I've been here around 2-3 times just during summer. The food was excellent 11/10, but the service was slower than Rudy's, and it took them a total of 30 minutes to make 1 burger, a belly buster, and 2 Italian ices. My reviews for this Joey's would have been a lot higher. The staff here was absolutely friendly though the wait time for the food was much longer than I anticipated. Unfortunately, my biggest thing that kills my review about this location was that I got food poisoning which which kept me down for a few days. I've been looking for an excuse to check out this location for a long while when it first opened. I've gone to many Joey's locations and this is the first time I've had this issue. Great choices from soup to dinners! You might think that they only serve hot dogs, but there is so much more to choose from!

I visited early this afternoon and ordered a steak taco with everything and a chicken taco with everything plus a red sauce and a green sauce I have not ordered their tacos before so I thought I'd give them a try. I get home. I just start with the steak taco. It's slightly seasoned very bland actually one the bland is tacos. I've had the chicken one was chicken breast that was pan fried and seasoned with just salt and pepper and they were all dry. Pieces was very disappointed my rating for this place would not be very high, I think this place would be for somebody who has got issues maybe that can't have spicy foods which is a plus side. The food is not very seasoned. it accommodates people with acid reflux, upper G.I. issues, stomach issues. This is the place. It will not irritate your stomach like a regular taco joint. I prefer this place over Portillo's. We tried the dogs, the Italian beef, and the green salad. The Italian beef was really great! We were able to get peppers and the dip on the side which was the best call. Chicago dogs are delicious and way better than Portillo's. Same goes for the chili dogs, so delicious. The Greek salad however did not do it for me. Don't get that when you come here. Stick to the meats and what they're good at. Overall, will be back again and again. read more

Of all the Joey's locations, this location is my favorite. The employees are friendly and the service is quick. Not all the locations have fountain soda and give you can soda, fountain soda is on tap here. The restaurant is kept very clean and there are no odd smells. The food is very good and prices are very reasonable compared to most places. The specials include a sandwich(es), fries, and a drink. Popped in midday yesterday because yay it's finally open and y'all know I love a Chicago hot dog. The parking lot seems tiny for the amount of customers they have, but I had no trouble grabbing a spot. As crowded as it was, I didn't have to wait in line and our order came out in a couple minutes hot and fresh. The young lady that took my order was friendly. There were lots of people working behind the counter, the place was clean, and happy employees means Joey's is already doing something right. The most important part of this review is obviously the hot dog. Killer. Poppyseed bun perfectly steamed, appropriately topped as a Chicago dog should be, and the dog had a nice lil snap. The fries are great(crinkle cut) and I definitely recommend trying the loaded fries. Remember when Portillo's was consistently good? Here's a fantastic replacement. For seating, go on a nice day and grab a table outside. Inside is fine for grab and go and they do have tables outside with umbrellas. We'll definitely be back. read more

You've got to have a good frank and fresh toppings, applied judiciously. Don't laugh-there IS a skill to it Wife is a real estate broker, and has to service listings in the area of Joey's here--the place has a bright inviting look, so one day we figured we'd give it a shot. Man! What a surprise! FAB hotdogs, an authentic Maxwell St. Polish (with proper grilled onions). Over subsequent visits, we've had a fine burger and an authentic Maxwell Street bone-in Pork Chop sandwich (again with the proper grilled onions). Of course nothing beats Jim's Original in the South Loop for that Polish and Pork Chop (If you're not from Chicago-google those two sandwiches--they are iconic in town here-and it's rare they are done even close to the originals at Jim's). Joey's does them proud! Last time I was here, I had a Greek Salad with Gyros, and damned if it wasn't GREAT gyros. The place is bright and clean inside, and the staff is pleasant and efficient. Good "throw" on the fountain drinks too. A notch or 5 above the fray, for true. One caveat-they started serving pre-packed slices of cake branded by "Carlo's" the TeeVee Baker. The staff is friendly and the PRICE IS RIGHT! My family of 5 eats GOOD for under $40! We eat here a minimum once a week since we first stopped in. The chicken philly is my favorite and the crinkle fries are crispy and delicious - even if you carry out. My kids love the pizza puff meal and you can add an extra puff for $1.35. My only gripe is the hot dogs buns have poppy seeds, which isn't my fave - I know, I know - it's a Chicago thing! But there are PLENTY of other choices for me or the pickiest person in your group. Four stars because they just opened and they were very busy which caused my order to come out lukewarm from the kitchen . They have crinkle fries and good selection of items on the menu with affordable prices. Staff was very friendly and doing their best to accommodate a big crowd . Parking lot size is deceiving , only 9 spots and you can get blocked in if they have lots of customers. I had a hot dog and fried mushrooms . All had good taste but hot dog was barely warm and fries and mushrooms needed to stay longer in the fryer. I will give them another try as small hot dog places are disappearing slowly. Was very excited for new place. Popped in to pick up a fast dinner for the family. 4 hot dogs took 17 minutes to get into my hands. If you want something other than dogs plan lunch and dinner time there.. They were not busy nor did I see many orders up on cooks order thing where they hang. There was 1 two bag order and the girls apologized to all guests. So the hot dogs were hot dogs and the fries are good crinkle cut. Very reminiscent of lucky dog fries. Also got a pomegranate mango italian ice but it tasted like cherry ice I get off ice cream truck for the kids. Next time I will try basic lemon ice. Yes there will be a next time because of fries.
