The Food is Great!!! my favorite burger is the Hangover Burger which has a fried egg and a chorizo patty on top of the beef patty. The buns are sweet and the sauce that they give you with fries is mouth-watering It is a very popular place if your eating in, and the atmosphere is loud, cramped and busy. I would advise you to order to-go if you wish to experience their amazing food, which can be complicated for two reasons. First, they will not take a to-go order over the phone, which I assume is to direct customers to go online where the order can be paid for and ensures the correctness for the info being conveyed. Second, The will sometimes turn off online orders and will refuse to take any orders by the phone. After being turned down from putting in a to-go order it is hard for me to consider them for future visits I am not sure if it is a problem with scale and I would image they may hate money, as I cannot understand why they would turn away business. Although their poor attitude toward service has turned me away from being a patron, I still consider them to have the best food in Navarre. read more

I enjoy this restaurant. We have always been treated well, prices are fair, and food is decent, some pretty good. Not a bad a choice and great for on the way back from the beach. The menu has a lot of options which is a plus as well! We went here to find something diffrent than the normal tourist spots in Navarre. We were not disappointed. The service was awesome. They had a great selection of beers. The kids menus were affordable and were very big for a kids meal. Both my boys had the small burger meal and they were as big as a regular burger. They were fully dressed and had fried pickles instead of regular. I had the pimento cheese burger and my wife had the Huston's Hangover which had a fried egg and chorizo on the burger. The best part was the sauce that came with the fries had an awesome jalapeno flavor to it. All the burgers were juicy and cook to a perfect medium well. I'm a regular here. The burgers are the best in the city of Navarre. Minus a star because they don't pay attention to their pick-up service via the website. Also, they will not let you order via the phone. Ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes after showing up to pick up my food during one of their slower hours. Hostess said "Oh, it just showed up in the system." . Why have an online service if you're going to need to call and confirm your order anyways? Johnny Huston's is one of my favorite places in Navarre to go have a beer and watch some football with friends. They have good food and tons of TVs with sports on every channel. You can eat inside or in a covered porch area. Don't worry there's TVs outside too. It does get a little busy for dinner sometimes but I've never had to wait too long. read more

I have joined Dena in her quest to discover the best fish tacos in the area - and completely neglected to order them... Cuz I just had to order the spicy shrimp tacos instead. Why order healthy grilled fish tacos when you can have fried shrimp smothered in bang bang sauce, jalapenos and cabbage. Maybe it was coleslaw but the taco was so spicy, I couldn't really tell. When I told my husband what I thought about this place, he said I was being too critical. I love the feel of Johnny Houston's, and walking in I thought that I would be very happy person walking out. Our appetizers came in and my baked, artichoke and spinach oysters were delicious, just like my husband's spicy shrimp. When we got our burgers they looked very appetizing. But once I bit into it, the meat wasn't exactly fresh and it really spoiled my appetite. I do have to complement home made fries and gumbo. The fries probably could have had just plain salt on them instead of the house blend but that's really minor to me, I'm not a big fan of season salt on my fries so I will have to remember to ask for my fries to be plain the next time. Yes, we are planning to come back cause I'm not ready to completely cross this place out. I'm hoping it was just one time hick up. read more

So i didnt go for over a year. Went back with a friend and I was pleasantly surprised the food AND service was much better. Eclectic burger and wing joint with a full bar. Service was polite enough. My sons got a burger and kids' chicken tenders which were good. My wife got the pulled pork sliders. The flavor was okay, but they were soaking wet and the bun was a soggy sponge. My daughter and I got the mild wings. Possibly the worst flavored wings I've ever eaten. Tasted like they were dipped in fish sauce. Totally rank. We didn't get through the second wing because the taste and smell were overwhelming. They played music that was not appropriate for kids. I'm giving this place a 3 because of the SERVICE. The food was AMAZING! We came here to watch the Chiefs game and the first server we had was so attentive and personable. I wish I had caught her name because I would make sure to recommend her! She let us know she was about to leave and we would be getting another server so we closed with her and waited for our new server to greet us. She did not do that. Our first server actually came over and got us another round of drinks even though she was OFF THE CLOCK. The second server was extremely inattentive and seemed bored to be taking care of us. She got us 2 rounds of drinks and one food order before she stopped serving us and didn't let us know she would be switching us over for our THIRD server of the evening. Although she handed us over, she continued to take care of the table next to us. Our third server took my food order (I asked for jalapeños on my burger, in which I did not receive) and once I got my food, it took her a good 20 minutes to come over. She did NOT ask how my food was, but offered to get the guys another round of drinks. I'd also like to note that neither server 2 or 3 filled up my water (I'm the sober driver), while server 1 filled it twice before she left us. All-in-all, the atmosphere and food are a 10/10, but the service and what appears to be a lack of management were a 2/10. read more

I am adding an update to my original review! While we liked Johnny Hustons before, we will not be going back. The last few times we went the wings were not good. Christmas Eve we went and and the wings were way over done and terrible. I really wanted a salad and took a chance and ordered the southwest chicken salad. While the flavor of the salad was decent, the portion size was rediculous. It was a small soup bowl. We paid $14 for a salad that was smaller than that of what you get at fast food restaurant for $6.00. It was a huge rip off. I asked the waitress about it and she ignored me and walked away. Our service was terrible and I think the waitress just didn't want to deal with is because I questioned the $14 salad. I mean, at least add some lettuce for $1.49 a head! She walked away and we couldn't even tell her that the wings were almost burnt. We are so disappointed in this place now. We won't go back. read more

We had to wait as a party of five for a table to open. Several twosomes and threesomes got sat right away. Normally that would upset me but no booths or tables for 5 were available. Looking around the restaurant I noticed no less than three couples sitting in the large booths and lots of two tops available. Finally was seated and got to order. We usually eat at Johnny Houston's 2-3 times a month. I loved the pimento cheese burger, but sad to see it's not on the menu anymore. The western burger is really good as well. I'm very disappointed that they have taken away the seasoned skinny fries. They were perfect and went well with the Houston's sauce. Been here 3 days, and tried several places for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. By far the best meal yet. Food great. Service great. Beer cold. The 50/50 burger was excellent.
