Bug found dead inside a wedge of the lettuce- not from outside like the waitress implied.

Found a big bug in the salad and told the waitress and she walked away, didn't ask if we wanted it replaced or anything. Got two of the same steak was supposed to be medium they were both well done. Also found a hair in the burger. The manager comped the salad after we asked them to, but the waitress was super unapologetic. Very disappointed and it really ruined the experience.

Came here for the third time now, as this is turning into our Pocono-go-to whenever we're in the area. The food is good, standard American cuisine. The staff is always very friendly. In the summer you can sit outside by the lake which is a very nice view and relaxed ambiance. This time I ate the ribs which were amazing, fell right off the bone.

We love the patio seating and this is our favorite restaurant in the lake harmony big boulder area. The waitstaff is friendly and so far we have been here on a weekday for lunch and a weekend for dinner. On the Monday, there's not much of a rush so the ducks were walking around like they owned the place. We had a duck who kept visiting our table and decided to poop right next to us so I had to eat next to poo. It didn't smell thank god. Saturday evening we came by at 645pm and luckily most of the empty seats were for parties of 2 so we did not have to wait. There was live music and maybe because there were more people, the ducks didn't walk around. They stayed by the sand area or flew into the lake. The one annoying thing were the bees that kept freaking me out. I was recently stung by a wasp so the bees were scaring me. I will bring one of those bug fans to hopefully keep them away from me. The clam chowder, wings and Caesar salad was good. Our main dishes were the burger and the steak fajitas +salmon. We will continue to order the same dishes every time we come. We love the lake view and the ducks. My toddler enjoys the sand and stomping her feet in the lake. That's her reward for eating her meal and she loves it here!

Vacation town dinner spot. Should be used to accommodating large parties, right? Most parties in the dining room were 8+ people, including my table of 14. The do not allow you to split checks per person (fair), so we split ours the max of four ways in groups. Our server did not tell us this at the beginning, and also did not track what each seat ordered, assuming we would all pay on one check. She had to go through at the end and mark who all ordered what. I totally understand how flustering this is as a server, but this place is used to large parties and could have anticipated that a group of 14 girls in their 20s would not want to all pay together. The food was ok. Vacation spot pricing. Docking a couple stars because the food is not necessarily up to par with the pricing. I had the band bang shrimp, which was very good, but I wish they had tossed the shrimp in the sauce instead of the dipping on the side situation. For my entree, I ordered the tuscan shrimp orzo. It was good, I think a different pasta shape would have carried the flavor better. I'd recommend them going with an angel hair and lemonier sauce. I never do this, but had to sprinkle a little salt from the table onto my dish. I'm not really a burger person, but that's what the majority orders here. The view is great and we got to watch a beautiful sunset. Service from the bar was quite slow. My buddy ordered a dirty martini and they brought out a fairly clear drink with a lemon garnish. Is this a northeastern martini recipe I'm not privy to? I believe this is one of the only options in town. It's not a bad one. I would be very curious to explore around here during ski season!

Stopped in for drinks and small bites. My orange cocktail was good but was supposed to be made with blood oranges and I just got regular orange garnish. My husband's drink of Black Russian was very good. We both got one of the specials. I got eggplant rolotini, which was good and plentiful with 4 pieces. I just wish the garlic bread that I got on the side would've been warm. My husband got the stuffed artichoke and while it looked great, and nice sized, it should have been cooked longer so it would've been softer. The service was good. Wait staff was very pleasant. The place was fine- the bar, where we sat, was kept clean and clear of dirty dishes (we had a disgusting issue with this twice a year ago and hadn't been back bc of this). As it was Friday night, a musician was just coming in as we left. That's always a nice touch there. I think we'll go again.

Lovely lake views and friendly service. The food is pretty good too and decent cocktails. Lovely atmosphere. Plenty of parking in their lot. We had tacos as appetizers and they were very good. I wish I had ordered more for my entree. They still had their Oktoberfest menu items as options when we were there so I ordered a sausages sampler to have their bratwurst and knockwurst. They were good, not great. The mashed potatoes were very good. My boyfriend had the Jaegerschnitzel and it was tasty. Thin and crispy on the outside, just how you want it. Next time I will order more off the regular menu.

Supposed to be two berry mojitos, too bad they forgot the liquor.

Our recent visit to Boulder View Tavern left a lot to be desired -- especially when it came to service. Right from the start, things were off. Three people in our party ordered the *exact same drink*, yet somehow all received different ones. When we brought it to the staff's attention, we were told they couldn't take the incorrect drinks off the bill but could offer replacements. Not only is that a frustrating policy, but to make matters worse, we were still charged for the original, incorrect drinks AND charged for the new drinks that were also inadequate. The service overall was consistently poor. Our waitress was barely present, and it felt like we were constantly searching for someone -- anyone -- to help us. Even trying to track down a manager was an ordeal. As for the food, it was below average and definitely not worth the price point. The menu reads like you're in for a decent meal, but what shows up is uninspired at best. You get very measly portions for the price you pay. We were hoping for a nice night out, but between the drink debacle, inattentive service, and subpar food, we left disappointed. There are too many great places around to spend your money -- unfortunately, Boulder View Tavern just isn't one of them.

Had a great time at the bar! The host and bartender were super friendly. The piña colada shrimp kabobs were tasty, and the chicken wrap (without bacon) with honey mustard hit the spot, though the house chips were a bit overdone. The back patio opens to another outdoor bar for warmer months, and we even watched someone launch a pontoon boat--pretty cool! The lake view is stunning and not something you see every day. Worth a stop if you're in the area!

Boulder View Tavern is an excellent bar offering Great Lake front views. This is a great spot especially in the summer to grab dinner and a drink as they have a large patio. The food was great as well the Brussels topped with bacon and balsamic glaze, the pretzel with pub cheese, French onion soup, and the short rib grilled cheese. The food was really delicious and a great value too. Service was friendly, great, and really accommodating to us a big recommend from me.

    Hawaii cheeseburger, very salty!

This is our third visit, our conclusion. Small menu, salty dishes, not worth the cost if you know how to cook a simple dish. Nice place to try, but not a regular spot for us. Time to move on.

We drove by on Friday night and saw the parking was full, so we decided to give it another chance on Saturday. As we walked into the restaurant, we met the hostess who started to take us through the bar area to a high-top table. We told her we did not want that table. She then pointed to a booth in the bar area. We asked her if we could sit in the dining room area. It was like it was a bother to her. She took us to a table and seated us. She gave us the menus and went back to get utensils. When she came back with the utensils, she slammed them on table. At that point, we should have left. Every time the hostess went by our table she rolled her eyes. We ordered 3 different burgers and a chicken sandwich. The Pub Master burger came out correct. The chicken sandwich was ok, but the chicken itself did not have any flavor. We requested the Cowboy burger well done and the special Ja' Be Kidding burger (severed with 6 huge strips of fresh jalapeños) medium well. When these burgers arrived, they were almost rare inside. We notified our waitress, Robyn. She took them back. When she brought them back, they still were not cooked correctly and the fries were cold. We ate around the rare parts. When we were done, we showed Robyn the rare part of one of the burgers. She took the basket then came back with the check. We thought she was going to tell the manager, but no one came to our table. We will not be back.

This establishment was formerly Capone's , a name it went by for a long time. Before that, It's history as a spirits pub goes back many years . Right when you go inside the bar, will tell you you're in an old old establishment. You don't see this type of bar-back construction anymore. And it's original. Fast fwd to today. It is very revitalized with new owners recently taking over the reins of the place late in 2020. This non- smoking establishment has a good sized back room with tables as well as tables and a high top in the main bar area. They can seat 10-20 if you let them know ahead of time. The crowd pressure is both local flavor and transient, especially in the outdoor recreation warm months. The fact it sits right on the D&L Trail is also a nice point. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Most of the time they go out of their way to make sure you're served and conversed with, if your into that. The menu has grown and evolved also. The food has great flavor and is a decent sized plate. The cooking here seems exceptional for a local tavern. There are specials running almost every night. Taco Tuesdays and other special food offerings are also to be had. The Wings are big and meaty; the sauce is generous and the best I've had in the area. And that exceptional meal on Sundays that runs as a special "Grandma's SUNDAY Dinners". The Burgers are as big as trampolines and tasty. The customer area is a welcoming atmosphere with some games and great music machine. Karaoke or Triva Mondays, Live music most every Saturday night now. A Great outdoor area with tables and umbrellas sitting right there off the trail in Main Street Whitehaven in the warm months.
