My review isn't about the food but rather about ordering.I tried ordering online and calling this afternoon and it said online ordering wasn't available.Then I tried calling in my order.Still no response.It was around 5:30pm.This is about the 5th time I have encountered this.If they are going to cut off online and phone in orders at a certain time it would be a great idea to post the times so that people will know what times are available for ordering.If it is posted on the website I haven't seen it...Anyway,maybe if I order at lunch I'll have better luck. read more

We were misled by the rave reviews. We went expecting wonderful seafood at a good price. Instead, we found barely okay food at a fairly high price. I got the special of the day which was swordfish for $18.00. It came with 2 sides. I didn't like the fried okra because it was a bit greasy. I didn't eat the hush puppies because they were even more greasy. I didn't eat any of the beans but my husband said they were too sweet. The swordfish was sliced too thin and was blackened. It was pretty salty. I tried one of my husband's shrimp and all I can say is that it was edible. It wasn't particularly good. Our 19 year old granddaughter got grilled chicken. She said it was okay but when I asked her which was better, that grilled chicken or the grilled chicken at Chic fil a, she said Chick fil a. She's not even a chic fil a fan. We went at noon. They weren't extremely busy as I thought they would be based on the reviews. The atmosphere was rustic. Everything was self service. My husband left a tip when he ordered at the counter thinking they would bring the food to us and clear the table. It was all self service. read more

The place stays busy, and with the crowd, TVs, and constant activity, it can get pretty loud. If you're hoping to have an easy conversation with your group during dinner, be prepared to compete with the noise. That said, the atmosphere is fun. The restaurant is full of local character, plenty of decorations, and enough going on to keep things interesting while you wait for your food. The food came out hot and fresh from the kitchen window. The chargrilled oysters were the highlight of the meal--piping hot, perfectly cooked, and served with fresh lemon. Everything else was solid and exactly what you'd expect from a casual seafood spot, but nothing really stood out as memorable. Overall, Scooter's is a good place to grab seafood if you're already in the area. The oysters are worth ordering, the atmosphere is lively, and the food is consistently decent. I would give this. 2.5if possible......my wife and I went there for lunch the other day, and the experience was the tale of two lunches. I had the fish tacos, which were quite to my liking and tasty. Battered fish cooked to perfection, good garnishments, and everything I would expect in a fish tacos. On the other hand my wife had the marlin, which looks like 3 lumps of Kingsford charcoal......dry, overcooked, and a mess. Cannot agree with 4&1/2 stars shown on the app. To me it was just ok. It's all self service from ordering at the counter, picking up your order and bussing your table. I don't mind that. Just pointing it out. Kind of a beach shack atmosphere with lots of fish art on the walls. I got a combination plate of grilled fish and fried shrimp with beans and fried okra as sides. The only thing I really didn't like was the hush puppies. Really greasy. The swordfish was sliced waaay too thin and heavily salted. The fried shrimp were pretty good. They didn't offer cocktail sauce. The sides were very generous in size (I had to leave at least half) and they were OK. There's probably a lot better seafood to be had in Navarre. read more

The good is worth the wait. It's a small but cozy footprint inside with typical beach decor, but don't let that dissuade you. Once inside you order at the counter and the time you wait is minimal compared to the amount of people inside, the service was excellent start to finish! I can see why this is constantly rated one of the best fish houses as every thing was perfectly cooked and flavored. We had a group of ten and everything was correct, a nice change of pace from other recent experiences. Scooter's Fish House was very busy and had a line to order before seating ourselves at a table. Plenty of tables inside to sit at. Waited an hour for our meal. We had a mixed experience. I ordered the baked pompano with fried okra and potato salad, which was good but not repeat-order-worthy for me. The fried okra was a highlight - it was very tasty! My husband's fried shrimp dinner wasn't hot when he got it, which was disappointing. My mother-in-law's fish of the day (triple tail) was just okay. The biggest issue was with the key lime pie upgrade. We were charged $6.47 for a slice, despite being told it was a $3 upgrade. When we went to pick up our food at the window, they told us they were out of key lime pie and offered a large side of seasoned fries instead. They seemed to be having some technical difficulties with their system which was probably why the key lime pie inventory wasn't up to date. Their kitchen also seemed backed up/overloaded. read more

To date, Scooter's Fish House has been hands-down THE BEST seafood I've ever had in MY LIFE! l'm a die hard seafood lover and have had seafood that claimed to be caught same day/local, but wherever Scooter's is getting their seafood from, and whatever they're doing to it, is far superior then anything I've had before. The vibe here is relaxed and there's plenty to choose from on the menu. Not to mention, the prices are reasonable for the quality you're getting on your plate. I ordered the Grilled Shrimp Dinner Plate ($17.99) which came with grilled shrimp, hushpuppies and two sides. I went for an order of fried okra too, which was delicious. Everything I've tried here was a winner. Also, side note, there's plenty of seating around the corner from the front register, near the back. We tried Scooters for the first time based on the positive overall reviews. What a huge disappointment! We arrived early in the evening, around 4:00 and the only fish they had was swordfish or mullet. We ordered the chargrilled oysters, grilled shrimp tacos with potato salad side and the swordfish dinner grilled with cucumber salad and gumbo as sides. Honestly, the beer was the only good thing about our meal. The oysters were so heavily seasoned that all we could taste was parmesan cheese and tons of pepper. The grilled shrimp in the tacos were actually blackened, not grilled, and again heavily over-spiced. We really didn't think there was a way to mess up the potato salad, but it was full of undercooked, crunchy potatoes. The "swordfish" was an unidentifiable piece of fish that was less than a half inch thick with tons of blackening seasoning so that you couldn't find the fish let alone taste it. Surprisingly, the gumbo which we expected to be spicey tasted like paste....some of the worst we've ever had. We ended up throwing most of our dinners away because it was inedible. Overall, a horrible experience and certainly not worth the $70+ that it cost. We will definitely not be back and if I could give it zero stars, I would. read more

We stopped by Scooter's in Navarre with a fairly large group and, admittedly, we were those people. . .the last to order right as the doors were closing. Despite that, the staff was kind, welcoming, and didn't make us feel rushed at all, which we really appreciated. The atmosphere was great. . .super casual with a big family vibe that felt like a classic coastal hangout spot. It's the kind of place where you can kick back, relax, and just enjoy good company. As for the food, it was good, not amazing, but to be fair, it was the end of a long day for the kitchen, and that may have impacted things. The fried shrimp were a little overdone and tougher than expected, and the okra just didn't have much flavor. That said, we were grateful they still served us, and the rest of the meal was satisfying enough after a long day out. All in all, Scooter's has a lot of potential, and I'd definitely give it another shot during normal hours when the kitchen's in full swing. I'm looking forward to trying it again under better timing. Outstanding service. A lot of people are complaining about portions--I have no idea what they are talking about. The portions were plentiful and the food came out very hot and quickly, and correct. This is a short-order place. Order at the front, and they call out your number and you pick up at window. Plenty of seating for our party of 10. I got the ultimate platter with fried fish, fried shrimp and fried oysters. It came with fries as a side. Plenty of self serve tartar sauce and cocktail sauce, with numerous hot sauces to your desire. We got an additional side of fried okra which came out lit! If you need a quick lunch or dinner, want a short order (not waited service), and want it hot, go to this place. The last thing I'll say: my great-grandma is a diva and didn't like her grits (which I later happily ate ). They replaced it with an order of fried okra, no questions asked or other charge noted. I ordered the 2 protein platter to go, got the fish and shrimp. $28. Got it with fries and coleslaw. Yep, 4 (22-24 sized) pieces of shrimp, and two chicken tender size pieces of fish. Cole slaw was an onion-y version of KFC, but hey, at least the seasoned fries were good. Oh, and two hush puppies, one overcooked the other cooked well, and extra bland. Went out of our way to eat here and personally I don't see why all the high reviews. Had the grilled shrimp, not enough to fill me. The "wedge salad" turned out to be a cup or so of iceberg with a 1/2 slice of tomato. The "cheesy grits" just grits with a few sprinkled shredded yellow bits on top. I imagine the other seafood establishments in the area are far worse, though I haven't been able to try them. The A/C was set to 54 which likely made it comfortable for the kitchen, but cooled off my lukewarm food too quickly and my nails were nearly blue when we left. I was looking for seafood while here at my favorite beach. I haven't been to Navarre in years and it's grown. My secret beach is no longer a secret. If you don't love the crowds and don't mind a 4 minute drive away from the pier, you will find some very affordable EXCELLENT seafood! I always use Yelp to find my next meal when eating out. I did my research on this place and they didn't disappoint me! A beautiful blonde with a great smile greeted me and answered my questions while ordering. We ordered key lime pie to go only because we had no more room. We left STUFFED and HAPPY! We shared the colossal grilled shrimp plate and the snapper plate. Hush puppies were the best my husband's had, the potato salad was good but the fried onions, coleslaw and okra were amazing. There is lots of rooms inside with picnic tables and lots of sport TV's. You can self serve lemons for tea and all the tartar sauce and cocktail sauce you need. Their cocktail sauce is really good and has the perfect amount of horsey-radish in it which I love. I shook hands with Mark the manager on tonight who gave me my key lime pie along with a great smile. I had a wonderful experience this evening and this excellent meal was a BIG part of it. Someone associated with this restaurant needs to update their website. This is 2026. Upon early arrival we were informed quite rudely that there was no happy hour. There was no beer. The advertized drinks were not available. With 2 kids we attempted to order chicken for them. No chicken available. The employee's attitude was "take it or leave it." We always try to support local businesses but this experience was underwhelming. We cannot recommend dealing with this attitude toward the public. As far as taste and quality of seafood, this is the best place I have tried in the navarre Beach area. It came highly recommended. Hole in the wall restaurant even though they have two rooms of tables and a back patio. Basically you order at the front counter and then they call your number and you come and get your food. I ordered the scooters platter which had Fried oysters, grilled and blackened fish and shrimp , hush puppies, coleslaw and fries for $28 not bad. I will tell you this the blackened fish and shrimp as far as taste was as good as I've ever had. Portions were kind of small, but food quality and taste were exceptional. Highly recommend. Great food (depending on what you get), quick service, ma and pop restaurant, casual atmosphere. This is an order and seat yourself kind of place. Sitting outside is not ideal, typically hot and noisy, and lots of bugs in the summer. Indoor seating has picnic tables and plenty of room. We ordered, mahi samwich (spelled this way on the menu), flounder dinner, cheese grits, baked beans, and cucumber salad. The grilled mahi samwich was underwhelming, small portion of fish and a big cheap bun which detracted from the flavor. The fried flounder dinner plate on the other hand was incredible: great flavor, massive portions, and comes with two sides. I don't normally don't go for grits, but after a bite, I was literally in heaven, soooo good. The beans were also very good, but nothing could compare with those grits. The cucumber salad was not good, overly salted, mostly onions and a semi off-putting flavor. I didn't even eat half of it. The dinner also comes with 2 hush puppies which were also good. I'll certainly be back and will spend the extra $$ for the dinner plate to avoid the samwich. read more
