Roger, Christian and apologize don't remember the third gentleman's name were ausome they showed up on time n busted their humps for 7 hours started a 8 didn't take a lunch break. The Academy Movers team moved us from N. Mesa to S. Chandler. I was so thankful that I chose to get a bid from Academy, not just because they were less than 1/2 some of the other bids, but because of the noble cause this not-for-profit undertakes. Each of the 3 Team members was incredibly respectful to both me and my wife. The were efficient in their packing and protected out property. Everyone I dealt with from McKay, when I first contacted the company, to my three-man team upon arrival was a great experience (well, as great as a moving experience can be anyway!). I called only two days in advance and they were able to accommodate me. I had Alex, Mark, and Sammy help with my 1 bedroom move from Mesa to Tempe and they got everything done, including packaging, in under two hours at a very affordable rate. No hassle with assembly/disassembly although they provided that service. They made the move so much easier and they were very friendly and enthusiastic on top of that. Would recommend. read more

John Volken Movers assisted my move at the beginning of May. I had them move the big items - such as large furniture items and my washer as well as my freezer. We moved the smaller items and boxes with a UHAUL trailer and my truck. They came on-time, and I explained that a few of the large furniture items were going to junked, etc. I took approx. 3 hours for them to pack all of the items we wanted to move, and approx. 3 hours (including drive time) to unpack in the new house. I thought that 2 of the 3 workers really worked hard on the move. The third person seemed to be a lot more lackadaisical and that he seemed to be more interested in looking at me than doing his job (it was kind of weird). Finally, I did notice a fairly significant gash in one of my pieces of furniture. I did purchase insurance, and the lead mover did say that their manager will contact me on restoring the item, although he did say it would take two weeks for that to be set up. Honestly, I think two weeks to get contacted on fixing an item is far too long. It should not take more then 15 minutes to get an email or a call to set something up. I am not hopeful that I will ever get the item fixed. Thankfully the item is a few years on the old side. If it were new, I would be supper unhappy with the situation. Even with this situation, I did give a Tip. I think the cause / mission of this institution is worthy, and although one item was damaged - I think two of the three workers deserved it. I am giving a 4-star rating due to: - Damage on one of my items (again not hopeful that it will get fixed). - Only 2 of the 3 workers busting butt. - Worthy institution / cause / mission If my item was new and got damaged - I would likely only give a 2-star rating and no tip. read more

These guys are great. Academy movers are professional, efficient, and more than reasonably priced. They're very good with communication. Three guys showed up at my house right on time. (Brandon Corbin Jesus) They did an amazing job getting right to work. They surveyed my furniture and devised a plan. They wrapped everything very well, and protected my belongings. They loaded their rig very cautiously with precision, and then off to the new house. They arrived at the new house and unloaded everything very quickly. They would have placed everything where I wanted it, but I really wasn't sure where it should all go. If I had to do another move I would certainly use them.
