The online reservation form asked for details of our party and if there was a special occasion and how they can make it special. The hostess, the General Manager and Rachael were super friendly and attentive. What we ordered: Ahi Tuna Club, grilled rare, bacon, sweet pepper relish, onion rings, Steak and Sushi, Steak and Prawns, Filet Mignon, Bombay Butter Chicken, with aromatic almond basmati rice and grilled naan, Rainbow Roll, ahi tuna, salmon, crab, avocado Siracha aioli and Yam Fries. Drinks: Super Sonic Gin and Tonic, Peach Bellinis, Cokes, Coffee from JJ Beans, Peppermint Teas, For dessert: one of each Raspberry Chocolate Soufflé with Vanilla Ice Cream and Individually Baked Apple Pie, oat almond topping, Canadian Maple Ice Cream. The ice cream is spun daily, flash frozen with liquid nitrogen. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered! I have been looking forward to taking a bite out of my Ahi Tuna Club. It was a perfect balance of flavours. The Ahi Tuna was grilled rare, the bacon was crisp and smoky, which complimented the sweet pepper relish and onion rings. It's my new fave! There are so many items in the menu that I want to eat! Definitely be back over and over again! Service: Excellent, attentive, caring. Really made our 3rd anniversary special with a few special touches. Everyone had complimentary frozen stiff lemonades--so refreshing! Additionally for both John and I, a small bottle of champagne! Best steak and fries the staff was super nice but had a hair in my food but definitely recommend

For a box restaurant, joey satisfies my appetite. From the ambiance, the modern styled bar and the menu, the restaurant has it going on. I usually don't do box restaurants because of its cookie cutter signature but at times it is the easiest way to get the whole family together for brunch when it involves the great grandparents and a couple of kids added to the mix. I ordered the chicken and ribs because of the tempting smoked sent in the air while entering the building. The smell just enticed me to bite into summer again not wanting to let go of it. The chicken breast was surprisingly delicious and flavorful. The ribs however had a tougher slightly burnt hue to it. Although the ribs tasted delicious, I do prefer when my ribs are a little less cooked and more on the tender, fall off the bone type scenario. I didn't mind it at all though because it tasted like a tender jerky, I ate the whole thing satisfied. As for desert, if you haven't tried the chocolate lava cake, then you should becouse it's the main reason to come to this restaurant. You'll be addicted to the chewy crust and ooozing center. The Apple pie is also delicious. Probably one of the better apple pies you'll try in town. The servers are always friendly and hospitable which makes the dining experience that much better I recommend this place especially if you have a thing for box restaurants. Over the weekend I held my birthday dinner at this location - we were a large group of about 20 people, and were extremely pleased with our experience! Being that our group was so large and getting final numbers is like pulling teeth, I must have changed my reservation 3 times, and each time the employee I spoke to was kind and super accommodating. I never felt as though I was bothering them (which has happened with other restaurants). They were able to put us in a great spot even though from what I could see they had multiple other large parties at the same time. We had 2 servers taking care of us - they were AWESOME. I don't think a single drink was empty at any point, they were very nice, patient, and ensured that we were all happy with everything that was put in front of us. Lastly, the food was absolutely fantastic. I had the Ahi Tuna Club, which I HIGHLY recommend by the way, and it was perfectly cooked. There was one issue with a steak being overdone but it was only due to the fact that the server had misheard the person who ordered it, it was rectified immediately - they brought him a brand new full meal with a perfectly cooked medium rare steak. We ended up at Joeys on Sunday around 3pm as Cactus down the road was unable to seat us. We ordered quite a few appies to share, as well as a banh mi and tuna tacos. The only customization we had to our order is that the tuna tacos be served on a pan fried taco (which was just lightly grilled) vs a fried taco (which is what it's usually served in). I was disappointed by the tuna tacos as there was minimal tuna in them and the rest of the food was standard pub food comparable to Cactus or Earls. I love Joey's Coquitlam! The food is always great. My faves are: Appies: Lettuce wraps; gyoza; calamari (though the gyoza are overpriced IMO, or there aren't enough of them. Make it 8 instead of 6 and I'd feel better about it). Entree: Chicken and ribs (with mashed and sub-asparagus) Dessert: The butterscotch-raspberry mouse with sponge toffee thing, omg, it's incredible. Possibly the best dessert ever. The service is always very good and very friendly. Be prepared for a long wait for the dining room on the weekend though. There is regularly a good 30 - 45 minute wait for a table. You can just go into the lounge - I almost always do - although that is usually very busy too on the weekend for dinner - sometimes you have to stake it out and grab a table or seats at the bar while competing with others who are doing the same. My complaints are: 1) the acoustics are brutal. When it's busy it is SO loud. They should get some sound dampening panels and place them strategically. 2) It can get too hot in the summer. If they have A/C, it's not adequate for the space. 3) Some of their drinks are rather too expensive. read more

Came here for a birthday. Been to the downtown and bentall locations many times and have had no problem with their food and service. This location, however, was a tad disappointing. The appy- veggie lettuce wrap- barely any veggies, mostly dried noodle. Overly saucy and super salty. Ice burg Lettuce was fresh and crunchy. The entree- steak and frites with rocket salad. Steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavours. The fries were overly seasoned and again, super salty. I passed on the salad because it wasn't rocket/ arugula, it was bitter and looked stale. Disappointing, because I love arugula. The service was 5/5 though, attentive and friendly server. But the food was WAAAYYYY too salty! Maybe I'll ask for low sodium next time, if there's a next time. read more

I went to Joey Coquitlam for dinner today with some visiting family. I've been to this place before and the service is typically good. Today may have been the exception. It started off like a normal night. We placed our drink, appetizer, and main orders. They all seemed to have arrived like normal, but what was different about today was that once we got our mains, we never heard a peep from our server during our meal. There was no customary, "how is your food tasting" or filling of our water during the meal. The only time we heard back from our server was after a good 15/20 minutes after we finished the meal and our glasses of water was nearing empty. Now, not to fully blame the server, they were working on a big party over in the room. The thing I didn't like about this was that there was no backup server to cover for them and wait on our table and the others around us. What would've been even better was if the big group had dedicated servers so that it doesn't take away from the main dining area. So the only way I knew about this, that they were serving the big group during this time was when they apologized to another table saying that they were helping out with the big group. At this point, you would think that they'd apologize to each of their tables because we they were absent, but when they arrived to ours, not a word, explanation, or an apology like the other table because of their absence. This caused us to lower their tip because it is essentially a gift for their service, which we didn't have much of. Like I said, this was probably the exception, the outlier. This wouldn't deter me from coming back again. As for the food, I had the filet mignon. To be completely honest, it wasn't worth the $33.50 before tax/tip price tag because it was really small. Though, the steak was pretty tender. I'll give it that. Overall, I would still come back because I generally like their food and service, today just wasn't that kind of day. read more

I've been going to Joey's for a while now. Had a pleasure meeting Nicole L who serves my group most of the time. This girl is so lively. She serves with a smile, always come by the table making sure we are doing fine. We'll come by to check up how the food is and if we need anything but the best thing about Nicole L is that she's super friendly and very pleasant even when she's busy where many servers would be stressed and it shows in their demeanor. I returned to Joey Tomato's the other night after finding them listed on a celiac Vancouver website as having a gluten free menu. I mean, that is something I have to check out. Arriving early to avoid the dinner line, I was seated right away... and the Gluten Free menu was easily produced. Basically it was a listing of actual menu items that did not contain gluten or had been slightly modified to not have gluten (ex - omitting a side of naan, etc...) I ordered up the Baby Barbeque Ribs, my boyfriend had the rotisserie chicken and ribs. When they arrived I was super stoked... huge heap of mashed potatos (I am Irish afterall), my half order of ribs was massive, with dill carrots on the side. All of it was so fantastic I continued stuffing my face until I was "ohmigod-I'm-actually-going-to-vomit" full. Boyfriend did the same :) The service was so awesome - the server arrived at the exact perfect times and was so friendly and put with my my questioning. And, for my anywhere I can go, have fantastic hip-sorta atmosphere and order like a normal person scores a five star in my book! read more

Disgusted by the service we received from here. We were a group of 7 and had booked a reservation for 7pm. As soon as we got in the doors and walked up to the hostess and told her that we had reservations and gave her the name the reservation was under she had a confused look on her face and looked lost.. She asked us 5 times what the reservation name was under and we repeated ourselves atleast 5 times. She kept asking if the reservation was under the name Alex and kept pointing at a huge table that a girl was sitting at. I told her no that is def not our reservation. Next thing we know our entire group is sitting for 1 hour by the front door WAITING to be seated. Our gf who is PREGNANT was starving and so so so upset and this was her celebration. After 1 hour we got seated in the family room that was filled with kids running around and screaming all around us. The food was terrible..I had one bite of my meal. This was the worst experience I have ever encountered at a restaurant in my entire life. OH and while we were waiting for an hour, the girls that were standing at the hostess desk were laughing at us and talking behind our backs and giving us dirty looks. JOEY you really need to do something about the girls you hire because that is bullying and unacceptable. The waitress who was serving us was also rushing us the entire time and made us feel very uncomfortable. I will never EVER return to this location ever again and will make sure to let everybody know how we had been treated. read more

We ordered takeout via Door Dash from here a month ago and everything was spot on, with the exception of there being very little tuna in a tuna dish. This time a Tuna cone appy showing two cones in the ordering picture actually only came with one. The burger and fries were stone cold, and we live a five minute drive from the restaurant. The Lettuce wraps had very little to it and no hosin sauce (sacrilege). The crispy mash appy was also stone cold and the cheese on it hadn't been so much "melted on it" as "hucked at it on it's way out." We know this place can do better. They have done. This place has the best steak ever. You have to try the peppercorn new york steak here. The sauce is simply irresistible and the steak can never be more well cooked. I like my steak done rare and believe it was rare and it was fantastic! I love the veggies that comes with this dish. It's a little far, but I love it. I tried the Vancouver location and it just isn't the same. The new location just hasn't mastered the way coquitlam makes it just yet. I've been here for steak (might actually go there tonight now that i'm talking about it) so many times, i love it everytime. The service is wonderful, if you ever not like your dish, let your waiter/waitress know and the will credit your bill while you order something else. Best service around. Lots of parking everynight and a great place for group parties or small groups too. Ambiance is very nice, always a great experience everytime I go. This is a frequent date-night stop for me and my fiancee. Service is always excellent and we haven't had anything on the menu we didn't like. The staff seem to be professionally trained, as opposed to the usual type of servers at other chain restaurants. My husband took my family here last year for a joint birthday lunch on a quiet Sunday. The serving staff at this Coquitlam location was just a mess, our server was incredibly slow and lackluster. We thought that she was either new or perhaps just stayed out too late the night before. It took our server a long time before she came by to ask if we'd like anything to drink and furthermore - our drinks took a long time before they even brought them out. I would understand the hold up if the restaurant was bustling busy however it was rather quiet for lunch. Drinks came out but no wine glasses or anything and we had to ask twice before we received anything that we needed. My husband was extremely embarrassed that he had even suggested this place to my family - needless to say, the two birthday guests were disappointed as well since we were charged for the complimentary chocolate molten lava desserts yet we weren't even given a choice for other desserts. Joey Coquitlam has become somewhat of a tradition for my fiance and I. We go there on special occasions, because we enjoy it more than The Keg. The food has always been excellent, and the service almost top notch. Mostly, we go there for the cap top sirloin that comes with the lovely crispy mashed potatoes. They come in a spring roll with sour cream on the side. They are amazing. The last few times though I have had the steak and sushi, which is a tataki style steak and rainbow roll. It is a small portion for the price, but it does leave room for desert! The Italian donuts are a little bready though, but are still decent. Two thumbs up! I was visiting from out of town for business and joined a few of my colleagues for dinner at Joey's Coquitlam. First time to a Joey's establishment. The friendly staff - all with smiles - greeted us as we trickled right in from a rainy Tuesday evening. Soon seated, we started the evening with a few glasses of wine. Followed by some great appetizers ie lettuce wraps and Korean style prepared cauliflowers (amazing!). I also ordered the Bombay Butter Chicken - why? Please don't ask...let's just say I was feelin a little curry! :) It was not amazingly delicious, but it hit the spot! Wrapping up the dinner with my colleagues, a local family member joined me for drinks. We headed to the bar area and were attended to by an awesome staff member, Chloe! When you know and remember someone's name even after a week later, it's definitely a friendly sign she treated us like we were regulars. Chloe visited the table often enough to attend to our alcoholic needs (more wine), but not too often that we felt the table service was overwhelming. She was onto the next table and treated the other tables, from what I was observing, with great service, but with great character as well! Great smile and awesome attitude all around! Great restaurant with amazing service. Our server Nicole was from the bar so she moved around a lot and even with all that movement, she was able to provide us great service. Super friendly and constantly checked on us to see if we needed anything. I had a coke that was almost done and before I could say anything, a new full glass of Coke was at my table. I had the butter chicken plate and it was amazing. The rice was cooked well and the chicken had lots of flavor. Highly recommend this dish to anyone who loves Indian food. The dish was highly recommended by Nicole as well. I would go back just for the service. It's rare to see an atmosphere that friendly and people happy to be at work. Great job Nicole! read more

The food I've had here (I've tried a couple of the salads, ahi tuna tacos, and butter chicken) has always been delicious, and they have $3 drink specials (bellinis and highball novas) sun-thurs all day!!! Which is great if you're a non beer drinker like myself and want an inexpensive option when going for weeknight bevvies. But if you're into beer they always seem to have cheap pints too. I've never waited very long for a table, service is quick and the servers know the menu well. Grace in particular is an awesome server!!! read more

Oh Joey, you make me love you more each day...except for last night when we had a tiff with your TV issues. BH has been cooped up home the last 3 weeks due to surgery and we thought we'd celebrate our first night out in weeks with a Canucks game/dinner at Joey's. We've been there before and loved the huge screens and the atmosphere. Unfortunately for us and everyone else there last night, their TVs weren't working...thanks a lot Shaw. Even after breaking up with Shaw at home, we can't get rid of them completely. It's like that jerk ex you see everywhere. Anyhoo...back to Joey's. Needless to say, we were more than a little disappointed. What made up for that disappointment was: a) our very hot server who I'm now having lesbian fantasies about. Normally it's 2/3 coverage and 1/3 cleavage but hers was the other way around. BH was genuinely concerned about er, well we discussed at length how we'd both handle it should one accidentally pop out. I was enthralled by how hot she was and already decided she was getting tipped. Ah, life is easy for attractive people. AND b) the ever dashing GM of Joey's Coquitlam who proactively apologized to us profusely for this disappointment...who backed up that apology with gift cards for our next visit. I was genuinely wowed by that level of customer service, which I so did not expect from a chain restaurant. It's not the freebies that ensued which were really a token amount, but how he communicated a genuine concern for our dining experience that blew me away. The GM invited us to text/phone/email him personally when we go back next time so we can be taken care of. WOW. All my years of going to Milestones where we've encountered problems before (raw chicken wings anyone?) and I've never felt this "served". We won't be bothering you sir, but we will be back for sure. Came here for Saturday late-night happy hour. We had a larger group (and we waited for a while even though the restaurant didn't seem to be very busy...). Happy hour deals were on point for both my mouth and wallet. 3.50 beers, some cheap, above expectation sushi cones. Fries and other snacks hit the spot. I'm not usually one to strike up any conversation with my server but ours was one of the best I've ever had when it came to a bit of casual conversation and fun banter with our larger group. My wife and I never get date nights due to our 2 beautiful children, but tonight, we did. We chose Joeys. It was my first time, and let me say, I was THOROUGHLY IMPRESSED. I felt good about the place as soon as we walked in. It was very busy (Thursday night), but we only waited 5 minutes. But they still were apologetic for a small 5 minute wait and it was sincere. Soleil was our server, and she couldnt have been any more pleasant. She checked in on us just the right amount and had a genuine smile every time. Her customer service is top notch and she should be recognized for a job well done. I ordered the beef dip with garlic fries, and it was absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked and the garlic fries with the sauce they serve for pairing were mouthwatering. My wife ordered the butter chicken and said its some of the best shes had and the naan IS THE BEST shes had. The open kitchen is also very awesome and fun to watch. Because of our experience, start to finish, we will most certainly be back and will probably become our new go-to for our special date nights. read more

Not sure what the draw is here, they're just like a Milestones or Earls but perhaps a little less expensive? Typical North American eatery and scantily clad tight short black dressed waitresses. Oh I guess that might be the draw! Well we ordered the fish tacos and lettuce wrap but instead of noodles we replace it with brown rice. The fish tacos were ok... tacos a little greasy, skimpy on the fish and nowhere to wipe our hands! Apparently if you sit in the section in front of the big screen TV (oh another reason to go) the waitress isn't used to bringing people utensils and napkins there...hmmm? Anyways the lettuce wrap was also just ok the filling was good albeit on the very salty side. Good place to hang out with lots of friends to watch a game, have some drinks and eat finger foods. it's always nice to go to a popular restaurant and be greeted by a huge lot with free parking. It's a nice respite from having to pay for parking in every nook and cranny of the Lower Mainland. Walking into the restaurant, the hostess was ready to greet and seat me. My friend had already made a reservation. I was happy to know that this location too reservations. The hostess took me to a very lush booth; I love booths! It sat all four of us comfortably. Soon, a waitress came by and took our drink orders. The service was prompt and friendly. We ordered the chilli chicken to start, which was much like sweet and sour chicken from a Western Chinese restaurant. It was pretty darn good. As mains, my friend ordered the lobster grilled cheese, chicken alfredo, lobster ravioli, and I had the ahi tuna club. All of the mains were delicious, and everyone was very pleased and satisfied with what he or she ordered. The only minor complaint I have is that it took a while between the appetizer and main, but otherwise, the experience was very good. I will definitely go back. Mmm Joey's is one of my favorite restaraunts! The waitresses were very friendly and the service was actually really good! I loved the Pesto Shrimp flat bread, I could eat that stuff all day long!!! I don't eat red meat or poultry so I really love that they offer a vegetarian chicken substitute, it's nice to not have just salads or pastas to choose from! They serve the most amazing, loaded with goods side salads which makes it really easy to bypass the tempting french fries! The Italian donuts were amazing, fresh sugar twist donut with some lemon stuff (don't know what it was called) that was delicious!
