1 star for general incompetence at every turn…read more I was quoted 300 for a dental appliance, and then charged 1,000. After much to do, they eventually honored the original quote. I showed up to receive the appliance, and the assistant appeared with a needle to anesthetize me to fill multiple cavities. I have no cavities, and I had to refuse the shot multiple times before they realized their error. I left the practice and recently emailed to obtain records. After supplying my full name and date of birth, they replied with, "What is your Last name and Date of birth?". It took 11 emails to discover that the dentist who saw me was no longer at the practice, they do not retain records, and to contact him. They sent a long winded excuse, part of which reads: "His office has a new contact number and email address that we do not have on file. We recommend that you search for Dr. Ortega's current practice and contact his office directly to obtain the most up-to-date email address." I googled it, and his new office is...in the same building as White Oaks Dental. It's hilarious that they go out of their way to be unhelpful. If you are looking for a way to test your patience and add stress to your life, dealing with White Oaks Dental may be for you!

I normally prefer a smaller mom-&-pop type office instead of a dental mill, but this place kinda falls smack dab in the middle of both. The Good: *Dr Cho (the only dentist I've dealt with) is terrific; personable, affable, and tells you exactly what's going on and why. *The entire staff from receptionists to the nurses are all very friendly and can all take a joke. *They accept most insurances, as Carissa and I both have different types of insurance (Delta & Tricare). *They seem to be a one-stop shop for all dental procedures, according to their website. *They figure out your co-pay, and you pay at the end of your visit; no stupid bills in the mail to deal with. *They're very prompt, respect your time, and get you in and out very quickly. *Text reminders, and they will also text you if they have questions or issues that arise, which I prefer. Phone calls are giant PiTa, especially if you end up paying phone tag. The Meh: *They are *not* a Delta Premiere Dentist, so if you have Delta Dental PPO insurance, then expect to have a co-pay. *Not open on weekends *Maybe I misunderstood, but when I was trying to make an apt recently, I could've sworn the receptionist said they're not open on Fridays? However, their website, Yelp and Google, all show them to be open from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., so not I'm not exactly sure what that's about. *If you need a 2nd or 3rd visit, then they'll have to be a few weeks apart as apts are hard to come by. The Ugly: *Parking can be a bit of a nightmare at times, as their shared lot is almost always packed and lacks any shade. Street parking, however, does have some shade but can also be hard to come by. So, make sure you give yourself a few minutes before your appointment to find parking. The office itself is exceptionally clean, calm, and welcoming. The staff remember you and make you feel valued and cared for. I very much enjoy the relaxing view out the large window where you see filtered sunshine through the greenery and trees, with birds and cute squirrels occasionally scurrying through. They prioritize your comfort and explain in detail everything they'll be doing for you. The technology and tools they use are top notch. Dr. Sellen is absolutely wonderful and gentle. The team here obviously love their job and it reflects in how well they take care of their patients and in how nicely they interact with one another. I had the pleasure of having a bit of work done after a dental hiatus. Thankfully I was not made to feel bad about not having been to the dentist in a while. I needed a cleaning, fillings, and a crown. Work was done expertly and each procedure took less time than I had expected. And along the way they made sure I was comfortable and not in pain. I have been going back ever since, for twice-yearly cleanings, annual x-rays, & crown repair and filling-replacement, as needed. At the appointments, Dr. Takeuchi explains in advance the steps of the procedure and their expected duration, and then completes the job exactly as projected. He is very professional, efficient and extremely hard-working. I marvel at his ability to handle so many patients and with such detailed care. Dr. Takeuchi's staff is friendly and cheerful, always on top of things, and send out timely text reminders in advance of appointments. Just this morning, Dr. Takeuchi repaired an old filling and filled a small cavity (oops, more brushing, flossing and Water-Piking needed!). I walked out of the office thinking, wow, that was not so bad, really; in and out in half an hour. Very impressive. Better write a yelp review, before it fades from memory!

I have been overdue for a cleaning because I haven't been impressed with my last couple dentists. So I found Vino Smiles through my insurance then decided to schedule after liking what I saw online. This was my first visit with Vino Smiles and wow, what a wonderful office. Dr. Chris is so nice, thorough, and transparent. Paulina did my cleaning and Sandra did my X-rays, both were lovely; and Paulina is a fantastic hygienist, who explained her findings as she was going. Paulina and I chatted about our love of hiking and skiing/snowboarding, and Dr. Chris and I found common ground with working out and our history in EMS -- it was refreshing to have dental providers who want to know about YOU and the staff here were people I'd actually want to hang out with more than once every 6 months for a dental cleaning! Additionally, the office is beautiful (makes a great first impression!) and the subtle attention to detail really goes a long way -- they have refreshments in the lobby and comfy sofas, they give a tour of the office to new patients, put your name on the screen in your patient room, and have TVs on the ceiling for during your cleaning. They even have a separate private pediatric cleaning room with super cute artwork for kiddos. I don't mind dental visits at all, but it's just one of those things to do every 6 months. After narrowing it down based on ratings, number of reviews, review quality, office size, and hours, I was left with three options. I chose Orchard, and I made the right choice. This place has great ratings, which is pretty rare for medical offices for some reason unless it's a new Yelp page or one that people just haven't bothered reviewing. It's kind of like how fast-food restaurants and clubs always seem to have low ratings for some reason. Anyway, the reviews here are great too. If there are any bad reviews, you kind of have to use your judgment to figure out whether it's a one-off situation or just an unreasonable customer. This isn't one of those huge offices with a bunch of chairs lined up like the DMV, where they're just churning patients through like an assembly line. I hate those places because they always overbook, and I end up waiting forever for an appointment. Even when I show up on time, I still have to wait a long time before being seen. I work late on weekdays and can't really take time off during the day. On weekends, I usually catch up on sleep and don't want to spend my day off running errands. They're not always available on Tuesdays either, which can mean an even longer wait for appointments. That's why the fact that they're open until 7 PM on Tuesdays is a huge plus for me. As you can tell from the pictures, the office is very clean, modern, and well-equipped. The staff has always been friendly, and they've been very understanding about my tardiness and occasional cancellations to the point where I feel like they should hate me, but they definitely don't act like it. They also seem to have the latest and greatest equipment... I think. I'm mostly judging that based on how much more advanced their machines looked compared to every other dental office I've been to.
