My family and I stopped here for lunch after we spent the morning shopping and sightseeing in downtown Gatlinburg. I was the only person in my family who had been to another location of Johnny Rockets, and I was happy that my wife and daughters got a positive experience on their first trip. We ordered some onion rings as an appetizer. They were served hot straight from the fryer. I personally prefer a much lighter batter than they use, but the rest of my family enjoyed them. I was in the mood for a no-frills burger, and the Original burger looked good from the menu description. I was excited that they offer a wheat bun; not many places do that. I ordered the mustard and relish on the side. Overall, it was a delicious burger. The wheat bun was pretty with the oats (?) on top and had the earthy flavor I expect from a wheat bun. It held up fine bite after bite - never soggy. The lettuce, tomatoes, and onion were crisp and cold. I added my own mustard and ketchup to round it out. I tried the relish and didn't like it. It was a bread and butter pickles relish, and I prefer dill pickles on my burgers. I am glad that I ordered it on the side. For my side, I opted for the side salad instead of french fries. I was impressed with the taste of this salad. Who knew that spring mix topped with sliced tomatoes and some Ken's blue cheese dressing could taste so good? I removed the shredded cheddar cheese because cheddar cheese with blue cheese dressing is a combination that I don't like. As a family, we spent some time voting for the next music channel to play in the restaurant. It's not the same as choosing the next song from an actual jukebox, but it was something fun to keep us busy in between ordering and the arrival of our onion rings appetizer. read more

Stopped in here for a quick bite while walking around in Gatlinburg. I hadn't seen a Johnny Rockets in years so I was super stoked!! The burgers were as delicious as I remembered, but the fun just wasn't there. I remembered the music playing and the servers dancing and having fun, but here there just wasn't much of that at all. Our service was good, but the servers seemed to just be going through the motions. Which is fine, but it just wasn't the Johnny Rockets that I remembered. You still get the cute ketchup plate though One thing that sort of was really weird was that they had a "photographer" taking photos of all of the customers. Of course, they later come to your table trying to sell you the photos that they took. I wasn't a big fan of that. read more

I haven't been in many years prior to going this time and the food is still the same but the atmosphere is not. I went while vacationing in town and wanted a good burger. I ordered the cheeseburger with fries. It was cooked perfectly and was tasty as usual. The waitress was super kind and helpful. Another lady came up to take our picture and we didn't mind. Later she came back trying to sell us a $30 low quality picture. We respectfully declined and she asked again. I felt she was a little too pushy with the issue. We stopped at Johnny Rockets for the first time yesterday even though we come to Gatlinburg quite often, but we will definitely be back! Natalie was AMAZING! We sat at the counter because we just needed to get our son a quick meal, and even though the rest of us weren't eating, she made sure we had waters and everything we needed and got our food to us super fast. It was such a pleasure to talk with her and see how hard she works and cares for the customers. I also appreciated sitting at the counter because all of the food prep is visible, so you can see how clean everything is and how efficiently this team works together to get the orders ready as soon as the tickets come in. Food and service was average. We ducked in to get out of hurricane rain for a bite to eat. The AC was cold which made us shiver from being drenched from the rain. We were worse for wear when a photographer came to the table and wanted to take our pictures for an up sale. We politely declined as our hair and clothing was wet despite umbrellas. The food was ok, the burgers were thin and greasy, but filling. We got ample fries for our side. We had to send back my daughter's meal after explaining a food allergy of citric acid to our server and the sandwich arriving with mustard on it which has the ingredient in it. We felt like the staff was irritated by the inconvenience that it had to be remade ( despite the restaurant being practically empty) and we wound up apologizing to them multiple times as a result. We could see the staff talking about it with irritation and disgust as the kitchen area is open. Quality restaurants which care about the customers would have a kitchen staff visit a table with an allergy- no send a photographer to make more money off them. We've eaten at multiple Johnny Rockets in the past, including King of Prussia, etc. so we were quite disappointed by the experience at this location. It felt like the staff at this Gatlinburg location didn't care for their jobs and the customers were an inconvenience. The price for this experience was not worth it. This location for us was a once and done. My recommendation would be to visit Puckett's in Pigeon Forge if you're looking for an incredible burger and professional experience- at about the same price, if not a fraction less. I gave 2 stars because of the fries and milkshake. The burgers were ok and it was a place to get out of the rain. I would not recommend this experience for anyone wants a positive vacation memory and will not be returning in the future. read more

I haven't been to a Johnny Rockets in almost a decade. Decided to stop by while in town because our son wanted a burger. I do not remember Johnny Rockets doing unlimited French fries but we were pleased that they did that. I got some sort of burger with bacon and onion ring in it. And it was sooooo good. Maybe because I've been on a diet lately but this has probably been one of the best burgers that I've had in awhile. Patty wasn't too thick and the bread wasn't too dense. I usually don't try new restaurants, but the name caught my eye right away. The place had a really cool atmosphere, and the two ladies who greeted me were super friendly. One of them was training the other, but she was so quick to catch on that you couldn't even tell they were the sweetest. And the food was amazing! I was getting really tired of the American food in the area but we decided to give Johnny Rockets a go! My expectations were low and this place slightly surpassed them and let me explain why The Cheese fries 5.8/10 The cheese on the fries didn't taste the best but on the plus side the fries are fresh and unlimited. The bacon was yummy! Now the Philly cheese steak was a solid 6.7/10 , which isn't too bad but it was a little dry and needed more cheese and some more seasoning on that meat and it'd probably go up a point or 2. The bread itself was better than I expected. Now the service was great! We all got unlimited fries and boy oh boy did he keep 'em comin. I really enjoined how you could choose song stations to play in the restaurant! Overall I'd give this place a 6/10 I'd personally go to five guys next time they season the fries and I find the burgers more flavorful (I tried my man's burger ). It's a classic Johnny Rockets. Got a shake, the "refill" had about an inch extra, so there's that. Got the Jalapeño burger, it was delicious. The fries were great too. The server was good and competent. But.....as I was sitting down a woman came in with a stroller. I looked in the stroller and I was like oh, that's a raccoon". It was a legit raccoon. They strolled right in a disappeared into the back. Not sure where they went but I'm sure that is not allowed. A freaking raccoon!!!! I wouldn't come back but I don't regret coming. I went here on my first night in Gatlinburg, looking for something quick. We were in and out pretty quick. The service was great!! The food is okay, it's nothing special but also will not disappoint. We ordered the chilli cheese fries which I liked. We ordered the BLT and chicken tendered for dinner. The chicken tenders were a but on the dry side but still pretty good. The BLT was loaded with bacon. I would definitely go back and try something different, maybe on of the burgers. They also do have options for vegetarians and vegans! read more
