adorable and absolutely delicious! I selected them so that I would have tastes that were like a before dinner, during dinner and dessert type drink and they carried me through my meal fabulously! My son had a tricked out old fashioned and he thought it was superb as well. So once we got into the food menu, OH MY! Where to begin! We couldn't decide and ended up ordering more than we needed, but still wanting to try more! We had pot stickers and crab and cheese fries, Korean tacos, nachos with a homemade cheese dip and a white pizza. There were only two of us! The food came out quickly, it was hot and absolutely delicious. All the waitresses and waiters made eye contact with you and made sure we were doing great. We had a wonderful main waitress, but others brought out stuff to us too, I watched them all working together so nicely. It's like, if they saw the food was ready, they got it to you! It was really nice! Everyone smiling, not feeling rushed! It was just a really great place to eat. I told at least 5 people about it on my way home. I said if someone asked me to build the perfect little restaurant in my mind, this would be it! Thank you to all the people who work at Joey B's for making this experience so great! I haven't been to Joey B's in a good 6-7 months, but a buddy of mine needed a ride to pick up his new car today and takes me there for lunch... This was probably the first time i've had a midweek lunch here... in the past it was always on a weekend in the late afternoon or evening... So i was pleasantly surprised to see the place was packed on a thursday afternoon... We sat out in their back patio and it was packed as well... So if i go to Joey B's, i only get one thing; A burger and fries!!! You don't need to go fancy here, their California Cheeseburger is a 1/2 pound of "incredibly delicious"!!! There's just no way to talk about this burger without sounding like you own the place... It's that good!!! The burger is huge, and i get mine med rare... they know what that means and they're not afraid to cook it that way!!! So they got the temp just right - nice light pink juicy center... 2 really nice pieces of fresh curly green lettuce, a big ol' slice of "ripe" tomato, and a beautiful slice of "red" onion... Anyplace that serves a burger with anything but red onion, just doesn't care enough!!! But here's the kicker that makes or breaks the burger - THE BUN!!! This bun is incredible!!! I'm thinking they must bake these themselves... they're fresh, over-sized, brushed with butter and with just the right "tooth"!!! It might sound trite, but any burger fanatic will tell you "the bun is as important as the patty"!!! These burgers are, in my humble opinion, "the best you'll ever eat!!!" And while the burgers are great, there's only one thing better at Joey B's; the service!!! These folks understand hospitality... I love this place ! It is absolutely amazing. Honestly, this is one of your best decisions when choosing a restaurant to grab a drink or have a plate of yummy fries and/or a burger. My favorite thing to get here is the pulled pork sandwich on a brioche bun and a bunch of straight-cut fries. If you want coleslaw, that's your decision but they do offer it with the meal! For a place that requires reservation. You think the food quality would be out of the park. We came in a group of 9 and ordered loaded fries. Thinking it would cover half the table. Nope single portion for 12$. I ordered Chicken parm dinner plate. Hardly any fettuccine noodles. But the same person in my group order the same thing and she got way more then I did. Portions are not equal. The tomato sauce was crap. Garden salad sucked. No words. No Ketchup or salt and pepper on tables. My friends burger was way over cooked. Pricing way over for the food. Recommend shut the dinning room down and make this place a dive bar. Probably make more money. read more
