I want to start by saying the service was great. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and we had no complaints about the service at all. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the price. I ordered the filet mignon, my husband ordered the ribeye, and my son had the sirloin. All three steaks tasted like they may have been previously frozen or possibly cooked earlier and reheated. They lacked the fresh, juicy flavor you expect from a steakhouse. We also ordered our steaks medium, but they all came out closer to medium-well. On a positive note, the potato soup was very good and the salad was also enjoyable. However, the steaks were the main reason we chose to dine there, and they were very disappointing--especially considering the cost. She was super nice, helpful with the menu and other suggestions, and would check in on our needs. I noticed she was very good at communicating with the customers at the other tables as well. We had a fantastic experience at The Chophouse. The food was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The Prime Delmonico Ribeye with blue cheese butter was one of the best steaks I've ever had--perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and truly memorable. The sides were just as impressive: the creamed spinach delicious, the deviled eggs were spot-on, and the sweet potato was cooked perfectly. Even the bread and butter were amazing. The service was solid--about 4 out of 5 stars-- i would have given 5 stars but they forgot our salad (but quickly remedied this by bringing something else). Server was friendly. This is a regular stop every 2 or 3 months we pass through this area for work. This time all 3 in our party ordered ribeyes cooked Pittsburgh style, medium. The steaks arrived and my steak and my son's were covered in a really heavy blackened seasoning while my wife's was cooked plain. The waitress called a manager over and he took her steak and said he would have them cook another Pittsburgh style. They actually brought the same steak with even heavier blackened seasoning on it, because it had her knife cut mark in it. My wife went to the restroom and looked into the kitchen and saw young Hispanic guys cooking. Now, maybe they didn't understand the concept of Pittsburgh style steaks or they've never been taught. I switched with her because it was really heavy blackened seasoning (WHICH IS NOT PITTSBURGH STYLE) on it. I ate about half and just couldn't finish it because way over salty covering. She tried to eat half of hers, then threw the other half on my plate. My son didn't finish his either. I told the waitress and she shook her head, sharing her upsetting about the cooks. The manager came back over and wanted to give free dessert but we just weren't feeling well. I told him that's far from the same style steaks I normally have gotten in the past. The waitress brings the bill back and said the manager took off one of the steaks. NEEDLESS TO SAY, we were sick for 3 days, with me actually just recovering from all the seasoning in my stomach almost a week later. I haven't been able to hardly eat. Anyhow, I'm afraid I don't think I can return to one my favorite stops for years in this area. So sad how it was prepared, handled, and then 3 people sick for several days following. Steak So Good, I Might Just Move Closer Our grandson came to visit, so the wife and I made a little getaway out of it and stayed in Pigeon Forge. On a whim--and with hunger setting in--we picked The Chop House. It was packed (clearly people know what's good), but thankfully we had made a reservation. Only waited about 10 minutes before getting seated near the bar--prime people-watching real estate. Our waitress was a gem--friendly, patient, and didn't even flinch when we asked a hundred questions. We ordered the ribeye and baked potatoes because, let's be honest, we weren't there to nibble on salads. The steak came out perfectly cooked and so good I almost offered to help wash dishes just to stay a little longer. We're from Abingdon, VA, but the next time we're picking someone up from the Knoxville airport, we're building in a mandatory steak stop at The Chop House. It's that good. read more

We went for lunch and sat at the bar. We had an Old Fashioned and a Margarita. Both were good! The OF came loaded with ice instead of a large cube, but this is purely preference, didn't alter the drink. The calamari and shrimp appetizer was great. I love sticks of calamari just as much as I love the rings, and these were seasoned well. We both had lunch sirloins and baked potatoes. We took a church group of 70 people there on a Thurs night in March 2027 at 6:00pm. I had previously spoken w/the Gen Mgr. who said they could accomodate this large group. We had a choice of 3 entrees. When we arrived we had a reserved area w/ice water at each seat. The food was delicious, the wait staff were awesome and we left the restaurant. The waiter said we didn't specify that we wanted everything on our burgers. The new burgers came out on the same plates that were taken away and by then the baked potato and fries were cold. Not our typical experience here based on previous visits. After I posted this review, we spoke to the manager. He explained the server was new and should have asked us about the toppings. For this restaurant to be at an outlet mall it is still very nice. The ambiance is somewhat casual but you can definitely come here to celebrate or have a meal out when you one several options. I sat at the bar because the wait for a table was long and I was solo. The bartender and bar area wait staff was very attentive even with all of the drink orders coming in fast. I'm usually a steak person but the pork chops sounded great so I got those with the deviled eggs and macaroni and cheese and added a salad. I started off by making a reservation for 7:30p.It was my boyfriend's 60th birthday and I wanted to take him out for a nice dinner while in town. I highly suggest making a reservation, it's not mandatory but highly advised. Upon arriving, and checking in our reservation wasn't ready. My bf and I decided to have a drink at the bar while we wait. It took about 20 minutes after our reservation time to finally be seated. Once seated our waiter came over and we started with a fresh drink. My boyfriend ordered one of their signature cocktails. The Chop House has two fireplaces, which are open on both sides. There's one on the main level, and another on the upper level. The walls are open so you can see both fireplaces from where I was seated. The room itself is very warm and cozy with the fireplace going it added a nice ambience. The walls are a dark wood, and the lighting is on the dim side which makes it quaint. There's plenty of free parking, and they have handicapped parking . This place is Wheelchair Accessible. The Chop House can accommodate Groups, such as Graduation Celebration, Birthday Parties, Corporate Functions, or Family Gathering, even Team Sports Events, ( call ahead.) The Chop House offers a nice "Gluten Free" Menu. They are also "Kid Friendly," all children are given a fun placemat with games to play on it, and their own personal kids menu. I started off with their Deviled Eggs with Brown Sugar Bacon. The presentation was lovely. What I really liked was that you get 6 halves not just an odd number of three like most places. These deviled eggs were delicious. They had a creamy egg filling, with a piece of candied bacon on top. That bacon gave the eggs a nice smokey taste. For my Entree I chose their Ribeye Steak. My entree came with a House Salad and a Baked Potato, I also ordered an extra side of Mac N Cheese to share.This is a definite must. It had a crispy crumb topping and creamy, rich shell interior. I ordered my steak med-rare and I was emphatic that it not be over cooked. (Unfortunately, it was overcooked which was somewhat of a disappointment. This is a steak house and they should know how to cook a proper steak.) I ate some of it and kept quiet because it was my boyfriend's birthday. The steak itself was seasoned nicely, it was just overcooked to medium which I dislike! The birthday boy ordered their Sirloin Steak and he got his topped with a Horseradish Crust for a few dollars more, a House Salad, and Seasoned Rice. He enjoyed his meal. ( they have a lot of extra sides to choose from.) My waiter knew it was my boyfriend's birthday and to our surprise, he brought a FREE dessert. It was their Caramel Cookie Crunch-A caramel cookie, French vanilla bean ice cream chocolate, caramel, and white chocolate sauces on top. It was so good. We made a reservation here for a birthday dinner while on vacation after some friends recommended it. Despite having a reservation and being on time, we still waited around 20 minutes. The place is "fancy" in the way Olive Garden was fancy for middle America in the 1990s. It's trying to be upscale, but is really a glorified Applebees. The white table cloths look fancy but are just vinyl table cloth. I ordered a sirloin steak, baked potato, and Caesar salad. I've never met a Cesar salad I didn't like, but this salad tasted like water. It had absolutely no flavor. Perhaps it sat too long in a fridge? I don't know how you make it taste like that. I had three bites and gave up. My steak was okay - extremely heavily seasoned (as in someone dumped spices onto it) and a bit tough. I wouldn't order it again, especially for $30. One person in our party ordered a crab cake which came with tartar sauce instead of a remoulade, but perhaps it's on her for ordering a crab cake in the middle of the mountains. It was definitely just a frozen crab cake patty. She didn't enjoy it. Another person had the pork chops and said they were "ok." My loaded baked potato was good, but a potato is a potato. Service was okay. Our server was really awkward but she was attentive. When she learned it was someone's birthday, she sent over a free dessert. It was the heath bar cookie with homemade ice cream- but you'd never know it. The server dropped it off without saying what it was, which is really problematic because it contains nuts you can't see and you should warn people about that! We don't have any nut allergies fortunately. The ice cream had COMPLETELY melted by the time the dessert arrived at the table. It was just melted soup, nothing solid to pick up, like maybe it sat under a heat lamp? The heath bar cookie thing was rock solid. We could not cut it at all using the fork and had to use a knife to hack off a small fragment. We had a good laugh about how absolutely terrible it was to send over an inedible dessert, but it was free, so we didn't complain. Had we ordered it and spent $10 on it, we absolutely would have sent it back. I wish I had thought to take a photo! I will not be returning to this location or any other Chop House in the future. This was an expensive meal that definitely was not worth it. There must be other similar options out there that are better. Go there. read more

Our family has been loyal to this location for over 30 years -- but the current manager, Christopher, has singlehandedly destroyed its long-standing reputation. After being served charred, inedible food and politely asking for it to be corrected, we were met not with an apology, but with arrogance, argument, and complete disregard from the manager, Christopher. While the waitress was apologetic, the manager (Christopher) came to the table only to blame us, as if we should've ordered it to be cooked differently. It's appalling to see such a well-loved restaurant fall so far under this kind of management. My suggestion is to avoid this location unless The Chop House replaces its leadership and restores the respect and quality it was once known for. read more

The food that I was about to eat was good. I initially ordered broccoli with Parmesan cheese. When my food was brought out I had a huge stem and a side of Parmesan. I kindly informed the server that the cheese was suppose to be melted on the broccoli and I would love for it to be cut up like everyone at my table. I was told it would be an upcharge for cheese of course I was already aware of the price difference and agreed. She then took the cheese from my plate when my broccoli was brought back it was regular cheese and still a huge stem. When I repeated what I wanted now for the 3rd time my plate was taken again and we heard many side conversations including the statement " Does she not have a knife" That's a very rude statement to make. Regardless, if I had a knife or not, my order was still wrong. By the time my broccoli was corrected and brought out I was done with my food. The manager apologized and brought out desert. The restaurant had so much potential to be great and I would have loved to enjoy my meal. The attitudes and side conversations ruined my experience. I more than likely will not return. read more
