It's in a bit of an unusual location, but they do have a cute patio set-up. It's nice and private too so you don't really hear the street traffic because it's tucked inside this commercial complex. They have typical North American fare, so nothing out of the ordinary there. One recommendation I have is the warm Italian donuts! Must get for dessert! read more

Friendly staffs and clean place. Pretty spacious and nice outdoor sittings. Parking lot outside and walkable to the bus stop and skytrain station. At the corner on top of the plaza and not hard to find. Quite a few drinks and food options on the menu. A bit pricier than Cactus Club but it's much better. A more natural and relaxing environment. Not as toxic and the vibe is nice. Drinks and food are better too. Steak is a bit on the dry side but that's the only complain. The Prawn + Lobster Ravioli is so much better than Cactus's, since it's not over powering and too oily. It's just right and I had an amazing night with my friends and family. Not a place I'd go every week but it is definitely a place for special occasion or once in awhile to treat myself. I do recommend this place! read more

I came here on a Saturday night with a friend and even though the restaurant was super busy and we didn't have a reservation, we were able to get a table right away which was great! This location has a super cozy feel to it and almost seems like I'm sitting in a upscale cabin - I really liked it! Our waitress was really attentive and friendly - always arriving at the perfect time to ask for our orders and clear our plates. Everything about this location was wonderful, with the only downfall being the menu itself. Even though I'm a vegetarian I always manage to find some delicious options no matter where I go, especially if it's a chain restaurant. However, I found the options here to be very limited and underwhelming. I ended up ordering the starter-sized house salad which was fine, but nothing extraordinary. Another small downside was that there's very limited parking and I had to circle around a couple of times before snagging a spot. Overall, the service & ambiance at this spot was amazing! I absolutely love the menu offerings here- The deep fried mashed potatoes are genius! I'm seriously addicted to the Katsu chicken salad and the tandoori chicken flatbread as well! The ambiance of the restaurant is pretty typical of restaurants of this kind, the service is good and there's something on the menu for anyone at the table. The reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because I have ordered DoorDash from this location probably 30 times and have been disappointed 28.The portions are always smaller than in restaurant, which is fine because I get that they're trying to recoup the money they pay to the app, but I don't understand the lack of fries. They're such a simple, low-cost side dish but we've often only received a small handful. All in all, you can't go wrong eating here... unless you were counting on lots of fries. Lol ;) read more

So there's nothing really wrong with Joeys chain just that it's hard to distinguish it from Earls, Cactus club etc. Same feeling, same kind of food. All upscale average and very little memorable. Service was professional a bit slow maybe they also have staffing issues. Hummus was very nice and they offered free bread refills as long as you still had dip left. Go sparingly on the dip and get more hot slightly crusty delicious pita! Burgers looked the same as absolutely everywhere on incorrect brioche buns( according to most professional chefs). Steaks were deemed um.. ok. Lettuce wraps were really good with crispy shrimp and enough lettuce but they charged extra for: More spicy sauce which was just not enough for the serving size. Boo. Dessert and the bill took a long time. Cheesecake was delicious but very small potion for the price - same with the cocktails . I'd go again if I had to but would not choose it if it were up to me. read more

I have been to this location a number of times with co-workers as it is the closest restaurant in the vicinity of our offices that caters to a variety of different tastes. My favourite dish is definitely the Buddha Bowl with Salmon. It is perfect for my higher protein needs without being to saucy or over glazed. Most recently I had the BBQ Salmon Rice bowl and while it was good, it wasn't fabulous. Another item on the menu I enjoy are the lettuce wraps. These are great for sharing which we normally do. The service is usually impeccable. I don't know that I have ever had bad service at the restaurant. The staff have always been kind, courteous and acknowledging when we enter which is of the utmost importance to me, aside from tasty food. Bad service can ruin a delicious meal. I will definitely be back and I am getting that Buddha Bowl again. read more

I used to LOVE Joey Coquitlam, but after last night I don't think I will be going back. Very long and somewhat graphic story short, the older man at the table behind us got severely ill. He started throwing up and was brought a bucket while they waited for the fire department and an ambulance to arrive. After he was taken out by the first responders, we called our waitress over and asked what was wrong -- which is normal, in my opinion, when seeing someone become violently ill at a restaurant. Our waitress seemed uneasy about this question and informed us that she "wasn't sure because he didn't have any allergies." We asked if it was the food because we felt uncomfortable continuing to eat and were told she "didn't know... no one knows" and maybe just "not to order what he got" even though "someone else ate it earlier that night and was fine." I'm a vegetarian, so I was less worried. My meat eating friends, however, adapted their orders and requested the kitchen confirm that it wasn't a food born illness or salmonella in the meat. Honestly, I was very uncomfortable because no one at the restaurant (e.g., waitress, manager) even bothered to address this before we asked, even though our table was directly next to the incident. AND, even more concerning, once we asked about it our concerns still weren't properly addressed. Here's the kicker -- they left the bucket of vomit on the table next to us for about two hours before removing it. At one point our waitress went and moved the bucket slightly further back on the table, but she wasn't wearing gloves and came over immediately after to try to refill our waters (without washing her hands). This has to be a health hazard and more generally just isn't good practice. I doubt we will ever go back to this Joeys. read more

Wow, I hadn't been here for a good 15 years, and I am pleasantly surprised with how good it is now! My wife and I hit the patio for an early evening light dinner. A few applies to share. Everything was perfect. The servers were friendly, thoughtful, and professional. The patio vibe was great. The drinks, shockingly good. My wife wants to start making spicy passion fruit margaritas at home now. And then, the food... all great upscale casual: Lettuce wraps -- spicy, salty, sweet, umami, freshness... all there. Tandoori flatbread -- not SUPER authentic tandoori, but more like a BBQ chicken flatbread with a hint of Indian flair. It was great though. The dough was just fantastic... chewy and crunchy and fluffy and crusty. The gyoza were also unorthodox, but wonderful. A doll up of hot mustard on each one? Oh, it worked so well. We're returning. You want bad service come here. My husbands birthday was a disaster here, placed in a spot with a big party next to us and beside the kitchen so it was loud, and warm! Food arrived and asparagus not cooked but soaked in oil, potatoes cold, cake took longer to arrive than the food- when I asked the waitress to forget the cake and bring the bill she said wait and brought a pathetic looking cake for my husband. I'm so disappointed in this location this was me giving them a second chance as the first time was terrible as well!!!!! My 1st-ever 4 stars, or even 4.25 stars for a chain franchise. One, they get enough business as it is, plus it's always nice to give action to the other restaurants. Ordered the Beach salad, anything with candied pecans, I'm a sucker for. Grilled chicken also nice and juicy. And seriously, even half of this portion this tasting good, would be more than pleasurable. But really, it's the atmosphere and action candy here. Next time really have to tell the boys on the team to get away from the Boston Pizzas & other pubs lol. Love the round bar on the right side when you enter. And gorgeous washrooms too. Generally the food is delicious. Every time I try a new steak house I order steak medium to make sure it is edible. This time, the Joey restaurant, concern even more for me, they made the steak well done. It is grey throughout the whole steak,the rub outside is nice, I like the season, the inside is dry and tough. The tomato and mashed potato is delicious, asparagus is under seasoned. If there's no such low level mistake I would make it a four star. read more

The service this afternoon wasn't the best. We arrived at approximately 3:45pm. Well after the lunch rush and yet our food took FOREVER to arrive. The wings we ordered arrive barely warm. The waitress was very apologetic and rectified the situation immediately. Our main course came our and was piping hot! I got the ribs and they were DAMN good. Honestly the best I've had in Vancouver in a very very long time. In the end, they didn't charge us for the wings, which was a very nice gesture. The next time I came here was during the pandemic. We sat outside on a decent patio. It was windy and cold and all the female servers were in skirts and dresses and were noticeably cold and shaky with goosebumps on their arms. I wondered if they weren't allowed to wear pants and sweaters because maybe management was sexist, but I don't know for sure.The food was delicious but there wasn't a lot of it. I always enjoy coming to Joey's and this is the best one in the tri-city area. I've seen it go from an over-priced-for-the-lackluster-food kinda place to the trendy, comfortable neighborhood meeting place that it is today. It's obviously better than Brown's or Earls and rivals Cactus Club for service and food. It's edge is that the price points are slightly better than Cactus The menu has evolved through the years and while they still kept many of their original staples they really have elevated the thought that goes behind it and redeveloped those dishes and made them better. I love the salads, the sandwiches are solid, chicken and fish mains are moist and the steak frites are the best deal in the neighborhood and best bang for your buck. Desserts area good too. The only thing I ever had that I didn't like was the enchilada dish... please skip it. The service here is also consistently good. The servers are professional, friendly and not pushy. The front of house staff at the desk usually always greet you with a smile. I've both dined in and done take out and have never had to wait too long. So glad it's within walking distance from both work and home! read more

We like Joeys in general, food is ok never bad, a little pricey service is always good. This location very cool decor, modern, and dark. We wanted a fast lunch so I ordered a lettuce wrap with chicken, it was ok nothing special. My husband ordered a beef dip, Very rare!! My husband doesn't mind rare but this was almost talking!! He decided to eat it anyway but he didn't finish it, for my husband it must be bad this guys eats. I tried it and ya I would have sent that back, the beef had a mushy consistency, the bread was ok, the au jus was probably the best part. But half eaten beef dip later and rushing to catch our movie we didn't bother complaining or sending it back. Before going here, I was tempted to write this place off as another Earls/Cactus Club/Milestones clone. It's a trendy restaurant with steaks and pasta on the menu, and a lot of good-looking people serving the food. But I was really, really impressed with the level of service at Joey's. At lot of places say they care about guests having a good time; these guys actually do go out of their way to ensure it. My steak dinner was delicious, but my husband was a little disappointed because the pasta he ordered came covered with scallions. He had asked if onions came on the dish - he hates them - and the server said no, but I guess she forgot about scallions being onion-y. So, trying not to make a fuss, he quietly pushed the pasta aside to take home, and I shared bites of my steak with him. The server noticed about the pasta and inquired if there was anything she could do. He demurred, but the floor manager came by as well, and graciously offered to make up another dish for him at no charge. So they brought a chicken caesar-type salad, since that could be made quickly. We were just blown away by the artful way the staff handled the whole situation - it really was outstanding service, and made all the difference to our evening out! read more

The online reservation form asked for details of our party and if there was a special occasion and how they can make it special. The hostess, the General Manager and Rachael were super friendly and attentive. What we ordered: Ahi Tuna Club, grilled rare, bacon, sweet pepper relish, onion rings, Steak and Sushi, Steak and Prawns, Filet Mignon, Bombay Butter Chicken, with aromatic almond basmati rice and grilled naan, Rainbow Roll, ahi tuna, salmon, crab, avocado Siracha aioli and Yam Fries. Drinks: Super Sonic Gin and Tonic, Peach Bellinis, Cokes, Coffee from JJ Beans, Peppermint Teas, For dessert: one of each Raspberry Chocolate Soufflé with Vanilla Ice Cream and Individually Baked Apple Pie, oat almond topping, Canadian Maple Ice Cream. The ice cream is spun daily, flash frozen with liquid nitrogen. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered! I have been looking forward to taking a bite out of my Ahi Tuna Club. I hate when I feel like a place only hires hot looking waitress with terrible food. Joey... I love your place even if that's my first impression when I walk in. But onto the food I was sorely disappointed you had taken away my viva salad, but I understand why... That 500 salad is to die for!!! I wasn't expecting anything from it actually. I ordered the veggie burger which btw was really yummy. My son had ordered it but it wasn't for him. I took it home. And expecting it just to be mediocre, it was amazing!
