I had this strange feeling the pizza might be premade and maybe they just add the topping for your order I don't know. Overall, it was very much a tale of 2 cities. Iffy service and horrid pizza. Joey D's Pizzeria is being dismissive about my complaint towards one of their employees. One of their workers who was named Wyatt delivered pizza to one of the residents in my neighborhood. When he was leaving the neighborhood with his car, he slowed down his vehicle and yelled a bunch of gibberish to me in a failed attempt at mimicking an Asian or Chinese accent. Therefore, I went to the customer's house that I saw their worker deliver food to and got the information about the workplace from where the pizza delivery came from. Since the information led to Joey D's Pizzeria, I called the pizzeria where one of their workers put me on "hold" several times before finally pretending to be the manager. He told me that the employee delivering food was named Wyatt before telling me how this is America and we can say whatever we want which is simply not true since the incident is actually harassment which does not or should not be tolerated in a workplace environment. The worker on the phone continuously claimed that his coworker was listening to loud music which is also not true since I did not hear any music from his coworker's car when that coworker yelled at me through the open passenger window. The employee on the phone got upset and hung up on me. About a half hour later, another man named Andrew who was allegedly the real manager called me. He was not as impatient but still made excuses for his employee's poor behavior towards me. After I told him that his employee was not actually listening to music or loud music for that matter, he changed his story from the delivery boy listening to music on his cell phone through the headphones to having the Bluetooth on which is simply not true because I did not see the delivery boy wearing any headphones, utilizing any electronic or cellular devices during that incident, or producing any noise or noticeable decibel from his car. Andrew said that he will talk to his coworker about it but I am not sure if they will take my harassment complaint seriously. read more

Their Plain Cheese Pizza is NOT their staple. Their tomato sauce is so watered down to the point that its tasteless and it drips off the pizza. disgusting. Joey D's staple is specialty pizzas. buffalo chicken pizza, chicken marsala, etc. That is what theyre known for. their other food is good too, like their pastas, but its pretty generic all in all. theres so many pizza places in metuchen alone that all of the food is generic when you compare it to one another. also the meatballs are pretty bland tasting. You wont be disappointed if you go to this place, unless you want a plain cheese pizza. read more

I've never been to a place where i had the employees themselves be a problem. Rude, disrespectful, and their racist comments to my asian-american friend didn't help. Overall distasteful. The manager himself could careless and promoted "free speech" when confronted through phonecall and was unwilling to talk things through appeopriately. Free speech and harassment are completely different. Will never be dining here again. Its 2017. We all bleed the same color and land is the same across the world. What we look like should not be a priority for service or how we treat others. read more

This is by far one of the worse pizza places ever. They told me over the phone that my total was $40 and somehow it came out to $60 when the delivery driver came. They also gave me linguini with white clam sauce when I wanted linguini with red clam sauce. Tell the guy that takes down the order to get his ears checked out. My pizza box was crushed with all the food on top of it and you can even see the pizza grease on the pizza box lid itself. read more
