catfish dinner with hushpuppies, yams, mac-n-cheese
    Alfeia B.

not bad, but not great either... yams taste canned (Bruce's), hushpuppies taste like they came from a frozen recipe, mac-n-cheese would be awesome if it was fresh and not 2 days old, and the catfish was just so-so... don't bother with the online ordering because it doesn't work, and the customer service is just ugh, well... maybe it was just a bad night? Because they're new to me, I will patronize again as I usually give new places I try 3 times to get it right if it's not great on the first try. Hopefully the next time will be better...I hope?

This is the chicken philly that I was served.

I am a first timer to this restaurant and a last timer. Based on their own website picture of the chicken philly which advertised the sandwich having chicken, cheese, green peppers, onion, tomatoes, and lettuce, I decided to ordered it. What I received was no where near what I expected, which was a chicken, cheese, a piece of a mushroom, piece of a onion, no green peppers, no tomatoes and to top it off my fries were overcooked and cold. As a RN who was exhausted from working during this pandemic I was truly disappointed and shocked that this sandwich was served. Hopefully, the owner will either upload a picture of their real chicken philly or serve a sandwich that somewhat resembles the advertised picture so no one else is disappointed.

I like being able to see through the glass. Although, I do wish it was wider and able to see more clearly.

They lie about their wait times and the food wasn't worth the money or drive to pickup. Workers on the phone arguing loudly.

The pasta was good. But the portions were small and the wait was 45 minutes over the ready time. And nobody was there!

Great food and good people. Polish boy is great, grilled tilapia is great, the yam and okra are great, and the wing dinner is wonderful.

They have about 8 or 9 sandwich options all made to order on a crispy focaccia bread. They also offer my favorite, San Pellegrino Italian sodas and homemade chocolate chip sea salt cookies. They slice the meat for you right there and it was all super fresh. I got the #2 which had salami, prosciutto, and capicola with burrata and pickled hot peppers. The sandwich was good and tasted really fresh. I really enjoyed the burrata. I also did not miss the fact that there was no sauce or spread on it. I'm not a huge fan of crispy or hard bread, so I think I would have loved it even more if there was a soft bread option. I definitely look forward to returning though, maybe they do have another bread option available, I didn't ask. You can also customize the sandwich, so I would have added some arugula. The cookie was incredible!

After a brief glance at the menu (and picking up a gummy worm flavored diet mountain dew from their vending machine...), I ordered their Grum Sandwich (7" for $8) without peppers and swapped out the oil for stadium mustard as well as an order of their plain "grumizza" to indulge in for dinner. It was only $2.75!!! How can I resist that?? I am not exaggerating when I say that I would die for this sandwich and I don't know if it was my obsessive ADHD brain talking or not, but it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. There was sooooo much meat on there, the spice mix was amazing, and the bread.... woweeee wow, so soft and fluffy and oh my god delicious. AND IT WAS ONLY 8 DOLLARS. The grumizza made for a great dinner as well. Using the same bread as the sandwiches, they loaded it up with sauce, ooey gooey cheese, and that spice mix I love so much. I hit my carb quota for a week in just one day but my god, was it worth it! I should also mention the place was packed and the diligent staff worked very hard to keep up with all the orders and they did a great job! My only suggestion is adding the ability to provide customers with a glass of water. I DEFINITELY will be back!!!

Various dining options exist - inside at a table (one table available) or outside/patio (two tables available). Service here is always top notch, genuinely nice people, and very quick service. Prices are comparable to prices at any other metropolitan spot. I'm obsessed with their Papa sub. It has prosciutto de Parma, Brie, wild arugula, local honey, and toasted pistachio. It tastes like eating a tasty charcuterie, so fresh and delish. Another favorite is rice pudding. It's so gooey and tasty. Every sub I tried here tastes extremely fresh and has quality ingredients. The bread, the meat, and the ingredients. Consistently delicious. It's a quality you'd expect at a restaurant, not a deli. Parking can be found on the other side of Lee Rd (municipal lot) or street parking in the area. If you'll enjoy this experience, the owner also owns Zina and Chicken Ranch in the next city over.

I wanted something quick, and the other businesses in the area are usually high traffic. This was my first time at this Jersey Mike's Subs. Based on the meal quality, I won't be visiting anytime soon. ATMOSPHERE: Casual sub shop with wood decor and comfortable seating. There are plenty of tables and high tops suitable for group lunch. I observed that most guests were picking up to go orders. FOOD: I selected #17, Mike's Famous Philly ($10.25). It was confidently the worst Philly cheesesteak I've ever experienced. The meat was extremely dry and salty, tasted like pre-packaged cheap meat. The mayo had some gross flavor, there was too much of it. Onions tasted sour. I couldn't even 1/3 of this sub, it was so bad and had so many conflicting flavors. The only good thing was the bread, pretty fresh. I would never get it again. It was an unfortunate choice. The food assembly line wasn't clean. The ingredients were intermingling and the counter was unkempt. Think twice if you have any allergies. SERVICE: Service wasn't the best but it was also the end of the day. The employee who was making my sub suddenly disappeared mid sandwich making. Another worker took over my sub. The employees tried to be friendly to customers upon entrance and exit. Still transactions were too slow. I'm pretty disappointed in the sub - Mike's Famous Philly. Philly is always so tasty at other places, I'm surprised it's not the case here. I won't be stopping in again.

Kind, even in stressful situations. They ran with a precision that I have taken from one place and put in another with good success and got more credit than I deserved as the elements of great team work were already there. How they split up tasks and worked around each other was excellent. I could place them at a non food place and they would rock it there as well. Great staff. Good light and other convenient things nearby, making it a great and easy location to grab some lunch! Really thankful to the kind and great staff that work there. Being nearby on a day off at lunch time I figured I would give Columbo Room a try. Parked in the small lot in the back and entered through the back door, the place is smaller then I thought, just wide enough for a bar on one side and tables on the other side. Columbo Room is your classic old school dive bar; dark with the bar taking up most of the North side of the room, with a small kitchen area next to it. The main feature is the large mirror behind the bar. The bartender was friendly welcoming me and bantering with the regulars. The menu is two sided pretty much your standard soul food influenced with an extra page of specials that include wings and various philly sandwiches. On the advise of the bartender I ordered the catfish fillet dinner. The dinner was 2 large catfish fillets fried with a nice breading, served with a large portion of fries, a small cup of slaw and a couple of pieces of bread. The catfish was excellent, moist and slightly sweet with a great flavor and the breading was perfectly seasoned. The fries were nicely fried and then seasoned on the grill so that they were tasty as can be. The bread and slaw were ok, enough to use to make a sandwich with one of the fillets. Overall a good sized meal for 12.99, prepared fresh. Both the catfish and the fries were extra tasty since Columbo Room is not afraid to season its food. I will be back to eat at Columbo Room again, I want to try the Shrimp Philly Sandwich and will certainly get the catfish again. Nothing fancy, but a great place to get some good solid, well prepared and seasoned food. If you are in the area give it a try.
