To start, our waitress was spot on and the food was delicious. This 2-star review is based on two things. First, after putting our name on the waiting list we were told we had to wait outside after asking if we could get a drink at the bar. There were empty seats in the bar and patrons were walking out of the bar with drinks in their hands.... Mr. Carino, you easily missed out on an additional $20.00 - $30.00 of revenue. Second, our menus were filthy. Some sort of an oily substance was on both of them. This was not leftover sanitizing chemicals, if it was it didn't disappear after 10 minutes and you might want to reconsider your sanitizing products. Disappointed there wasn't a large size pizza to be found in an Italian Restaurant. Had to settle for two eggplant parmesan dishes that came with a small side of spaghetti, which was very bland. First time being here. Was sadly disappointed in the food. I'm a real Italian fanatic. So when coming here I was counting on top quality food, for what we were paying. Our waiter, Morgan, was amazing and very nice. Now, we did go in there 30-45 min before closing but we were out the door right when they were closed. We had the calamari as an app and it was SO GOOOD, and the sauce was phenomenal. However... The bread had too much Rosemary for our preference. The spices were good but the bread was not our favorite in our opinion. We saw how large the portions are, so we split a chicken parm. Our chicken was over cooked and the sauce was ehh. I wish we had the marinara that we had with the calamari. Our salads where also okay, only because of the ranch. We spent a total of 45$. It was not worth the 45$ in our opinion we would have sent it back but we didn't want to cause the kitchen more work as we did come right before they closed ( we were starving). This place gets 3 stars because the people that worked there were very, very nice and attentive. The food and drinks were not great. Is this an Italian place? Why are they serving margaritas as one of their very few listed cocktails?? Luckily we tried the marinara sauce with an appetizer before ordering dinner, and based on that, we paid and left. The people were so nice, it's not their fault that the chain restaurant they work in gets everything out of a bag. We went back to the Local Goat for the second night in a row for our entrees. Two stars for the attentiveness of the staff and for how quickly we were seated. Food is extremely overpriced for the flavor and portion size. Pizza is individual sized (10") so sharing is quite difficult. Adding chicken to the fettuccine Alfredo was something like $5 on an already $13 dish. And the Alfredo was Olive Garden tier. Pizza was maybe on the same level of flavor as a frozen pizza you'd get at a grocery store. In summary, it was way overpriced for the portion size and quality of food. read more

My husband and I love authentic Italian, but this place was not it. We ordered the appetizer sampler, the mozzarella sticks were awesome. The calamari was high quality but cold. As for the nachos, they were horrible. Not only would they not allow the jalapeños to be taken off (IM ALLERGIC), they were bland in general. I guess I didn't miss out by not being able to eat them ! We also ordered the shrimp scampi, very bland and needed a ton of salt, the basil flavor was non existent. Our last dish was the ravioli with meat sauce. The ravioli was the best thing we got, however on top of the $13.99 price they charge you a 3% "pack fee". I get it things are more expensive now, but at least be up front about it. We weren't told when we ordered nor was it written on the menu. In short, go somewhere else. It's overpriced and not worth it, you'd be better off going to Olive Garden, they may not be authentic but at least they know was seasoning is. read more

I had a weekend trip to Gatlinburg, and decided to stop here because it didn't look very crowded . I was not disappointed! There is a face mask mandate here, so you must wear a mask until you get to your table. Also, all employees wore masks. Upon sitting down, we were greeted by our awesome waiter. He brought bread and oil as an appetizer. The bread was great! We also got Caesar salads as an appetizer. The dressing was not the best, but overall the salad was good. For my main course, I had the Spicy Chicken Pasta. Warning. They weren't kidding when they said spicy! It was still really good, though. I overall had an amazing dining experience at Johnny Carino's, and I look forward to going again the next time I'm in town. read more

Like most of the other reviewers, we came here because the other places we wanted to eat at were busy. This area definitely needs more restaurants..... The food was decent, but it wasn't amazing, & if you are at all familiar with authentic Italian food you will likely be disappointed. I thought Carino's was a Mom n' Pop, but it happened to be a chain I had never heard of before. Think Olive Garden, but not as good. Being from NE Ohio I KNOW Italian food, & as mentioned this wasn't anything special unfortunately. The COVID precautions were adequate, but I did notice that staff were wearing masks, albeit not correctly all the time. Tables were being spaced adequately. Lastly, don't order the Sangria - more wine/no fruit. TL:DR: Carino's is okay if you are out of options, but in a place like Pigeon Forge they just don't rise to the competition. While on vacation, I want an experience that I will remember, not just a meal. read more

I am not even sure where to start, the parking lot should have been the first sign. 5pm on a Saturday and hardly any cars. But we decided to try it anyways, the host was great so friendly and nice., the waiter not so much was very rude, did not know the menue, and had 0 personality. Ok food ordering the lasagna was so salty you could not even enjoy the dish, we did not complain and our bill, no big deal. They do not allow more than 1 check per table per the waiter. If you are wanting Italian I would suggest maybe trying another place. read more

Accusing customers of not ordering correctly is wrong In every sense of the word plus slamming a dish down on the table and nearly hitting a two yr old child's hand in the process is also wrong. I ordered a family dish for which I didn't receive initially and then had to deal with an argumentative waitress! By this time I was so disgusted that I couldn't even eat and had to take home to eat cold! Her behavior alone created a toxic environment for 2 yr old toddlers! Our favorite spot in Pigeon Forge!!! The best Italian nachos ever. Huge portion sizes, and not a bad price.

So disappointing!!! The angel hair when artichokes was flavorless . Added shrimp, and I think they forgot the seasonings. There were about twice as many black olives as necessary. I believe they think salt is a spice. Terrible!!! The chocolate cake tasted like a box mix and not a good one. The ice cream with it was good. The coffee was horrible. Lukewarm and extremely bitter. The place where you enter to pick up your take out looks like a back kitchen door. An employee was sitting smoking, so I assumed it was not an entrance.
