I have only seen Dr Burak twice. Both times were pleasant. I was asked to monitor my blood pressure…read moreand send information to him. After I sent original log the Dr changed a medication, ordered bloodwork at labcorp and asked to continue to monitor. This is where things get crazy. I was having a CT scan ordered by another doctor. Test was done at Methodist Richardson Hospital on GBT. On the day I had my CT scan I got home and received a call from Dallas, Dr Buraks assistant with my bloodwork results!! When I told her I did not have bloodwork done her response was "yes you did". I explained my bloodwork is scheduled for the following day. Again she said I was wrong and she had the results. I requested the incorrect test be taken off my portal. The following day came and she posted my actual bloodwork on my portal. I requested the incorrect test results be removed. She told me that getting them taken off was my problem!! After much back and forth with the hospital the explanation they are going with is that the bloodwork was done while I was in the CT SCAN!! Somehow I missed them taking blood from me? They put an IV in for the dye but no blood was taken. I am left with a cardiologist that employs rude incompetence, my blood pressure is still not regulated and the doctor is comparing bloodwork that did not come from me. This situation has made a very difficult time in life even worse!! Plus when does any medical facility do tests for 2 different doctors at the same time? I'm thinking this would be an insurance nightmare.

The doctor was 30 minutes late because he was "stuck in traffic on 75". When the nurse finally got me into a room, she said she was going to do an EKG. I told her I had one last week at my general practitioner's office and I would be happy for him to send the results. She asked if I had it with me. I told her again I would ask my GP to forward a copy to the doctor. She replied. "I will let Dr. Frenkel know you refused", and left the room hurriedly. I also asked her why I was sent to a different location, and also asked if they are affiliated with BSW. She said, "We have never been affiliated with BSW." She was very abrupt and seemed bothered with every question. She returned and handed me a gown and told me to undress and put it on. I told her I was confused why a cardiologist needs me to take my clothes off. She said, "Because it's your first visit with the doctor." That does not answer the question. I asked again, and she gave me the same answer with a strict tone. I have never been asked to undress for a cardiologist and have never had a nurse reluctant to give information or answer questions. I told her I was not satisfied with her reluctance to answer my questions or explain anything. I then left the office.

I truly believe the confidence as well as the encouragement they have given me is the reason I haven't had anymore cardiac events. But the ONE only issue I have is the very long wait time to speak to a life person in the office so making an appointment can be a challenge. Hoping they can fix this problem. Other than that I can highly recommend this practice!

Check-in on the kiosk or at the front desk. There is a sign on the wall that says if you've waited longer than 15 minutes, to go back up to the desk. I thought this was great! Someone was constantly getting called back for their appointment. I loved the "drop a happy note to your doctor" on the table in the waiting area. I also enjoyed the positive messages and words of advice and self-care on the TV screens. Lots of positive vibes here!

The check-in staff are nice enough, but once you are waiting to be seen, there seems to be very little interest in hearing the patient's history or listening when you try to explain why the situation is concerning. My husband does not always present like a typical cardiac patient, which makes his history especially important. On previous visits here, he has ultimately been admitted and required serious cardiac intervention, including emergency procedures and valve surgery. Once we actually get back to the ER doctors, our experience has been very different. The physicians have provided good, quality care. My concern is getting to that point. If this weren't the closest hospital to our home, especially during a possible cardiac event, I'm not sure we would continue coming here. There is a large sign warning patients that aggressive behavior toward staff will not be tolerated. I completely understand and support protecting hospital employees. At the same time, after sitting here again and watching how frustrated people become when they feel unheard, I think compassion and communication need to go both ways. We are currently here again, sitting in a mostly empty waiting room, so I will update this review as our visit progresses.
