This family owned and operated shop is da bomb! When I foolishly backed my newly restored vintage ride out of the garage after sitting for a few years (and neglected to check the brake-fluid level), one fender had an unfortunate meeting with a carport post. A few days later - after flushing the air out of the brake system - I took the car down to Pearson to get an estimate. Mike whipped up a quick estimate to give me an idea of how much it would cost to fix, as I was trying to decide if I should just pay for it myself or go to insurance. Well, as expected, it was a bit more than I could afford, but cheaper than other another place in town, so I called up my insurance, returned to Pearson to get a full estimate, and Mike emailed me the full estimate and his photographs. I forwarded these materials to my insurnace company and within a day got the go-ahead to have the car fixed. Slick! They got the car on a Monday, hammered the fender straight, then repainted and clear-coated by Friday so I could bring the car to its first car show (Rev It Up! in Lawrence) on Saturday. Brought it back in on Monday so they could do the final buffing. What's even nicer is that both Mike and his wife were willing to drop me off at home (or pick me up later) as needed. Whatta crew! Let me just say WOW. They matched 45-year-old paint PERFECTLY, and the fender looks nicer now than it did when I bought the car, like new. Oh, and Mike showed me his restoration project, a soon-to-be gorgeous Austin-Healey in the shop, which he works on during down-times. Highly recommeded if you do something dumb to your vintage ride and need a shop you can trust to undo the dumb. read more

During the pandemic, I especially find it rewarding to find kind people who are up front and responsive plus who know what they are doing. I am reading a lot of positive reviews regarding this company. Sorry, but I had a little different experience. I have no complaints regarding their quality of work. However, I secured an estimate for some minor damage to my car. I was told that if any hidden damage was found, affecting the repair costs they would contact me. I called twice to inquire about the progress on my car of about a week and a half and was given a time of completion. When I went in to pick up my car and pay my bill I was told that due to some hidden damage, they had to put in another 6 hours of labor which added $400.00 to my estimated cost. No one mentioned this even when I called to talk to them twice. When I reflect on how all of this played out I have a couple of thoughts. 1) there was no hidden damage and this was just their business routine. For the record, I didn't buy your story, as I looked the car over well and removed panels to see the damage myself before I brought it in. 2.) They don't do what they say they will do, by not notifying me regarding the additional costs. So I won't be using or recommending your collision repair business going forward. And your extra-large German Sheppard dog in the office is nothing more than veiled intimidation he's not helping business. read more

Do not use this shop!!!!!! They will try and get you to put used parts on your vehicle and then charge the insurance company for new. They break things in your vehicle and then will charge 3 times the amount that you can order online for the parts. They are a joke. Mike is a joke and does not know what he is doing. Run as far and as fast as you can to get away from this shop. What a disaster my vehicle ended up being. I am now having to take it to another shop to get it fix correctly read more

We brought our car into this body shop to repair the bumper. The owner provided a quote and we authorized the repair accordingly. However, the final bill ended up being 50% more than what was originally quoted and he did not clearly communicate the additional cost before proceeding. Got rear-ended by an uninsured motorist so I knew I'd either be going through my insurance or paying out of pocket. Took my 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan to the folks at Pearson and they told me they could repair the damage without having to order new parts and it would save me serious cash. At 10:30am I was quoted $365 for the repair. I picked it up at 3pm the same day and it was $250. This is a family run business and they are absolutely delightful to work with. This was the third quote I got after denting the wing of my brand new Jeep. The two other places said I needed the whole thing replaced but Pearson said they could repair so got a cheaper quote (by $250) on both other places. Superb job, looked like brand new again. I really wish there was a 0-star rating: because I received absolutely terrible service here. I took my Jeep in to get the rear tail light repaired which was done however when I got my Jeep back there was some damage the bumper that was not there when I dropped it off. The boss said there is no absolutely no way they did that then one of the workers said it's possible they did do that. After I showed the owner picture proof of the damage that was made by them he denied doing it and not once apologized or offed to fix it. Then the next day he called back, I figured he was going to apologize and make things right but after a heated conversation he cursed at me and hung up. Needless to say I am NEVER going back there nor will I ever recommend them to anyone! read more

I have been using Pearson Collision for my auto body repairs since my wife and I moved to Lawrence in 1996. Mike and his team have repaired several of our cars especially during my kids teen years. We continue to use Pearson Collision as we have always been treated with courtesy and kindness and the repairs were completed on time with the highest level of quality. Mike has also been very fair with his pricing and looks for options to keep the price lower, I.e. repairing vs. replacing the bumper on my Lexus.
