For a few days my car engine had been hesitating a little when I was starting it up. Then I came out of the gym to find it would not start. I wasn't sure if maybe it might be my key fob battery or some other problem which might require a tow. I called AAA and soon after my call, Henry arrived from Jonathan's Towing. He found my car in the crowded parking lot. He had his meter ready and determined my key fob was fine and my battery was not. He offered me the option of replacing the battery, which I accepted. He quickly and efficiently replaced my old battery with a new premium AAA battery with a 3 year statewide warranty, before it got dark. It was so nice to have it taken care of and not have to worry about whether my car would start the next time, or trying to get it somewhere the next day for a new battery. My car overheated and I was stuck on the side of the freeway and was assigned Johnathan's towing by AAA. Was first told that they had received the call and had already dispatched the tow truck and would arrive in 11 minutes. Then in 10 minutes I received another call from AAA stating that the tow truck would be another 20 minutes. After waiting for 30 minutes Johnathan's Towing called me and said they had just got the call to which I explained that I was supposed to get picked up 30 minutes ago and he said that he would be another 20 minutes. Out of frustration I said "lovely" to which he said "well I guess we are going to make you wait a little bit longer" then he hung up on me. In a panic I called AAA and the agent said that Johnathan's had been trying to locate me and could not find me. While on the phone with AAA I got another call from Johnathan's and it sounded like the same exact guy. He just asked me if I had requested a tow to which I said "never mind cancell the tow". Johnathan's Towing has horrible customer service and I will be filling a complaint with AAA to ensure they drop them from service so they don't do this to anyone else. read more

They sent technician Norris with Johnathan's Towing around 2pm. He was a very knowledgeable and nice; changed the battery and service was done by 2:16pm! I was in a car accident today and had to call AAA for a tow. Johnathan's towing was dispatched. We were given a 60 min arrival time, but our tow arrived in about 20ish minutes. Our driver's name was Massael and he was incredibly helpful and kind. He was careful when loading our car and was just very respectful and nice. During this overwhelming experience, it was great to have someone that was prompt, professional, and incredibly friendly, making a stressful situation much easier to handle. Our experience was a little different than most. Called AAA to request replacement battery, had only been a year & covered under warrant. Battery was unjumpable, we SPECIFICALLY told AAA to bring replacement. Jonathan driver shows up on time. Like "to the minute" on time. Impressive. Very nice Hispanic gentleman. Only took him a few mins to access/confirm battery need replaced. However, he did not have a battery, and would be at least 45-60 mins to pick one up. WHAT? Not sure where the breakdown occured. Could've been AAA miscommunication, but we SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED A REPLACEMENT BATTERY. This was a significant inconvenience. But to be fair who knows if it was AAA or Jonathan's that dropped the ball. That said, the driver returned promptly with the battery we needed. It was within AAA battery warranty, so expected no cost. However, the driver (after the fact) informed us it would be $20. We gave him cash, bc we didn't want this to fall on him, he was just the messenger. Later, called AAA to inquire about this mysterious $20 fee. Apparently they must've contacted Jonathan's bc shortly after we received several calls from a very nice lady, who apologized for the misunderstanding & promised to reimburse the $20. And not long after (maybe 2 weeks tops?) we received a handwritten envelope, with sticker indicating it was from Jonathan's. Expecting a check, we opened and were surprised to find a $20. No note, nothing else. Just a $20 bill. A little sketch, but the people we dealt with were friendly & followed up and kept their word so cannot complain too much about how it was handled. Especially considering some of the other reviews, we considered ourselves lucky. Important note- if I did not take the time to file an inquiry with AAA we would not have gotten our $20 back. Makes me think maybe this business is not so honest. But that's just my personal opinion. Maybe circumstancial. read more

It's hard to leave a positive review for a towing company but minus my car getting towed, I was very happy with Johnathans towing. Long story short, cops took my car (not my fault so I was already in a horrible mood). Police released my car at 4:30pm and johnathans closes at 5. I rushed from Escondido to Vista and made it to vista by 4:45 only to find out my vehicle was at the Escondido location. I was devastated because I would now have to pay a storage fee. Thankfully I called Johnathans towing and they stayed open until 5:10 for me. Thank you guys for putting a smile on my face on this horrible day. My experience with this place was very inhumane, after having had a death in the family, our family member had been in his vehicle dead, the police had this suv for forensic and then released to this yard. The day of pick up the car wouldn't start, they basically said it your issues not ours. They proceeded to laugh as the person driving this vehicle off the yard had on a hazmat suit and the all stood around laughing and not being sympathetic to this members wife as she stood there distraught. Always a pleasant experience at BMW of San Diego sales department! Just picked up a 4 series from this dealership. after looking for months and not being able to find a good deal or the car that I was looking for finally came across exactly what i was looking so i decided to just go into the dealership. I must say from start to finish it was a great experience which is usually not the case buying cars from dealerships. Even the manager Ash, introduced himself and really helped us get the best deal possible, he's such a kind, respectful, professional individual. I called AAA because I suspected the battery in my vehicle need to be replaced. My service call was assigned to Johnathan's Towing out of Vista, CA. The entire experience with AAA and Johnathan's Towing was excellent...totally satisfied. Athir, arrived on time and he was thorough and friendly. He explained the battery test and answered all of my questions...I do tend to ask a lot of questions. He was respectful of my vehicle and made sure it was just as clean as it was upon his arrival...no greasy handprints on the hood or in the car, etc. Very courteous & respectful. I highly recommend this company and should I require additional services (I hope not.), I will request Johnathan's Towing. Excellent customer service and service. Alongside with Myra whom was one of the most terrible customer service representatives I've ever dealt with, having put on hold, hung up on and told the driver to leave me when I needed a tow when I had gotten permission from the driver Ray. I am extremely disappointed as this a third party service through AAA which I rely deeply on and have for 20+ years and while I was on hold the dispatcher Myra hung up, she told Ray to leave within 2 minutes of me returning. On Friday at 5pm I finished my work day and attempted to start my Cadillac XTS Platinum and had to call AAA because my car wouldn't turn over. AAA dispatched Johnathan's Towing service to have a tech (Danny-I think was his name) come out and test my battery. He called ahead of arrival. He was earlier than the estimate. He was friendly and quick with his work. I enjoyed speaking with him as he changed out the battery. The price was fair for the service. I appreciate that. I hope next time I am in need that AAA will request Johnathan's Towing to give an assist. I had a positive experience. They even did a follow up call to make sure I was totally satisfied which is a sign of great customer service. My battery died right in front of the post office in Vista. I wasn't sure if a jump would do it or if there was a bigger problem since I had left my lights on. I called AAA for roadside assistance and their affiliated partner Jonathan's towing got the call. My technician Alan communicated his timing and stuck to it. He was very kind and communicated throughout the testing, replacement and charging. Ultimately, I needed a new battery, but that was taken care of swiftly and efficiently. A few days ago (stormy rainy day) my wife drove to work and because of the gloom, chose to drive with her headlights on... Well as you can surmise... she forgot to turn them off! and when returning to her car in the afternoon, you guessed it! dead battery!... No biggie.... This is why we have AAA. She calls AAA and tells them, (knowing that her battery has been cranking a little slowly lately) that she thinks she will need a new battery. they send Alan from Jonathan's towing... He arrives in a pickup truck full of batteries and proceeds to attempt to jump start the car with a little battery powered jump start device. Well, Diesel engines require a LOT of amps to get rotating sufficiently to fire up, and that little battery pack was sucked dry on the first attempt and did not start the car! At this point my wife requests that he just replace the car's battery with a new battery, and does he have the proper battery for our car? Alan says he does have the correct battery but he thinks something else must be wrong with the car!.... My wife suggests that he put new battery in the car and we'll see what happens... So, now my wife has requested several times that she would like to replace the dead battery in her car with a new one and Alan has claimed that he has the right battery for the car but is refusing to replace her battery because HE THINKS there is "SOMETHING ELSE" wrong with the car....?? He says she will have to wait for ANOTHER tow truck to come and he leaves her there in a parking lot in the pouring rain!! My wife now has to call AAA again and arrange for another rescue! I would like to take a moment to clarify something here... It was POURING RAIN! I know we don't get that much rain around here, but it was freakin' pouring this day! By the time my wife finally got home she was drenched! soaked to the skin wet! Meanwhile one of my wife's co-workers comes out with a good old pair of jumper cables and has the car running in a few minutes! Proving that there was nothing "ELSE" wrong with the car and that Alan's idiotic assumption (or weak excuse) was just that! So thanks for NOTHING Alan! You are useless! and I'm sure your boss is thrilled that you DIDN'T sell a $300 battery and that you DID leave a woman standing in a parking lot in the rain! But at least you saved yourself the trouble of having to install a battery... I guess that would have been a tough job for you! Be better Alan! As it stands... You SUCK! read more

In the past, I have only had positive interactions with this towing company and have always provided them excellent feedback when they have called regarding their drivers. HOWEVER, today my interaction with their driver DWAYNE, has me wondering about their service - at very least about who does the hiring. This man was nothing but rude, disrespectful, dismissive, and overall arrogant. From the moment he arrived he refused to allow me to speak and did so by holding up his hand to 'shush' me. I would happily have explained the situation, but he wasn't having it. He started about his tastes as though he was quite irritated so I asked if he had experienced a very bad day. He answered, that his day had gone quite nicely and asked about mine. I then explained that the keys were lost and this is why I was having him perform a ''lock-out" service. He clarified that I did not have the keys and explained his tow truck would not work. He left, got in his truck, rolled up the window and got on the phone. I attempted to explain that whether or not he could tow the car, I still needed him to open the car so that I could get my registration out (for my VIN to get a key made). Again, he just put his hand up to direct me not to speak. In the end he rolled down his window and said another tow truck would come. I asked about opening my door (time was of the essence for this as it's a holiday weekend), but he said the next driver would do it and drove away. My personal feelings are that this man, DWAYNE, is not only not an asset to Jonathan's towing, but is going to cause them more than this review. Let's see what they do. I notified AAA of this. This towing company is a complete scam. My vehicle was in an accident about a quarter mile from my shop to where I wanted it towed. They quoted me $190 and I agreed upon it. Once they got to my shop and before they dropped it off they told me the price was 295. They will not release my vehicle unless I pay the 295. Unless you want to get ripped off do not call this company ever. This sucks, because I really have a hard time finding a good towing company. I will never use this company again I recommend to anybody. read more

Had a great experience with a lovely gentleman named Wisam this morning. I went over something and burst the tire on the I 15 in rush hour traffic. Wisam turned up within about 5 mins of me doing the AAA online message. He was very respectful, quick at loading the car up and making sure it was loaded correctly. I didn't have anyone to pick me up so he took myself, (and a colleague) back to the garage of my choice with the vehicle. Extremely professional, very knowledgeable and an all round nice gentleman. Terrible customer service and tried to act like they didn't have my car in the beginning and wanted me to beg them to get my car back! I called this towing company to see if they had my car this morning. There was a female receptionist answered the call initially, and I gave them the year and the model of the car, and she said they do not have my car. I later called the police department and they confirmed this towing company did have my car. I then called this company again, and the same receptionist said they have my car but I need to pay $100 extra to have the gate open because they are off today. I was totally fine and headed to the place. When I got there and called them, the receptionist said "you need to make an appointment to have the gate open." I said "I'm paying an additional $100 isn't that's what it is for? ". She then said if I'm giving her attitude she can say I have no one available today and if I need her help then I need to ask nicely. I said well, then I'm going to call the police. She then finally said she will have someone there at 4pm! This is ridiculous! I'm paying extra to get my car back and got treated terribly!
