The cows are my favorite! I wish I could give this place a 5 star but this last visit we lost 2 kids in our group because the hay stacks have two exits. I wish they could block one side off. Also, a SOBER, careful adult in our group almost got plowed in the head with one of those hammers from the strong man game while she was walking by a man doing it. They really should put a staff member there AND put a fence around it. Those adults having fun aren't looking around every time they swing... it's a recipe for disaster.

There was a great selection of cute fall decor items and giant pumpkins plus mini gourds. They also had the fullest mums I have seen all year- gorgeous!! The fall treats were delish. AUTUMN INDECISION I…read morewant to like Johansen Farms, but the cynical part of me sees through their charade. To me, dunking on a small business is usually 'no bueno', but after two visits to Johansen's fall petting zoo I find myself wondering "THIS is what we paid for??" Very few things are truly free these days, and I get that, but admission to Johansen's does not fall in the realm of good value. Located along Boughton Rd in Bolingbrook, Johansen's is open during the spring/summer as a nursery and farm (April-July), during autumn as a pumpkin patch, and briefly in the winter to sell Christmas trees. On busy weekends in October, police have a lane blocked off to shepherd traffic in & out of the parking lot. On that note, parking is free, thankfully, as is walking around their pumpkin patch. I saw a review from 2017 - a mere seven years ago - that mentions admission was $13.50. It's nearly doubled since that time! $23 allows you to feed the goats, enjoy a small corn maze, hayride, a "train" (actually just a bumpy trailer pull with tiny, uncomfortable carriages), and rinky-dink mini golf. Kids have to be 42" to bounce on the myriad inflatables, however, anyone over 2yo is full price. How many 2-4 year olds have you met that are 42" tall?? Apart from Kareem Abdul Jabbar's kids, how about NONE. I'm sure Johansen's knows this, so they're screwing plenty of people with this sneaky little exploit. The pumpkin patch is nice; we found an orange specimen that was a solid 9/10, with everyone in my group agreeing it was the roundest and most picturesque gourd they'd seen in a long time. Apple cider donuts are decent and you can buy hot cider at their bake shop counter. * TL;DR * Johansen's fall festivities are cute, though you get shockingly little for the money. You'll have to pay full price for your 3-year-old, but due to height restrictions on their bouncy houses, they won't be able to go in. Adults aren't allowed on inflatables, ditto for the ponies. In fact, grown-ups will spend most of their time standing around, which I can do for free at home (or literally anywhere else). Oh, but don't despair, as you can join their fanclub for a whopping $1 off general admission! *sprays confetti* gee, thanks guys! My wife likes them because they're local, but sorry honey, I'm done-zo with Johansen's. We'll take our annual (free) picture on the hay bales, but if it's my money we're spending, next year we're making the trip to Bengtson's.

It was a beautiful, sunny October day, and the weather was perfect to have fun at the Punkin Patch! The price per person was $14.50. I feel that this fee was overpriced. There are not enough activities here to charge this much money. They could at least offer a discount for the large group that attended. The highlight of the trip was the Corn Maize. It is huge and takes about 45 minutes to find an exit. The students enjoyed the corn shooter where they could shoot guns at the targets. I rode the hayride 2 times, which was a very quick, boring ride. It appeared to stop and run out of gas. We were stalled for a few minutes. The kiddie tractor pull ride is for small adults and children, but it was a very slow ride. Many students enjoyed the petting zoo, which contained goats, donkeys, etc. There was also a bouncy area for kids to jump on. The food was extremely mediocre and overpriced. I paid 13 dollars for a small, nasty piece of pizza and an order of fries. I do not recommend the food. Parking is free and they have a big lot. Every person received a pumpkin as they exited the farm. The kids had a lot of fun outside, but I feel that it wasn't worth the prices.

They do have some good kid attractions that as an adult were pretty fun. There is a giant inflated "pillow" jumper, which was very bouncy and fun. My sister and I came on a Friday and it was pretty empty. It's like a giant trampoline but shaped like a pillow on the ground. The second attraction we enjoyed was the corn box. It's a sandbox but instead of sand, it was corn. So much fun! But mostly because no one else was there, we were able to enjoy sinking into the corn kernels and making corn angels. Otherwise, admission was pricey for adults given that there isn't much to do. You do get 2 coupons with admission price. One coupon gave a few dollars off food and the other gave a few dollars off a pumpkin. This place isn't a farm really but like a plot of land. They do have free parking in the lot. I think this may be fun for kids on a weekend but not so much for adults looking for a fun fall day. We spent maybe 1.5 hours there, walking around and looking for a pumpkin. We came there for the corn maize and were disappointed but maybe our expectations were too high.

This was a delightful pop-up patch out in Lisle and was an excellent event for all ages. You walk around a trail with your family and are entertained. Since it is a rain or shine kind of event, wear boots that you can wash off when you get home ... it can get messy. What they do here is set up a trail that you follow and around which they display thousands of pumpkins in different displays. It was really well done. All the displays are illuminated so it is really a visual treat. We have never seen anything like this over-the-top Halloween display - and mind you there are no scary things. So if you want a Halloween activity for the family without any scares, this is your place. Loads of parking so don't worry about that issue. Now the bad news. We went here in late 2019, the pandemic year of 2020 had nothing, and the people who run this did not put it on in 2021. But now you know - if they do set this up again - hopefully in 2022 - go. Make a reservation as soon as you hear about it because it sells out. We hope they come back ...

The Yelp Chicago Burbs community manager had mentioned about picking up the complimentary tickets at their table booth right outside the event area. When my wife and I got there (around 7:30 PM), the place was packed and busy. There already was a long line to get inside. Once I got the tickets from the Yelp community manager, I was given instructions about the express line for the Yelp Elites to get inside. We took advantage of that were able to get to the ticket scanning area quickly. From there, we merged into the main line of the actual entrance to the Pumpkin Glow exhibit. We enjoyed viewing all the different types of pumpkin exhibits they had at this place. It was quite colorful. The carvings on the pumpkin was great and whoever did those carvings, did an amazing job. There were different themes (pop culture based) showcasing these glowing pumpkins. It was a cool experience. Too bad it was pretty chilly outside and we had to bundle up. Thanks to Yelp Chicago Burbs and Jack's Pumkin Glow for this opportunity. Without Yelp Chicago Burbs information, I probably wouldn't have known about this place and thus, would not have gone. Things to keep in mind when going here is that it can be extremely busy so expect long (slow moving lines); when it's cold outside, bundle up as this is an outdoor venue; there can be slick and muddy path on your way in, there is gift shop and a snack shop when you exit the venue, and parking is free. Check them out.
