catfish dinner with hushpuppies, yams, mac-n-cheese
Alfeia B.

not bad, but not great either... yams taste canned (Bruce's), hushpuppies taste like they came from a frozen recipe, mac-n-cheese would be awesome if it was fresh and not 2 days old, and the catfish was just so-so... don't bother with the online ordering because it doesn't work, and the customer service is just ugh, well... maybe it was just a bad night? Because they're new to me, I will patronize again as I usually give new places I try 3 times to get it right if it's not great on the first try. Hopefully the next time will be better...I hope?

This is the chicken philly that I was served.

I am a first timer to this restaurant and a last timer. Based on their own website picture of the chicken philly which advertised the sandwich having chicken, cheese, green peppers, onion, tomatoes, and lettuce, I decided to ordered it. What I received was no where near what I expected, which was a chicken, cheese, a piece of a mushroom, piece of a onion, no green peppers, no tomatoes and to top it off my fries were overcooked and cold. As a RN who was exhausted from working during this pandemic I was truly disappointed and shocked that this sandwich was served. Hopefully, the owner will either upload a picture of their real chicken philly or serve a sandwich that somewhat resembles the advertised picture so no one else is disappointed.

I like being able to see through the glass. Although, I do wish it was wider and able to see more clearly.

They lie about their wait times and the food wasn't worth the money or drive to pickup. Workers on the phone arguing loudly.

The pasta was good. But the portions were small and the wait was 45 minutes over the ready time. And nobody was there!

Great food and good people. Polish boy is great, grilled tilapia is great, the yam and okra are great, and the wing dinner is wonderful.

Located on Noble Road right across the street from Nela Park I have passed by the Columbo Room…read morequite frequently and have been meaning to give it a try. Being nearby on a day off at lunch time I figured I would give Columbo Room a try. Parked in the small lot in the back and entered through the back door, the place is smaller then I thought, just wide enough for a bar on one side and tables on the other side. Columbo Room is your classic old school dive bar; dark with the bar taking up most of the North side of the room, with a small kitchen area next to it. The main feature is the large mirror behind the bar. The bartender was friendly welcoming me and bantering with the regulars. The menu is two sided pretty much your standard soul food influenced with an extra page of specials that include wings and various philly sandwiches. On the advise of the bartender I ordered the catfish fillet dinner. The dinner was 2 large catfish fillets fried with a nice breading, served with a large portion of fries, a small cup of slaw and a couple of pieces of bread. The catfish was excellent, moist and slightly sweet with a great flavor and the breading was perfectly seasoned. The fries were nicely fried and then seasoned on the grill so that they were tasty as can be. The bread and slaw were ok, enough to use to make a sandwich with one of the fillets. Overall a good sized meal for 12.99, prepared fresh. Both the catfish and the fries were extra tasty since Columbo Room is not afraid to season its food. I will be back to eat at Columbo Room again, I want to try the Shrimp Philly Sandwich and will certainly get the catfish again. Nothing fancy, but a great place to get some good solid, well prepared and seasoned food. If you are in the area give it a try.

I called to let them know, and the young male cashier who answered the phone acted like I was bothering him. He said he would "go ask the manager what to do," put me on hold, and then hung up on me. When I called back, he hung up again without saying anything. So I drove up there -- even though I didn't really have the time my because fiancé recently had surgery on his leg so I'm taking care of him-- and yet things got even worse. In person, the same cashier cut me off while I was speaking, told me to my face that I was wrong, and said he had already checked the order (which clearly wasn't true). When I tried to explain, he got loud, threw my receipt on the floor, and kept arguing with me in front of other customers. His tone, attitude, and behavior were unbelievably disrespectful and unprofessional. Thankfully, the manager stepped in, stayed calm, and offered to make the missing items for me -- which I appreciated but while speaking with him the cashier would interject with rude, condescending and callous remarks, trying to continue the argument. The cashier placed the bag on the counter and refused to even acknowledge me. He just stared away like I wasn't standing there. The manager saw this too, and ended up moving him to the back room and handing me the food himself. My little sister was also disrespected when she came in to pick up our initial order. He would say "I can't really help you" and would walk away to sit on his phone and put his feet up on the counter. How are you the cashier manning the counter and can't give someone their order?. He gave the same response to another lady as well. We usually go to the Lee's Seafood Boil in Solon. The food is amazing there and the customer service is some of the best I've ever had. While the one on Lee Rd is the exact opposite and they're extremely greasy in comparison. We will never be returning to the Lee Rd location and will forever stick with Lee's In Solon. Manager: 4/5 - respectful, professional, and made it right. Cashier: 0/5 - rude, dishonest, disrespectful, and completely out of line. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. No one deserves to be treated like that. I won't be coming back unless serious changes are made -- starting with that cashier.

They serve $10-$12 dollar drinks (I'm under 21, couldn't review those) and have karaoke nights. The server told us that they play different R&B stations on Pandora as the music. The food was AMAZING! Always is. For appetizers, we ordered the shrimp egg roll and hushpuppies. The shrimp egg roll was about $6 for two of them, and comes with a nice sauce like the one typically served with coconut/butterfly shrimp. I hate egg rolls, but these changed my mind. The hushpuppies were super delicious, perfect consistency. For those unfamiliar, they taste like a cross between cornbread and pancakes. Served with a sauce reminiscent of thousand island dressing. Now, to the best part. The seafood boil!! They offer a variety of combos, but I decided to customize my bag. As a start, it comes with two half-cobs of corn and two potatoes. I ordered a lobster tail ($20), a half pound of Dungeness Crab ($20), head off shrimp ($15, deveined but not peeled) and a side of fried rice (typically would be ordered into the boil, $3.50 for 8oz.) I got the Juicy Special seasoning (which is a mix of ALL their other seasonings) and I highly reccomend. I ordered medium heat level, which might catch your mouth on fire if you aren't used to spice. I love medium personally, but my dad thought the mild level was super hot. Depends on the person. The food was cooked perfectly, and the sauce really solidifies the boil. We ordered strawberry cheesecake to go, for my mom back home who doesn't like seafood. She unfortunately didn't like it, she said the cheesecake texture was unusual and the strawberry syrup wasn't her favorite. I didn't get the chance to try it. In full, the bill was around $145. This includes the tip, egg rolls, hushpuppies, two full seafood boils with a variety of toppings, two soft drinks, and the cheesecake. We always leave with plenty of leftovers and feast on them throughout the following week, so it's honestly more than worth it. Would highly reccomend this spot. Will be coming back plenty of times in the future.

The ambiance of the restaurant was also great. The space was very cute and created a fun, welcoming atmosphere that made the experience feel special. Shortly after we were seated, our server (a woman with pink hair) approached our table and asked if we were ready to order even though we had only been there for about two minutes. When we politely asked for a few more minutes, she walked away without offering drinks or assistance with the menu. Throughout the entire meal, she never checked on our table, offered refills, or asked how the food was. Additionally, she spent much of the time on her phone near the front of the restaurant, loudly using inappropriate language that made both my friends and me uncomfortable and making her business, everyone else's. Ive been here multiple times and it has never disappointed in any aspect. I would also call the restaurant in advance for a reservation. Food: All the food here is amazing. From the roasted duck which had crispy skin and a juicy inside, seasoned to perfection to the amazing seafood risotto that was so filling and fresh. The food just doesn't miss. I have had their sautéed calamari which is wonderful with the bread they give complementary. Everything tastes so fresh and flavorful. The portion size is great and leaves you filled and it comes at respectable prices. Service: Amazing service. The restaurant is on the smaller size so seating is limited, but because of that you pretty much have attentive staff open to helping you at all times. In addition to the restaurant being smaller, the setting is much more intimate as it has dimmed lights and a bar on the side. The staff is kind and very informative of the menu and special too. Overall: I would come here everyday if I could. One or the best restaurants in Cleveland from my experience. I would come here for special occasions/ dates or if you're craving amazing food.
