    CBI Burger

Ambiance (4/5): We visited during February after skiing nearby at the Blue Mt Resort. Sadly we were not able to experience their outdoor backyard. There's a small parking lot to the side of the inn. The inside feels like a cozy cabin with one side being a full service bar and the other side for seated dining. The tables were nested close to each other. By Saturday around 1pm, guests started piling in. We sat right next to the warmth of the fireplace. There's TVs all around the establishment. They have multiple events featured throughout the month, such as trivia on Thursdays at 6:30pm. Service (5/5): The wait staff were extremely friendly and smiley. She was hustling on the floor and did a great job at it! While it took some time to get our orders placed, The food came out fair Drinks: $11 mule flight! The full list of mules all sounded too tasty and each one that I ordered was indeed delicious. I would have definitely ordered another one if I didn't have to return to the slopes! Food: Buddha Bowl ($20) (3/5) - My dish was more like a platter, of the deconstructed salad. I requested a side of steak ($7) to my meal. The steak was tough to bite into and not worth the extra cost. The bowl was absolutely filling but there wasn't much taste to it with the exception of the tahini (?) dressing. I enjoyed the fried cauliflower but everything else was a letdown. My friends dining thought their dishes were extremely bland including the CBI Burger and chicken parm sub.

I wanted to take this time to Thank John, Carly, and the rest of the staff (and even the delightful older fella with his own bar stool) for being so awesome and accommodating with our large Biker crew! We came from over 2 hrs away and were able to set up our table outside and enjoy a gorgeous day with the band and great food! It was a little tricky with 26 customers, but John and his staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed! The food was delicious and everyone was happy with their meals and service! Thank you again John and Carly! We appreciated everyone pitching in and helping us have a wonderful lunch!

    Big bang burger

The food has always been good when I've stopped at CBI.This time, not so much . The Big Bang burger I ordered was smothered with a chipotle mayo that ran off the sandwich when I picked it up. After my first bite I could see it was not cooked to medium as ordered. In fact for being ground beef I wouldn't even call it medium rare This Burger was barely cooked. The waitress was friendly and apologetic for the burger. We sat at the outdoor seating which was spacious and set up well for various weather conditions.

Great food, great service and great music. Had an awesome time with a big group of friends tonight!

I learned later that this restaurant has been around since the early to mid 1900's. Plenty of parking in a large open lot. The place is very large and has one of the longest bars I've seen. The wood is very dark and you can see the chefs cooking over the hearth. They don't take reservations and won't see you until your entire party is there. One of the things I liked for our party of 10 was they had no problems with seating as they also have many large round tables. For mixed drinks, they make them pretty big and potent. For my martini, they sent back an extra glass. They also had great bleu cheese stuffed olives. We ordered onion rings (8 large to an order) and fried zucchini. The onion ring I had was pretty good. I didn't have the fried zucchini but heard it was also pretty good. Other than the light fare items, all dinners come with their salad bar which has both iceberg lettuce and Caesar Salad along with many fixings as well as cheeses and bread. I had the Baked Seafood Platter which came with scallops, shrimp, Clam Casino (without the shell), Maryland crab cake and a small lobster tail for $49.99. My wife had the baked chicken breast which she said was quite dry. The dining area is quite large and reminds me of the restaurants at a casino. Some in our group said it reminds them of Medieval Times due to the dark wood vibe. While I thought it was a bit pricey, I would still come back and try their signature steaks or prime rib.

The salad bar is classic: Caesar salad, iceberg, blue cheese, bacon bits, etc. Meet family here for a fancy night out, and it was a blast. Service was good. Portions are generous, so be prepared for leftovers. We had steak and eggs for breakfast the next day. Big steaks, big baked potatoes, unlimited salad. Come hungry. Good to know: It is a splurge. Also, they won't stay you until the entire party is there. We waited at the bar for everyone to arrive, where one cocktail was more than enough for me. You definitely get your money's worth, and you should not drive afterward. (I did not.)

This establishment was formerly Capone's , a name it went by for a long time. Before that, It's history as a spirits pub goes back many years . Right when you go inside the bar, will tell you you're in an old old establishment. You don't see this type of bar-back construction anymore. And it's original. Fast fwd to today. It is very revitalized with new owners recently taking over the reins of the place late in 2020. This non- smoking establishment has a good sized back room with tables as well as tables and a high top in the main bar area. They can seat 10-20 if you let them know ahead of time. The crowd pressure is both local flavor and transient, especially in the outdoor recreation warm months. The fact it sits right on the D&L Trail is also a nice point. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Most of the time they go out of their way to make sure you're served and conversed with, if your into that. The menu has grown and evolved also. The food has great flavor and is a decent sized plate. The cooking here seems exceptional for a local tavern. There are specials running almost every night. Taco Tuesdays and other special food offerings are also to be had. The Wings are big and meaty; the sauce is generous and the best I've had in the area. And that exceptional meal on Sundays that runs as a special "Grandma's SUNDAY Dinners". The Burgers are as big as trampolines and tasty. The customer area is a welcoming atmosphere with some games and great music machine. Karaoke or Triva Mondays, Live music most every Saturday night now. A Great outdoor area with tables and umbrellas sitting right there off the trail in Main Street Whitehaven in the warm months. If your sightseeing this is great lunch stop, if you're on the River or trekking the D&L Trail around White Haven it's right here. This is definitely worth the stop! If you're into the "hometown Americana" experiences in your travels this one rates a stop
