I stopped by for a pastry and to check out their pumpkin patch. Pumpkins are priced at 50 cents per pound, but I wouldn't recommend the pastries. Neither the donut nor the pie were good. There are definitely better pumpkin patches around than this one.

Although we didn't stay to see all the attractions, it's clear that lots of care went into making this space special. Our little one needed a pumpkin for school and we thought the farm would be a great place for her to run around while we picked that up. The selection of pumpkins is vast and they also had flowers and other yard goodies for sale. We picked up a box of apple donuts to share and they were excellent! We regretted not getting a pie to take home with us... Last, but not least, they have a room with props to take family/individual photos. We got some great family shots!

This place was exactly what I was looking for! I wanted a place that wasn't sooo crowded and had fun things to do for myself and my teen daughter and nieces and this place was perfect for us. We went on Saturday and were able to feed a pony, goats and even hold baby chicks! We also did a small hay ride (very basic) that was fun and a short corn maze. They have a few large inflatable slides for kids and even a mini golf area. Food prices are average and the tent to eat had plenty of tables available that were spread out (Covid friendly). There were also hand sanitizers all around the farm. Masks weren't required but we wore them anyway and felt safe. Was not overly crowded at all. We would def recommend and we'll be back next year!

We visited Johansen Farms earlier this fall and enjoyed our visit here. The farm is pretty big and offers a little something for everyone being on 4 acres! There was ample parking spots and even a few attendants out there directing traffic. Loved the hand sanitizer stations throughout and the social distancing signage. If you're looking to grab a few pumpkins and some apple cider donuts, it's free admission to do that and peek around. If you want to get into the zoo area / rides it's $15 admission per person. I thought this fee was pricey because a lot of things in the zoo area were only viewable, not interactive. We however understand the social distancing and new practices that people are taking during this time. The goats are always my favorite animals to peek at. They were lively here and always love a little corn snack! It was nice to see that the complimentary hay rides were still happening. Our small group had a blast on it and everyone on the ride was wearing a mask. The apple cider donuts here were hot and fresh and worth the line. The dough was fluffy and they tasted homemade. You can be them as a single or dozen. The caramel apples were SO good. Those has to be freshly dipped. Definitely recommend those. The day we went was a little chilly so a cup of hot apple cider was also a win. They had about 6 or 8 picnic tables set up and spaced out well for people to sit down and have a few bites. Overall, we had a good time and would come back again. My family has been coming here for years so it was nice to see how things have or haven't changes throughout.

This place is trying to ensure everyone is safe with lots of cleaning, and social distanced visits of the animals. We enjoyed our visit and I do think $15 a pp is worth it. Skip the $5 hand wipes, they have hand washing and hand sanitizing stations everywhere. Some tips: Visit and hold a chick! So cute. Visit the Mamma Pig and piglets Play all the included games! Skip the hayride (short and slow...waited longer to get on) Try their pumpkin pie and bread, skip the apple cider it's from a store bought. Skip the pumpkin patch...unless it's for pictures

Food court- expensive for what it is. I would skip the food but order the desserts.

I've had better experiences other places. Not very clean restrooms, and sticky eating areas. Food prices really are absurd. 4.50 for a plain ol' hot dog and no sides, 5.50 for a mini little hamburger ( steamed) and no sides. I would get the donuts however. I like how small it is for smaller children up to age 5. Sort of boring shopping but they do however have great looking mums ( fall flowers) for purchase. I would say weekday pricing is one of the cheapest of the area 14.95 each ( coupon for 1 dollar off each entry is posted) but you also get what you pay for.

This review is for Johansen Farms Children's Zoo & Pumpkin Farm, not the nursery and garden center, though they have all their beautiful mums on display and for sale. If you're looking to take the family out in the Fall or go on a cute date, Johansen Farms is an attractive option. It offers free parking, a nice outdoor storefront with free samples of their pies and apple cider donuts, and pumpkins galore. The zoo portion requires an admission fee ($13.50 on the weekends), but it includes everything inside. Pony rides, giant inflatables, a 9 hole mini golf course, and a corn maze! I kind of balked at the price at first, but after seeing everything that's included and how much my kids enjoyed it, I found it worth the price of admission. Bring quarters, if you want to feed the animals. The goats are cute, and your heart will melt when you see the little baby chickies. If it doesn't then you might want to get checked for ice in your veins. Johansen Farms is not as large as other farms I've been to, but the variety of activities makes it worthwhile IMO.

This was a delightful pop-up patch out in Lisle and was an excellent event for all ages. You walk around a trail with your family and are entertained. Since it is a rain or shine kind of event, wear boots that you can wash off when you get home ... it can get messy. What they do here is set up a trail that you follow and around which they display thousands of pumpkins in different displays. It was really well done. All the displays are illuminated so it is really a visual treat. We have never seen anything like this over-the-top Halloween display - and mind you there are no scary things. So if you want a Halloween activity for the family without any scares, this is your place. Loads of parking so don't worry about that issue. Now the bad news. We went here in late 2019, the pandemic year of 2020 had nothing, and the people who run this did not put it on in 2021. But now you know - if they do set this up again - hopefully in 2022 - go. Make a reservation as soon as you hear about it because it sells out. We hope they come back ...

The Yelp Chicago Burbs community manager had mentioned about picking up the complimentary tickets at their table booth right outside the event area. When my wife and I got there (around 7:30 PM), the place was packed and busy. There already was a long line to get inside. Once I got the tickets from the Yelp community manager, I was given instructions about the express line for the Yelp Elites to get inside. We took advantage of that were able to get to the ticket scanning area quickly. From there, we merged into the main line of the actual entrance to the Pumpkin Glow exhibit. We enjoyed viewing all the different types of pumpkin exhibits they had at this place. It was quite colorful. The carvings on the pumpkin was great and whoever did those carvings, did an amazing job. There were different themes (pop culture based) showcasing these glowing pumpkins. It was a cool experience. Too bad it was pretty chilly outside and we had to bundle up. Thanks to Yelp Chicago Burbs and Jack's Pumkin Glow for this opportunity. Without Yelp Chicago Burbs information, I probably wouldn't have known about this place and thus, would not have gone. Things to keep in mind when going here is that it can be extremely busy so expect long (slow moving lines); when it's cold outside, bundle up as this is an outdoor venue; there can be slick and muddy path on your way in, there is gift shop and a snack shop when you exit the venue, and parking is free. Check them out.

I go to the farm for pickup every week, and I love the variety, that I can pick and choose between over a dozen different herbs and veggies, the extras they often have, the UPick tomatoes and beans and etc. It's also such a relief to know where my food is coming from, that there are no chemical fertilizers or pesticides in it, that it's not downwind a feedlot so no chances of salmonella outbreaks in their leafy greens, that it hasn't been sprayed to ripen -- the peace of mind itself is invaluable. I could see this zoo would be designed for local residents, but this was a quality one for taking small children for some good time. The animals appeared to be well taken care off.
