We recently had a really nice dinner with family and friends at Nick's Lake House Restaurant. One thing that we really enjoyed was the large amount of seating inside and even outdoors as well. The outside of the restaurant overlooks a really gorgeous lake so you have the opportunity to sit out on a deck, which is very, very nice. Depending on the time of year you can have just a really nice calming meal. On the inside the atmosphere is cool. There are a lot of TVs to watch sports and the menu's pretty good too. There was quite a selection, everything from burgers and sandwiches to salads and even pizza. In general everyone enjoyed and it was pretty packed when we got there on a Thursday evening. That's always nice to see that a lot of people are going there to sit down and enjoy meals together during the week so we really enjoyed it and you may as well too. read more

Very spacious inside and out. Most people had chosen the outside patio with the amazing lake view, but our inside seating also had a fantastic view of the lake. Our server was great, personable. We all enjoyed our food, well made, nothing too different... except those corn spare ribs my friend got. She seemed to enjoy them. We were so excited to have dinner at Nick's House, but unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. When we checked in, we were told the wait would be 40 minutes. We didn't receive our table until over an hour later. After waiting 45 minutes, my sister politely asked for an update. The hostess simply replied, "Your table is next. We'll let you know," in a very rude and dismissive tone. There was no courtesy or apology. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt because they were busy. Once seated, our server, Olivia, was wonderful. She was friendly, attentive, and took our order promptly. We thought things were finally turning around. Unfortunately, when our food arrived, it was delivered by the same hostess who had been rude to us earlier. My brother-in-law had ordered a chicken dish, while my husband had ordered a vegetarian meal. She placed the chicken dish in front of my husband. When he politely told her that it wasn't his order, instead of simply switching the plates--as most servers would after confirming who ordered what--she responded, "Switch it yourself," in a rude and disrespectful tone. She walked away without correcting the mistake or offering any apology. We brought both incidents to Olivia's attention and asked to speak with the manager. When the manager arrived, we explained everything that had happened. Instead of addressing our concerns, the manager initially defended the employee, saying she "probably didn't mean it like that." It wasn't until we expressed how upset we were and shared that the interaction made us feel singled out and discriminated against that the manager's attitude changed and she began apologizing. In all our years of dining out, we have never been treated with such disrespect. While we cannot know the employee's intentions, the way we were spoken to and treated made us feel unwelcome, and it left us questioning whether we were being treated differently because we were a minority. Olivia was the only bright spot in our evening, and we appreciate her professionalism. Sadly, one excellent server could not make up for the unacceptable behavior we experienced from the hostess and the way our concerns were initially handled by management. We will not be returning and cannot recommend Nick's House based on our experience. read more

If you're coming here to drink at the bar, this is the place for you! If you're coming here to eat, I would pass. The service was good, but the food was just okay. We enjoyed dining at Nicks's lake house this month. The patio on a nice day is amazing. They have plenty of parking.

Solid all around Pocono restaurant and bar. There are two main dining areas and a substantial sized wrap around bar. There is also a small gift shop that sells souvenirs and hoodies and stuff. They have a mostly bar food menu with a few entrees and assorted things. Nice appetizer selection as well. One of the more notable elements of Nick's is the view of the lake upon which it is situated. Our family enjoyed the appetizers, burgers and sandwiches we ordered and the kids thought the pizza was very good. Standout menu items are the brown sugar cured bacon burger with burger sauce as well as the boneless buffalo wings which were crispy and tender and moist inside. A couple things... First, our server, Madison, was OUTSTANDING!!! She was very attentive to our needs and even treated our grandkids (ages 7 and 5) with respect. I had NO issues leaving her a HEFTY tip -- she deserved it!!! As far as the food, everything was PERFECT. Each of the appetizers (Pumpkin Ale Dip, Chicken Wings, Pork Belly Bites) were awesome!!! The entrees (Reuben's Ribs, Fish and Chips, Nick's Classic Pizza) were HUGE and well worth the price. Probably one of the Top 10 restaurants I've ever been to...EVER!!! And, I'm 70 years old!!! Not to be dramatic but this food is HORRIBLE. Easily the worst meal I've ever eaten. Bumped from one to two stars only because our waitress was a sweetheart to our large party. Ok so appetizers... can't mess up nachos right? Wrong. Soggy lettuce, a minuscule amount of cheese, or was it sour cream? I really don't know. Microwaved pretzels from probably Costco. Microwaved mozzarella sticks. Now the entrees... absolutely horrible. I went with the Buddha bowl with steak. The soba noodles were DRYYYY dry dry and stuck together. The steak: four tiny pieces of obviously frozen steak that was rare in the middle. The best entree on the table was probably the burger, which, of course, was also pretty bad. The pasta dish literally tasted like watered down tomato sauce with a scoop of sugar. I truly can't think of a good thing to say other than our waitress. A local had told us that the three big bars/restaurants on the lake all had the same owner. The places are PACKED because there is really and truly no other places to eat dinner and have a drink. With that success, I would hope the owners wouldn't cheap out on frozen EVERYTHING and serve it to us like dog food. Not to mention that all of the patrons were fanning themselves for some slight relief in a stinky, hot restaurant with no air conditioning. Should I find myself in Lake Harmony again, I'll be sure to plan accordingly to make all 3 meals at the house. read more

She went above and beyond to make sure the evening was special. We requested lake view seating and it was such an amazing view. Nick's Lake House is exactly what you'd expect from a lakeside restaurant big, open layout with that classic summer feel and beautiful outdoor seating by the water. The setting alone is a big win. We asked for a table for five and were told about 20 minute wait, despite about 15 open tables. Unfortunately, like many spots these days, they're short staffed. Being one of the only real food options in the area, it definitely gets crowded, and that can affect food quality. Once seated, our server was fantastic super friendly and on top of everything. We started with drinks and apps boneless wings and warm pretzel sticks. My son ordered the kids' chicken nuggets, which were the exact same as the boneless wings but cost $8 more just because of the sauce on the boneless wings. 18$ for chicken nuggets with sauce felt excessive. For the main course, I had the hot chicken platter half a fried chicken, cooked to perfection. Crispy outside, juicy inside, and the sauce was excellent. Definitely the highlight of the meal. The pizza was decent, not amazing, but solid for PA. Nick's is a great place to enjoy the view and grab a bite, but go in knowing it can be a bit pricey and the kitchen gets stretched when it's packed. We had the whipped ricotta, New England clam chowder, fish and chips, and the mushroom Swiss burger. Almost every dish was underwhelming and underseasoned. Whipped ricotta came with stale bread that seemed to have been left out for some time. We were basically tearing off bites. The dip itself was actually good though. Fish and chips had no seasoning at all. No salt, no vinegar, old bay, or any spice. For some reason the fries had more seasoning on it The only good dish we had was the small cup of clam chowder we got. Perfectly thick, filled with clam and potatoes and nice oyster crackers. The service was also mediocre at best. It took forever to flag down our waiter which we found weird because we a saw staff arguing with the hostess about not getting enough tables. Some good things I can say is that thier portions are huge. The restaurant is also located on the lake so you can have beautiful views while you dine. So if you're just looking for a place to fill your belly and have a beer by the water, then sure this place might fit the the bill. This is going to be a mixed review, and that's mostly because our waitress was incredible. She dealt with a table of 7 on a whim and was really on the ball with refills and making sure our needs were met. Now, let's get to the rest of the review - the food was mediocre. It wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't anything to write home about, and also, the kitchen messed up a few of our orders ( they also were very quick to fix the issues). I want to reiterate that our waitress was great, the rest of the staff was a train wreck. They had one waitress loudly exclaiming about needing her break in the middle of the main dining room. The person working at the front desk decided to use the table next to ours to lysol the menus while we were eating. At the same time, another waiter decided to sit at that same table and cut limes and oranges..I'm sure people love the taste of lysol in their drinks.... After we paid our bill, we were rushed from our table by the busser ( there was no line and we were waiting for our friend to get back from the restroom). We had pretty bad service here. We were here for almost 2 hours due to the delays in getting our food. The appetizer, the tater tots, were pretty good! For the price, I did expect more food in this serving. My pasta was very dry. We also didn't get all the food we ordered, but we were tired of waiting on the food at this point only to realize it wasn't all there. But of course, we were charged for the items we never got. I wouldn't come back here. It was just too long of a wait and our waitress barely came to our table. This is probably one of the worst meals I've ever had. -The mozzerella sticks were still frozen inside -the sauce on the hot wings was kind of like catalina dressing that they threw some tabasco into -one salmon was dry -someone else's salmon was undercooked -the pasta was completely devoid of any flavor -the apple bourbon burger was so sickly sweet; if you are picky about how you like your burger/steak cooked they only have two options "pink or no pink" - when we asked if we could have medium rare - they just barked back "pink or no pink!!!" -the cheesesteak wasn't terrible but it was very rich and you can feel the heart attack coming on after a few bites -the best thing we tasted was a "thai" dish with shrimp, that was tasty, but it certainly wasn't thai We also had a couple of drinks and while on paper they sounded really creative and tasty, most of them were overpowered by that cheap vodka smell. I know this is out in the middle of the poconos and we had no high expectations but woof. We didn't have a chance to try any of the other restaurants on the same road, so not sure if this is a Nick's issue or a regional issue. Nick's Lakehouse Restaurant is located in Lake Harmony as one of the many restaurants in the area. It is known for having water views. The place gets packed especially during the summer and there are no reservations so expect a wait. However you are given a buzzer which lights up and buzzes when your table is available. The servers were great and the food arrived promptly. Sadly the food was just ok. We ordered a bowl and ribs. The bowl had rice that was uncooked and the ribs were just ok (with the fries underwhelming). However our appetizers of queso dip were good. We would like to visit again and try some other menu options. We enjoyed the vibes and the fact they had live music. No other party waiting was even handed a pager. This place is not customer focused the two hostesses were rude when I handed them back their pager after 45 minutes of waiting with no update offered. They said not one word. Just looked at me. Arrogant. If that is their outward treatment upon arrival to a customer, I can just imagine their staff's service level. Don't waste your time with Nick's. Had a wait despite having a lot of space available. I think it is because they are short handed. Most of the servers there did not look happy. Bartender was a bright spot - had a drink while waiting for the table. The drinks at the bar were good and inexpensive Rest of the food is ok. Standard bar food - lots of fried food. Hard to screw it up. The fish and chips I think were from frozen as it was dried up and just seemed, not so fresh. The area in general lacks some higher end dining. So from the choices, it is a pretty good one. The ribs were actually pretty good. Just pay the extra bit because one in our party got a half rack and it was more like 1/3'rd of a rack compared to the full rack. Pizza was meh - very doughy. Burger was fairly decent too. Crab cake sandwich was not good. I think seafood around here was really lacking. So, probably good to avoid. Surprisingly, the clam chowder was actually very good. A little on the thick side but very tasty. One small thing would be that it was a little on the sweet side - think they added sugar which I think it could do without. read more

Had a great burger and some top-tier fries that made me question every fast food decision I've ever made. I sat at the bar and my bartender's name was Asia--super friendly and on top of things the whole time. The place has that small-town charm where everyone seems to know each other, and you feel weirdly at home even if it's your first time there.
